Book now for Summer!!! Charming cottage in desirable Whittemore Shores which has a private beach and Newfound Lake access. Totally renovated 4 BR/2.5 bath, two-level cottage with large upper deck with views of the lake and Cardigan Mtn. House is air conditioned (unusual for lake rentals.) Upstairs bedrooms: two have queen bed and one has a day bed with pull-out trundle (2 twins). Downstairs bedroom has queen bed and downstairs living area has two full size futons. Full baths upstairs and downstairs with half-bath for master bedroom. Cottage sits in its own apple orchard and is a nice walk to the lake, or you can use the golf cart to get there. Access to a boat mooring, tennis courts and playground. This is a private oasis that's part of the desirable community of Whittemore Shores. All kitchen utensils/dishes, towels and linens provided for your use. In addition to summer sports and relaxation, this is the perfect place for winter sports, with snowmobiling, ice skating and ice fishing on frozen Newfound Lake, and skiing and snowboarding at nearby Ragged Mtn., Gunstock, and more. Full washer/dryer. NO PETS or smoking allowed. Note: we recently finished the basement, adding a 4th bedroom with queen bed, full bath and living area with 2nd TV.

Our new favorite place!

This property has everything you need for a wonderful vacation. The pictures online are appealing, but the actual home is even nicer! This is our third vacation spot in six years at Newfound Lake, and it is now our favorite. Everything about it was terrific.

Great vacation home on Whittemore Shores

Lyda’s home was a great vacation location for our family! The open kitchen/dining/living area suited our family’s needs, and the downstairs was very spacious including a new large full bath. Scenic views of the apple orchard in the front as well as lake and Mountain view in the back. Whittemore point is a very convenient location with great restaurants and grocery close by. We plan to return next year!

Fantastic Vacation House!

We've been vacationing at Newfound Lake for over 30 years now, this was one of the nicest houses we've stayed at! Very clean, LOTS of room (the kids loved the yard!), and the central AC was really nice during the hot days. The shared community beach was really nice as well, only a 7 minute walk from the house (we timed it :-) ), or you can use the golf cart provided by the owner. Had a great sandy beach, and the covered pavilion was very helpful if we wanted to each lunch while down there. Also, I have to say the owner of this property was absolutely fantastic. Homeaway/VRBO somehow messed up our reservation and cancelled it 6 days beforehand, the owner was extremely helpful and communicative in ensuring us that we still had our rental and trying to figure out what went wrong (she helped get it settled in the end!). Very frustrating for both sides, but she gets 5+ stars for making sure the rental process went smoothly for us!

Simply the best!

Family emergencies made our time a challenge before we even arrived, but Lyda was the best host we could have ever hoped for! She was responsive and worked with us every step of the way - thank you, Lyda! We felt right at home immediately in the spacious, comfortable house that had everything we needed. We saw deer in the orchard every day and had coffee every morning on the back deck overlooking the lake. Being able to moor our boat there and use the dock was the icing on the cake! We hated to leave and can’t wait to return!

Newfound Lake Vacation

We have spent several summer vacations here on Newfound Lake but none as comfortable as staying at Lyda’s place! It is cozy and well stocked with everything you could possibly need! Very clean and well appointed with comfortable beds. With temperatures in the 90’s the air conditioning was a huge bonus! The convenience of the golf cart and amenities for use at Whittimore Point beach were great! We definitely want to return and stay here again! Thank you Lyda!

July Review

Our overall trip was amazing. The house had more items than listed so of course I brought too much. The owner was very responsive from the point I made the reservation. I had a daughter in law who was 8 months pregnant during our stay so I had lots of questions. Couple of things - there is a gas grill, a regular coffee maker and a K-Cup, paper towels and toilet paper are supplied. The kitchen was also stocked with garbage bags, foil and everything you would need need. There is a 2nd full size fridge in the basement which would be handy for 2 families staying together. There were a couple of country stores and a Hanafords about 10 minutes away. Couple of things that could have gone easier. It was difficult to find the house as it isn't on the main road as listed. So the actual address may be the main road but that isn't where the house is located, you had to take a left onto a side road - this was frustrating. The property had access to a beach and boat moorings which was great. Some of the condo owners were a bit rude to our adult children which wasn't necessary. Yes, were "renters' but we are and were always respectful. Overall I would definitely recommend and we actually were looking to rent for some time this winter for skiing.

our third year at Lyda's place

We've been going to Newfound Lake for over 30 years now. Lyda's place fits our needs now that we have grandchildren. It worked out well during this COVID time. My husband had to participate in his Zoom meetings. Lyda has the easy access wifi and with my laptop, it worked out well. While he was in his meeting, I was able to keep the kids occupied downstairs and then bubbles on the deck. Thank you, Lyda. we'll be back next year!

