The house is located at the gateway to the medieval town, giving you easy access on foot to all the local shops: bakery/pastry shop, butcher's, delicatessen, cheesemongers, mini-markets, cafés and restaurants...

🏠La Maison Secrète is a totally independent townhouse on 2 levels of 80 m2 with a private terrace, able to accommodate 2 to 4 people comfortably to feel at home.
🌼 In fine weather, it's pleasant to take advantage of its small terrace to relax and enjoy your meals in peace and quiet, a rare pleasure in Sarlat.
❄️ In winter, the fireplace is a great place to spend cosy evenings. You can also enjoy the nearby Christmas market (listed as one of the most beautiful in Aquitaine), the truffle market and the fat market... You're also just a stone's throw from the famous Sarlat Film Festival.

Excellent stay in Sarlat. The house is ideally located. The center of Sarlat is easily accessible by foot. The house is functional and well maintained. The landlady - Sandrine - is extremely nice and professional. I would recommend this house.

Nice house, great location.

I love Sarlat; it makes me happy just to be there. The house is charming, on a quiet street, and a good location. There are utility charges if you use too much.

Stay in Sarlat in March 2023

The property is beautifully decorated, clean and functional. Great location, short walk to the city centre and right next to a car park which was free for the period we stayed. Marc and Sandrine were very kind to pick us up from the train station on our arrival and were very helpful with suggestions of what to see and do in the area. Highly recommend this place to stay in Sarlat.

Great location in Sarlat

We were 10 days in Sandrines appartement and had a great time! The appartement was clean and really nice and there was evereything we needed. Sandrine was a very kind and helpful host and available via mobile. Sarlat ist a great location for daytrips around the périgord and we never had struggle to find a parking space. Also shops und restaurants are near the appartement. The little park around the corner was perfect for our little dachshund.

La Maison Secrète is a comfortable and well-equipped base for exploring both Sarlat and the surrounding Périgord and Lot regions. The house is ideally situated in a quiet location at the foot of the historic medieval town, offering easy access to shops, restaurants, and local attractions. I was amazed at what little noise there was considering how close it is to the centre of Sarlat.You will find everything you need in La Maison Secrète for a comfortable stay. Communication with Sandrine was excellent right from the moment of booking. Very welcoming with a wealth of local knowledge of places to visit in the area. Also great advice on all of the free parking around Sarlat. Don't let the lack of a parking space at the house put you off. We had no trouble parking for free the entire week we were there, in the areas Sandrine pointed out to us.

Marc & Sandrine we’re there to greet us and show us around the apartment. They are a lovely couple that provided us with local information and any help that we needed throughout our stay. The location is ideal. On a quiet street but in the center of town. Unfortunately, we got sick but fortunately we’re able to recover in a comfortable place. Literally, just a few minutes walk away from restaurants, groceries, pharmacies and all of the beauty that Sarlat has to offer. We used Sarlat as base to explore the ancient villages throughout the Dordogne valley. We hope to come back again and pick up where we left off.

Nice cottage on the edge of the old town.

Unseasonably cold and wet weather rather depressed our stay in this lovely cottage. The cottage was exactly as described and the owners extremely helpful, even carrying our baggage up the stairs. The house was probably not ideal for our age group (over 80) due mainly to the extremely steep stairs to the bathroom and bedrooms. We also found the uphill walk to the free parking quite taxing. The cottage is wonderfully situated near to numerous restaurants and two excellent boulangeries one of which must make the best pastries in france.

Fabulous Location … great shops and food

Apt is in a Quiet spot; nicely equipped. We walked a lot and loved it. Check out all the side streets and back alleys. There are hidden gems everywhere. Do a tour of the local Manor Gisson. Hang out at Le Pub for a wine or beer. Recommend the Maison Lissajoux - bakery; nice spot for coffee with incredible baked goods. Hosts speak both French and English. Don’t miss the market days. Parking nearby…. learn the rules and all will be fine. We did quite a bit of driving round and touring as there is Lots to see in this medieval area - although we enjoyed hanging around the town quite a bit and enjoyed many of their restos .

Wunderschöner Urlaub

Wir haben zu dritt (Mama mit Tochter und Hündin) eine wunderschöne Woche in Sarlat-la-Canéda verbracht. Wir wurden bei unserer Ankunft von Sandrine herzlich empfangen und mit vielen nützlichen Informationen versorgt, die einen sehr schönen Urlaub ermöglichen (Parken, Essen, Ausflüge,...). Sie ist sehr nett, fürsorglich und bei Fragen immer erreichbar. Das Haus ist gemütlich und stilvoll eingerichtet und befindet sich in einer kleinen Gasse am Rande der Altstadt (Vorsicht: beidseitig als Einbahnstraße ausgeschildert, aber als Anwohner darf man kurz vor dem Haus halten). Für unsere Hündin gab es genügend Grünflächen in unmittelbarer Nähe. Es gibt zwar keinen Parkplatz direkt vor dem Haus, aber ca. 200m entfernt gibt es einen kostenlosen Parkplatz und in unmittelbarer Nähe des Hauses befindet sich ein kostenpflichtiger Parkplatz, auf dem man jedoch von 19:00-9:00 kostenlos parken kann. Zudem kann man 1h täglich in der ganzen Stadt kostenlos parken. In der Umgebung von Sarlat befinden sich sehr viele Ausflugsziele. Wir haben einen wunderschönen Urlaub verbracht und kommen gerne wieder.

Maison très agréable

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour dans le Périgord et plus particulièrement dans la Maison Secrète. Nous avons beaucoup apprécié la proximité du centre ville historique, de ses commerçants et de son marché. La maison était propre, fonctionnelle et l'intérieur était très joliment aménagé et décoré dans les moindres détails. La propriétaire nous a très gentiment accueillie et communiqué les sites incontournables à visiter et les bonnes adresses (restaurants, producteurs de foie gras...). Au delà de l'agréable séjour que nous avons passé dans le Périgord, nous vous recommandons la Maison Secrète dans laquelle, je suis sur, vous aurez de très bons souvenirs. Excellent séjour.
