The property also comes with bi-weekly pool service for sparkling water, and weekly lawn and gardening service to provide the perfect setting for total relaxation. In addition to the 46 foot negative edge infinity pool, there is a separate heated dipping pool which holds about 8 people, and an outdoor shower. Gaze out toward the sea and your own personal stretch of coastline from the infinity pool at your upcoming vacation, wedding, family reunion or other large gathering. Casa Gemelos is a short walk to the lovely Punta Sur area with shops and hiking path, or a quick taxi or golf cart ride to such attractions as the world-renowned Playa Norte, nightlife on Ave Hildago, and shopping and restaurants in Centro. Each bedroom contains a king bed, high thread count cotton sheets and cotton coverlets. For additional sleeping, an extra twin bed can also be set up in each bedroom (upon request a minimum of 48 hours prior to arrival). Each bedroom is equipped with a safe for guests to store their important belongings. Get ready to listen to the waves crashing on shore and watch for dolphins and giant sea turtles while enjoying the vast outdoor space and pool. The place is just as listed! Beautiful place. We had 3 couples and we had plenty of privacy and access to main area at anytime. Breath taking views from patio. Maureen was exceptional with communication and property management was excellent. Would definitely come back for sure
Casa Gemelos was an amazing home for our vacation. We loved the location on the island, the incredible view, the beautiful infinity pool and the comfortable and clean accommodations. The owners gave us lots of delicious recommendations for where to eat and were a pleasure to visit with.
Casa Gemelos is a gem of a vacation rental!!
We had a trip with two other couples on the island. This house is 100% as listed. View was breathtaking and the pool was perfect. The housekeeping and pool folks made sure it was clean every day. Perfect house for our trip!
We are very pleased with our recent stay at Casa Gemelos! It had all the amenities we needed for our family of 4 and the other family of 4 staying with us. There was plenty of room for everyone. The pool was amazing and the distance from the busy north beach/Hidalgo area was just right.
The property manager and the owners were very accommodating. We will definitely stay there again.
Beautiful home on the less busy SE side of the island. Well equipped with games and a lovely pool. The beds were super comfortable! AC was very cold. We all enjoyed our stay. It is a bit challenging to get down to the water but more easily accessible beaches are nearby. Would highly recommend this home for your vacation.
Beautiful property. Location is a little far from shopping and restaurants, though the island is small so if you've rented a golf cart it's no big deal. The daily maid service comes at 730am, so if you like to sleep in, you may not get serviced. Hot water did not work the first day. Property manager was quick to address, although by the 3rd day it was not working again. I'm sure they would have quickly addressed again if we would have called, but the cool shower was nice on our sunburns. We will definitely stay again!

Summer Fun and Relaxation on the Isla Mujares
Casa Gemelos was a great location for our late summer get away. Located on the south end of Isla Mujares, the property is situated ocean side on the quiet end of the island. The house (actually 2 houses connected by a breezeway) is just turning 1 year old in September. It is well made, mostly of concrete, so it's easy to keep cool. Room specific, ductless A/C units make it easy to control the temperature throughout the interior. The beds and the bedding are state of the art and very comfortable. Between the house and the ocean lies a vanishing edge swimming pool dedicated to the Casa Gemelos clients. Large Iguanas often patrol the pool deck and rarely turn down any fruit offered to them (bananas, apples and watermelon were popular). Pelicans and other sea birds frequent the skies.
Our family enjoyed swimming with the dolphins at the Dolphin Adventure as well as a trip to the sea turtle hatchery to see how sea turtles are brought in to the world and raised until they are big enough to fend for themselves in the ocean. Food was great. Eating in is always an option with the large kitchen area and the island grocery store to stock up on your supplies. We also enjoyed a morning of snorkeling and got a first hand look and the underwater scenery at the reef. The beach was hot mid-day (it was August) so we often would take a break in the middle of the day that the Mexicans call siesta (I call it nap time) and return to the North Beach late afternoon (4-5pm) and enjoy a cooler, less populated beach along with our pre-dinner cocktails. Fine dining in the beach area was abundant.
From a procedural standpoint, recommend getting plenty of pesos on the front end of your trip so you don't have to pay any surcharges associated with using American money or depend on the natives to give you correct change. You also need a golf cart to get from the house to the rest of the island. They usually rent for $50/day American and are really fun to drive...stay to the right as much as possible to leave plenty of passing room for cabs and motorcycles. Getting to the island is also easy. Services are available to take you from the airport to the ferry and back again.
We really enjoyed our trip and would wholeheartedly recommend to our friends and family.

