Tiehacker Lodging is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the beauty of Alaska!

Located just 7 miles outside of Seward Alaska in the Bear Lake subdivision. Tiehacker Lodging is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the beauty of Alaska. Guests can hike the nearby trails, watch the eagles soar, view fish and sometimes bears at the Bear Lake Weir, or visit any of the many local attractions.

An upstairs apartment with 1200 square feet of private space. We offer our guests clean, comfortable and spacious accommodations. The apartment features 3 bedrooms,1 bathroom, a full kitchen, dining room, living room and laundry. We will do our best to help you enjoy your visit to beautiful Seward Alaska!

This is an upstairs apartment. Owners reside in the apartment below the unit. In previous years the lower unit was the rental. All reviews dated prior to 2022 were related to the lower unit.

Please note that the stated room rate is based on double occupancy (2 people). There is a $25 per person per night fee for each additional guest after 2 and the property sleep up to 6 people.

Clean and very comfortable. The bedding was quite nice - softest sheets!! The kitchen was well-stocked and everything was in good working order. Lovely, wooded neighborhood - very quiet and peaceful. We found the location to be quite convenient - it’s about a 10min drive to Safeway for groceries and just another 2-3min past that and you’re in downtown Seward.

Just what we needed

Great place to stay for us five adults! A short drive from Seward in the woods near a creek. Plenty of space to spread out, easy access and a fully furnished kitchen. Everything was tidy and exactly as described. The hosts were very helpful as well and we definitely recommend Tiehacker Lodging,

This house was in the perfect location and was exceptionally clean with everything a family could need for a stay in the Seward area. The hosts live on property but were very hospitable and gave us privacy. There was plenty of parking, convenient to Seward, groceries, and amenities, and was easy to find. The beds were comfortable and encased in sealed mattress protectors. The kitchen was well stocked and there was a washer and dryer! We would definitely stay there again!

Very functional stay!

We really enjoyed our stay in Seward. The house was very large for us, 2 couples, with a nice size kitchen and dining room and a comfortable couch in the family room. The beds were very comfortable. I would highly recommend this place to other visitors!

Not very peaceful and seems like an impound lot of the owners vehicles, the property didn’t add to the Alaska experience we were hoping for.

Beautiful place inside and out. We loved the close walk to the salmon weir, and a short drive to Seward. The apartment was well more than well equipped for everything we needed. Everything was smooth, and the view of the mountain is just gorgeous.
