This is our fifth year at HH 2 .. plan to be back again next year … Missy and now Susan have always been great ! Very quiet and secluded ..Everything is just perfect !
Great location. Central to everything on the island. House was comfortable and clean and had all the essentials, however it is basic and nothing fancy. True to the pictures.
We really enjoyed our stay. It was the perfect home base for exploring Acadia. Everything was as described. We were pleasantly surprised to find plenty of food storage containers and cooking supplies.
Kitchen was well stocked and the openness to the community spaces, living room a dining was great. We liked how the bedrooms and adjacent bathrooms were on either side of the living room, for privacy. There were comfortable spaces to sit in bedrooms and living room. The seclusion of the house, the wooded lot contributed to the quiet. The owner/host of the house was available when we needed her.
Terrific house in an ideal location for exploring Acadia National Park and surrounding area. The home was beautiful and light filled and had everything that we needed. We would definitely stay here again!
this was my third time up in the bar harbor area. It was great to stay in a new location, this house in the woods in seal harbor is right up the road from a beach and easy to get to surrounding trails.
Great location with easy access to Acadia National Park. Easy drive into Bar Harbor. The house was well equipped, Wi-Fi was excellent and the open layout of the house worked well for us. The owner was very responsive. Would definitely stay at Hidden House ll again.

We are so happy that you have enjoyed our home enough to keep returning. We love it too and always feel closer to my parents when we are in Maine.
Wishing you all the best
We truly enjoyed our stay at the Hidden House II. The space worked well for me, my daughter and our dog, and we were close to many Acadia hikes throughout Mount Desert Island. As one of the other reviewers mentioned, it was the best home base. We would gladly return.

Spacious and Close to Both Bar Harbor and Southwest Harbor
We enjoyed our stay at this Seal Harbor rental. The kitchen had everything we needed. The open floor plan was spacious with a large dining table and plenty of couch seating. We loved that we could get to our favorite hikes in any direction in 20 or so minutes. In the evening we had great stargazing right on the property.
What a home! Comfortable and cozy and super clean, with everything you need. It’s away from the hubbub of Bar Harbor but only takes 10 minutes to get there or NE area. Wonderful hikes are also so close, and can walk down to seal harbor beach or the cute little block of town.

If you want to be close to everything but avoid the hustle and bustle of Bar Harbor, stay here. We were 15 minutes from Bar Harbor and 5 minutes from entrance to Acadia. The backyard is a quiet little oasis. The House is a little older, but no issues. It was clean and well kept. Highly recommend!

We totally agree- it is an amazing oasis- location , location location !!
This house is in a wooded area, yet with houses close by. It's very quiet there. Also, it's very dark at night. The house is clean and well stocked. It was very comfortable. This was our third time staying there. We recommend it.
Hidden House II is fantastic. The house is located in the woods in Seal Harbor within walking distance of Acadia National Park and it’s numerous trails and carriage roads. The house is well equipped, exceptionally maintained and private. My wife and I highly recommend Hidden House II.

About the host

My husband and I live in Palo Alto, California for most of the year, but I have been spending part of each summer in Seal Harbor since I was a young girl. Now we go there to spend time with our children and grandchildren. It is the perfect spot for relaxed family time in a beautiful national park setting.
Why they chose this property
My father, who served as President of Harvard University for many years, built this house for my mother and himself to enjoy in their retirement years.
What makes this property unique
Very livable home in a quiet, secluded location close to the national park and all its features and activities.