It's perfect for us and our family. We have been going to Newfound Lake for 30 years now. In the past, we rented condos. Now that we have grandchildren and our family is growing, we needed more room. Because Lyda's place is a stand alone home, you don't have to worry about bothering the neighbors, if the a baby wakes up in the middle of the night. Also, it has a huge yard for baseball games, etc. Although, it looks small in the pictures, it is deceiving. There is a lot of room! Even though it's located in New Hampshire, it can get very hot. The central air conditioning was greatly appreciated!! Lyda also has all of the stations on her tv, which made my husband happy. He didn't have to worry about missing the Red Sox, etc! Thank you, Lyda. We will be back next year!

This is a wonderful place for a family vacation!

This well maintained, clean, air conditioned home provides ample space and opportunities for families to gather and enjoy each others' company in multiple locations-the living room-dining room area, the finished basement, the back deck, and the orchard in front of the home. The refrigerators provide ample space for food and beverages.The association's property offered our grandchildren the opportunity to ride their bikes, shoot some hoops, and swing and climb on the playground equipment. The private beach and pavilion are a fun golf cart ride or walk from the house. Lyda's home is a beautiful, private location to enjoy an amazing lake and the surrounding area.

Lots of Privacy

Loved the home and the location; very private, well stocked kitchen, great beds and overall great home. The only downside I saw was that the beach is very small and very "clique". They were not very welcoming the first few days, but softened up as the week went by and they saw that although we were outsiders we were still "okay people". In addition, with little kids along there was not much else to do but the beach, unless you wanted to travel a little distance. I would definitely return there but with a different group of people.

Memorable Family Vacation!

We had a wonderful family vacation with our two children and our grandchildren at this beautiful home on Newfound Lake. The house was clean and comfortable and my daughter remarked that the pictures on line didn't do it justice. The kitchen was well-stocked with dishes and utensils and we wanted for nothing. There was plenty of room for everyone to have their own space. The children loved running and playing in the open areas around the house. They especially enjoyed the water and my five year old grandson finally felt comfortable enougn to paddle all the way to the dock with his life vest on by Thursday. This was a very big step for him as he wouldn't even take his shoes off until then. My heart soared to see the smile on his face whenever he was in the water thereafter. Thank you, Lyda, for making good your home so welcoming!

We love this place!

This is a wonderful house on a beautiful lake! We stayed here with my parents when visiting them in NH from Seattle and had a wonderful visit! The house is much bigger than it looked from the outside. Lots of sleeping space, a good size kitchen, dining area and living room. It also has a large deck with a gas grill and a HUGE yard for our kids to run around in. It was clean and pretty well stocked as well. The swimming area is a very short walk away, but the owners generously left us a golf cart for driving down as well. This was a huge hit with the kids! Also a huge hit: the sandy beach, large gazebo and raft in the crystal clear waters of Newfound Lake. We had such a great time and will definitely be back! Oh and one thing not mentioned in the description: if you have a baby this place would be great. I noticed a crib, high chair, pack n play and a stroller!

Relaxing Stay!

Upon walking into the property we were met with a clean and organized home with all the amenities we would need. It was such a comfortable relaxing stay! The house is close to the lake, downtown Bristol and hiking. The house is not right next door to another home like the homes right on the lake so you have peace and quiet and privacy. Lyda, the owner, is very responsive and accommodating. She was eager to make our stay the very best it could be! I would not hesitate to stay in this home again. Newfound Lake is absolutely beautiful and one of the most beautiful places I have visited. I am a lifetime fan!

This home was beautifully furnished, maintained and well stocked with common essentials, bedding, etc. Property was well maintained and the use of the tennis courts, playground, basketball court, and volley ball area was great. The Newfound Lake area is beautiful and scenic with plenty of antiquing and gift shops, local hiking trails, Polar Caves. Meredith, Weirs Beach and Funspot are only a 20-30 minute drive for more shops and activities. Great sightseeing of the White Mountains is 30 minutes away. Great for families and hiking enthusiast. The only slight downfall was that the lake was a short walk from the house, however the owner has a golf cart for the tenant's use which is great and convenient. I would highly recommend this location to any family and we hope to be back next year.

Sibling Reunion

My siblings and I enjoyed a fabulous stay at the Whittemore Shore Cottage. Everything was just as it showed in the pictures. The home was very clean with plenty of elbow room for the five adults. The beds were so comfortable - everyone was able to get a good nights sleep. We ate plenty of meals on the deck and enjoyed the wonderful view of the lake. The basement space was perfect for the one married couple in our party. They had their own recently remodeled full bathroom, a nice size bedroom and use of a flat screen tv. It was nice having use of the golf cart to get to the lake beach. The water in the lake is crystal clear and for it only being late June, the water was warm enough to swim. The house is close to some nice eateries and attractions too. Myself and my siblings would definitely stay here again! Thanks again Lyda for the use of your beautiful home. We took away some great memories.