Disliked: Communication
Beautiful home but some unresolved issues
Casa Gemelos is such a beautiful property but unfortunately we had a few issues during our stay that dampened our experience. We were a group of 6 adults, each needing a bed (6 beds). I double checked before we arrived this would be possible and confirmed the set up with the host- a twin pullout bed and king bed in each room, no problem. Lo and behold, when we arrived the twin beds in each room were not available. Our group had to share beds the first night, which we booked Casa Gemelos with 6 beds specifically to avoid doing. There was no other option than to make it work for the first night but it was obviously a big inconvenience.
The second issue was with the hot tub- when we arrived the property manager told us it was broken/missing a part and we needed to reach out to the maintenance manager if we wanted it fixed during our stay. We contacted the maintenance manager the next day who adamantly stated it was not broken, demanded to know who told us it was broken, and said "its a spa, not a hot tub"- as if we were the ones who were expecting something other than what we had been told previously by the property manager. Broken or not- we were just relaying what we were told, and we would have hoped there would be better communication between the property managers to avoid us being in the middle of this miscommunication somehow. Beyond that, if there is a known repair needed, it should just be fixed without us having to get involved and interrogated about it.
The third issue was on one of the days we were without electricity and running water for 3 hours in the morning and then on and off for the rest of the day- which impacted our ability to sleep comfortably ( no AC) shower, or use the toilets. They did send a repair crew out but it was a big inconvenience- especially in the early morning.
Again, beautiful property but a couple big issues left us with a less than 5-star experience.
I would never stay anywhere else. The location, the staff and the owner were amazing. Every question was answered, any recommendations were above and beyond. Not only will I return, I will send it to friends and family and urge them to see the island and this property.
This is a great place to stay with wonderful hosts. We had plenty of space to spread out. The views were awesome and their restaurant recommendations were spot on. Maureen and her friend were super sweet to our 2 year old grandson. We would definitely stay here again
The property is amazing! You will not regret booking this house.

AhMaZing Home!
GORGEOUS home with the best view on the island! We were a group of 6 and all had our own clean and quiet quarters, including separate living room and kitchens. We were fortunate enough to stay there with the home owners who's hospitality exceeded all expectations. The infinity pool overlooks the ocean it is a dream! Would recommend to anyone. We are in love with Casa Gameos!

Beautiful, Relaxing, Adventurous, Fun!
Fantastic twin houses, each with 3 bedroom suites and kitchen/living area . . . 6 bedrooms total . . . connected by a palapa breezeway leading to a spectacular negative edge pool looking over the Caribbean.
We were with a group of 6 couples - we sat in the pool, hiked along the coast and to the Mayan ruins at Punta Sur, rode golf carts to many great restaurants & bars, did shopping site-seeing, snorkeling and listened to live music. Some friends did scuba diving or fishing excursions. The caretakers and all of the locals are so friendly.
We highly recommend it for families or groups of couples looking for a fun and uncrowded get-away!

Gorgeous property, amazing pool, wonderful hospitality!
We stayed on the North side of Casa Gemelos and had an absolutely wonderful experience! First off, location: the home itself is situated on the quiet end of the island, which was extremely peaceful and relaxing, but we were still within a 10-15 minute golf cart ride to downtown and North Beach, which was always a fun ride. There were many other restaurants close by, and many that were willing to deliver, so accessibility was never a problem. I would definitely recommend renting a golf cart for your stay, but the taxi service is also good if you'd rather not drive and they typically pick you up fairly quickly.
Second - accommodations: the infinity pool is unbelievable. The pictures are exactly as advertised and we used the pool EVERY day. The four year old we had with our group absolutely loved it, and since the ocean is a little dangerous to swim in on this side of the island (due to strong currents), we had the best of both worlds: a safe place to swim with an absolutely stunning view of the ocean. The main social room - a combination of living/dining/kitchen was beautiful. We cooked in the kitchen -- which was stocked with plenty of great equipment -- and it was very well laid out for large group cooking and meals. Also - you don't need to buy bottled water! We were pleasantly surprised when we showed up to learn that there is a large jug of filtered water (as well as several refills) available for our consumption. The rooms were all beautiful and equipped with A/C, with the gem being the master bedroom, which has a stunning view of the ocean, access to an upper, shaded deck with outdoor bed/hammock, and a jacuzzi.
Third - hospitality: Roberto and Judy (the daily caretakers) are wonderful people. They were always exceptionally courteous and accommodating, and even checked to ensure the baby travelling with us wasn't asleep before using any cleaning or gardening equipment that was loud. We were also lucky to share the property with the owners - Maureen and Colleen -- who stayed on the South side for half of our stay. They care a great deal about the property, were very gracious hosts (telling us about the best spots to eat at / visit, helping us with any concerns, even giving us a golf cart ride back to the ferry), and were just fun to be around!
We would definitely do a repeat trip here! This is a great place not only for families, but also a fun, swanky place to stay with a group of couples. Wonderful all-around!

