About this property

Delightful Lake Erie Cottage

Located less than a mile west of Barcelona Harbor just off of Route 5 in a quiet rural setting. Close to a small wooded area with a nice path to a beautiful private beach. We are directly in the heart of wine country and a short drive to Chautauqua Institution which offers concerts, theater, world famous speakers as well as 2 - 18 hole golf courses. Also located close by is Midway Amusement Park, Panama Rocks and Peek n Peak as well as many other points of interest. Cottage is fully furnished including linens. The roomy larger bedroom has 2 full size beds. Second bedroom has a queen size bed. There is 1 bathroom, washer and dryer, full kitchen, dining area and living room. Cottage has cable and internet and rents from Saturday to Saturday during the months of June, July and August.

Erie was great!

We loved staying at the house. It has a beautiful path to the rocky beach where we fished for steelhead and looked for beach glass. It’s easy to get around the area and a great base camp if you’re day-tripping to Buffalo, Erie or Niagara

Comfortable Cottage by the Lake

Dale’s cute cottage is a great place to stay to relax and enjoy the lake. It’s clean, quiet, with updated amenities, comfortable beds, and all the comforts of home. Only wish our schedule this trip to Westfield would have allowed us to spend more time right there. We’ll look forward to another stay when we can do just that.

Relaxing get away

Cottage was exactly as pictured. You could hear the lake waves from the front porch of the cottage and see some of it through the trees. The walk down to the lake was short and there were chairs waiting for you on the beach.

My sister and I were looking for somewhere to stay close to Steel Run Campground. Another sister was camping there with her trailer. Your cottage was cute, clean and very accommodating. Very thankful that you have A/C and fully stocked! We would like to book it again next year!

Lovely Lake Cottage

We had a fabulous time at this lovely cottage. It was truly a short walk to a semi-private beach where we spent hours collecting beautiful sea glass. We enjoyed a campfire along the path to the beach where a fire pit with seating and ample firewood was available. The home was clean and comfortable. The host was very responsive and provided a recommendation for where to get fresh fish to cook at the cottage. We only wish that our stay was longer. We hope to return!

Cottage had everything we needed. Very cute. You could tell it was a little older with some structural and construction details-but that didn’t matter to us. Gave it 4 stars for cleanliness only because Dale thought we were coming the next day and didn’t have a chance to do a thorough clean-everything important was nice and clean though-but there were some cobwebs. Love the beach! Thanks for a fun weekend!

Wonderful Stay

Quaint cabin in perfect location and short walking access to Lake Erie. Besides being so close to the lake the accommodations were close to Westfield, the Barcelona Lighthouse and the public beach & boat launches (5 minutes max drive). WiFi was easy to connect to along with Smart TV for access to personal streaming apps. The Matthews were responsive to inquiries in a very timely manner. AC units available, but hardly had to use - Great Lake breezes.

We have lived in the area ever since we got married in 1989. We both grew up coming to the beach here as kids and in fact the house that we live in was a seasonal family cottage that we have turned into a year round home. We have always loved it here and we have 6 kids and they all also love it here.

Why they chose this property

We bought this property because it is right next to our home. We feel that we are very blessed to live in such a beautiful place and we love to share it with others.

What makes this property unique

Our cottage is in a great location. It is very relaxed here. We have a small wooded area and a private beach which is really one of the best in the area. There are also so many things to see and do within a 30 mile radius of us. Also since we are right next door we are we will do anything we can to make sure your stay is memorable and enjoyable.
