This house in the heart of the medieval town of SARLAT, 20 minutes from Lascaux 4 and at the crossroads of all the most visited sites of Dordogne is ideally located on more than 1600 square meters of garden overlooking the roofs of the medieval city and close to the historic center, this farmhouse completely restored and tastefully decorated enjoys all the necessary comfort.

Composed on the ground floor of a large living room of 60 square meters and a fully equipped kitchen, you will have upstairs two large bedrooms and a bathroom and a shower room.

Deposit of 350 euros to be delivered directly on the spot at the arrival at the handing of the keys.

We really enjoyed our stay in Sarlat. The house was comfortable and is in a great location for touring and dining in Sarlat. The town is very charming and there are a lot of intesting places to visit in the area.

The perfect location

Four minutes walk to the main square of Sarlat, and so quiet and peaceful. If you like eating out or just strolling around the town, you couldn't have a better location.

A week in Sarlat

Very well located property a short walk from the centre of Sarlat. Very well equipped for self catering, very friendly owner.2 tiny suggestions:A clear sign at the top of the drive would make initially finding the wonderfully tucked away property easier.Clearer instructions on where to find the public bins.Overall a very enjoyable stay, and we would not hesitate to return.

Wonderful house 5 minutes from town

We had a wonderful 10 days in this beautiful home. The house was very spacious and well equipped with everything we needed for our stay. The walking path from the front door took us into Sarlat in just 5 minutes. Sophie was very responsive to any questions we had and provided us with some suggestions for restaurants in town. We would highly recommend this house.

I can't add much to the other reviews for this property. The house is lovely and the location (2 minutes walk to centre) is great. Only problems was getting to the house but Sophie was excellent in helping us.

Sophie’s place

Sophie’s house was a perfect place for two couples. There was lots of space and it was well equipped. The location is great. It is a short walk to the centre of the town via a walking path. Although it is close to the city centre it feels very rural and is quiet. We had beautiful weather so we enjoyed eating breakfast and dinner out on the patio.

There are two choices for parking: a designated space at the top of the hill adjacent to the entrance of the sloped lane, or you can drive down the lane to the house - which can be a little tricky depending on what car you drive. Down a few garden steps is a lovely terrace and south facing patio which leads to the entrance. The benefit of leaving your car up top of the hill-which we did- is that it won’t detract from the house’s charming position: perched high over Sarlat, it is surrounded by little meadows. The house is spacious, and has a very cosy, private feeling. And yet it is closer to the medieval centre than we first thought. Through a garden gate and down some steps, a paved public path runs through an ancient neighborhood below, leading you to one of Sarlat’s squares. From front door to the square is maybe a five minute walk. If you can, plan your visit around the Saturday market which is held in the town center.This property is a gem. The kitchen is well appointed, the living area and bedrooms spacious. A short drive in almost any direction will take you to any number of castles and villages.Our host was very gracious and most helpful. We are already planning our return visit!

Rustic Elegance

This gorgeous cottage is Peaceful,bucolic,and close to everything including just steps from the beautifully preserved village of SarlatSophie has exceptional taste in decor and provided everything you could possibly need, including washer and dryer, plenty of towels, dinnerware,table linens and even spices.We spent much of our time on the beautiful patio, and also visited local prehistoric cave art, took a cruise on the Dordogne River, and rode bicycles on a scenic paved trail in Sarlat. Sophie is the “hostess with the mostest”We would return in a heartbeat!!

Fabulous house in a great location!

Sophie’s house was very pretty, extremely well equipped and spacious. It was only a short walk into the centre of Sarlat and there was plenty of outside space and garden furniture. It is little difficult to find as it is hidden down the driveway so a direction map would be useful. However, this did not detract from a wondeful stay. Highly recommended!!

Lovely property, very well equipped and clean. Five minute walk down steps and a path into the centre of Sarlat. Very convenient. Clearer instructions on how to locate the property would be helpful. Good parking down the steep driveway, best to reverse. Sophie answered any queries I had very quickly by email.