Best Place EVER!!!
We just arrived home today after 14 days at Casa Gemelos!!!!! Oh my goodness what a wonderful Casa!!!! This is our second time to stay there and it was once again heavenly!!! Paradise for sure!!!! We have stayed at many homes on Isla, and none compare to Casa Gemelos!! Roberto and Judith, the caretakers, are wonderful and were very attentive to our needs. Maureen, the owner, was REALLY wonderful to work with!! For a few days the pool was so warm I could have floated in it all day long...and did!!!!! The owners provide everything needed for a tremendous time. The furnishings are lovely and the bathrooms are spa-like!! We ordered pizza from Italy Pizza!!! Oh my gosh!!! The cream cheese crust was over the top awesome...it is not too rich...it is PERFECT!!! A fun place that we found on this trip...a hidden jewel I would say, is Capitan Dulces. It is a restaurant/beach on the bay side almost across the island from Casa Gemelos. There are a few cross island roads so you can save a little time getting there. Capitan Dulces is eccentric and beautiful and has the BEST FISH CEVICHE we have ever had!!!!! They allow you to hang out on their lovely beach and order drinks and food. It is a must see...the art installation near the restrooms is quite amazing! Well, that is about it! Casa Gemelos will spoil you for sure and you will not want to stay any other place on Isla!!! Oh! One more thing the views of the south end of the island from Casa are stupendous!!!

PARADISE
Prior to our trip I knew we would love Casa Gemelos but it far exceeded our expectations. Maureen was extremely helpful with my NUMEROUS questions before arriving and the house had everything you could ever want or need. I have stayed in many condo’s in the U.S. where you must bring many of your own items (toilet paper, garbage bags, shampoo/conditioner, etc) but Casa Gemelos had EVERYTHING and more! We loved being away from the action and we never felt unsafe.
Unfortunately it rained our entire trip so we didn’t get to enjoy the pool as much as we had hoped but we made the best of it (you can’t control the weather!). There were 3 couples in our group and this home provided so much privacy as all of the bedrooms were separate but had the shared common space. The couple who maintains the home, Judith and Roberto were wonderful! They are the kindest couple and do such a great job keeping the home and grounds in beautiful condition. We were never hot--a/c worked great! Very comfortable beds too! Watching dolphins from the patio was so cool!
Don’t be afraid to go out and explore! I truly LOVE this island, I left there feeling like I had been on vacation! I never wore makeup, fixed my hair and wore casual clothes all week and that is generally NOT how I vacation…. I don’t want to do it any other way!! We can’t wait to go back again!
Due to the weather, all we did was eat and drink! Here were some of our favorite places we went. We NEVER had a bad meal!
Breakfast:
Mango Café, San Martin, Caribbean Brisa , Roosters (delicious muffins and coffee drinks), Barlito’s (TONS of food!), Ruben’s
Dinner:
Bahama Mama, Oscars, Bally Hoo, Basto’s, Soggy Peso (we spent LOTS of time here!! Fantastic food, margaritas and the staff/owners made us feel like family!)

5 star experience in EVERY way!
I had the fortune to stay 7 wonderful days at this amazing property. Nothing can beat swimming in the pool and listening to the waves. Even though we were there in August, at the house it was always comfortable. The constant ocean breeze allowed us to hang out on the porch and not even break a sweat!
Everything at Casa Gemelos is first rate. I am very picky when it comes to mattresses and pillows, and I was VERY comfortable. The furnishings were very comfortable. My favorite was the lounge chair in the pool with its own umbrella!
I could write a book about all the wonderful things about my first trip to Isla Mujeres. I loved the location of the house at the more relaxed south point. You can see the ruins from the back of the house which was a nice plus. I can't wait to return!

Jubilant in July!
Great for a family get away. Big common areas and kitchens for entertaining. We had two chefs come in and cook for a large group and all were able to participate. Separate sleeping areas allowed you to get away and have some quite time. The pool is over the top! So relaxing...
About the host
Hosted by Maureen McFadden
Casa Gemelos was built by two couples who are best friends. We live in Austin, Texas and have dinner at least three nights a week. Our goal is to retire on Isla Mujeres in about 8 years.
Why they chose this property
We love Isla Mujeres. We have traveled up and down the Mexican Riviera looking for a place to build. Isla Mujeres became our spot!
What makes this property unique
The plan for the house was started with soap boxes stacked on top of each other. The final product exceeded our expectations. Listening to the sound of the waves on the patio or from the swinging beds on the balcony, is absolute heaven.
