A truly peaceful setting: Our large natural-stone house (220 m²), built in 1752 (!!), features antique details (old stone floors, exposed beams, lovingly restored) and plenty of character, and is situated on a hillside with a stunning view. The landscape is unspoiled, with many old chestnut and cherry trees. Relax on the balcony or on one of the terraces in the garden—sunny and shady spots invite you to forget the stresses of everyday life. Swimming spots (rivers and lakes) are within easy reach, and it’s a good hour’s drive to the ocean. You’ll be booking the ground floor for up to 6 people, which includes a large kitchen-diner, 2 bedrooms, and 2 bathrooms, plus a large living room on the upper floor, where there are 2 additional bedrooms.
Please note that large events or parties with outside guests are strictly prohibited!
Special features: Many original details, lovingly restored (new kitchen downstairs, installed in 2011). Ideal for a cosy family holiday or for hiking or biking groups. For larger groups of up to 12 people, you can also book the entire house; you can find the description and prices here: https://www.fewo-direkt.de/ferienwohnung-ferienhaus/p21391?dateless=true.. Sit together comfortably or find a spot in the sunny or partially shaded garden to enjoy the magnificent view of the Orb Valley... From the lower apartment, you can also step out onto the small “Placette,” a square lovingly restored by the villagers themselves, where people like to meet for a little chat—you’ll be warmly welcomed!
Nearby airports: Toulouse = 125 km (direct flights available from many German airports) and Béziers = approx. 50 km
Biking—whether powered by an engine or muscle power.....!!: An ideal area for motorcyclists: You’ll find a wide variety of routes—from mountain passes to winding “race tracks” to off-road gravel trails—everything your heart desires. On most of these routes, you’ll also ride (almost) undisturbed—no annoying RVs, tour buses, or similar nuisances...—riding fun guaranteed!!
Mountain bikers: Here, too, you have a wide variety of options. Choose between challenging mountain tours or rides through the forests and fields of the nearby high plateau.
Road cyclists will also find a wide range of difficulty levels on the well-maintained roads: Valley/Mountain/High Plateau
You can start hiking tours right from the house—or drive to one of the locations described in many guidebooks (such as the “Gorges d’Heric”) and begin tours of varying difficulty levels there.
