About this property

Quiet Spacious Property in Newport Harbor/Saugatuck Douglas

Our house is located in Newport Harbor, a peaceful quiet location very close to Douglas and Saugatuck downtowns and to the Douglas and Saugatuck beaches. With wide open spaces in the front and the back, it is pleasurable for early rises and sunset watchers. The sun rises behind the Kalamazoo River and the deck looks at a pond where the sun sets.
The location is also great for bicycling and canoeing. We have 4 single person kayaks, a 3 seat canoe and a dock to launch them into the Kalamazoo River leading to the Saugatuck Harbor area, and Michigan Lake. The beaches and Saugatuck is 3 miles if one wants to bicycle.
With four spacious bedrooms, each with a walk in closet, a large living room with a vaulted ceiling it can accommodate large groups up to 10 people. The full kitchen and outside grill areas will add convenience to your stay.

We had a wonderful stay while visiting Saugatuck! The house was perfect for our family, with spacious living areas, plenty of room for the kids, and a peaceful atmosphere. The large outdoor space was a great bonus for relaxing and playing. The location was excellent, close to everything we wanted to do while still feeling private and quiet. Very nice quiet area. Lovely house that served the needs of our extended family for Hope College graduation weekend. Comfortable beds, clean rooms, kitchen is not huge but well equipped. We took full advantage of the nice outdoor deck and yard.

My family and I loved this property. Spacious, with a good sized living room with a fireplace. We spent a lot of time in this room, hanging out with a fire going. It's right next to the dining room and kitchen, so we could still talk with whomever was cooking each day. The home is bright and sunny throughout. The view from the front is a lovely, slow moving river. We had a direct view of nesting swans. The back view off of the spacious deck is a charming pond with birds and frogs singing each night. The light pollution is low in this area, so the view of the stars is great. The neighborhood is very quiet and well kept. Saugatuck is just a few minutes drive for shopping and dining and Holland is only 20 minutes away. I highly recommend Dairy Days ice cream and Woosah Art and Coffee, both in Saugatuck. Quintessential Michigan establishments.

My family had a great time at this beautiful home in Douglas. Great location- close to both downtown Douglas and Saugatuck. The backyard is expansive and very relaxing. Plenty of space inside for our group of 7. We appreciated that the owner was available by phone to answer a couple questions we had while there. Will definitely consider a return visit!

Annual Friend Trip to MI

We had a great trip. The house was perfect for our large group. The kids loved playing yard games outside, playing tag around the house, and climbing trees. The adults enjoyed the large sunny deck. We all enjoyed the kayaks, very easy to transport to the water. Loved the quiet neighborhood, a great get away from the hecktic downtown.

Great stay in Douglas

The pictures don’t quite do it justice. Great space. This is perfect for multi-generational stays because of the first floor bed and bath. Our kids loved the huge backyard and the tree swing. We saw lots of beautiful wildlife in the backyard and we were close to all that Douglas and Saugatuck have to offer. Wonderful stay!
