Located off of Bridge Street on a private way, the house is a three minute walk to the harbor, shops and restaurants. A two minute walk to Frenchmen's Bay and at low tide you can walk across the sand bar (hence the name Bar Harbor) to Bar Island (part of Acadia). Two parking places allows you to leave the car behind when you explore and enjoy Bar Harbor. Eat inside or outside as the house has a patio with furniture and an outdoor grill. Location matters in Bar Harbor and this was great. Walking distance to pretty much everything! We had an issue with hot water one morning and the owner once contacted got everything fixed right away!!! Kudos to the owner. Excellent experience!
This was the perfect spot for my family of four to enjoy 4 days in Bar Harbor and Acadia. Easy drive to the national park. Walkable distance to all spots in town. Added bonus: parking spot with the rental. Would definitely recommend this spot.
Great location walkable to downtown area. House is roomy. Easy, convenient parking. Has little extra things like detergent and coffee filters. Would stay here again.
My family and I had a great time staying here. We had one little mishap with the heat not turning on, but we were able to get it fixed quickly thanks to help from the owner. My sister is a pianist, so she greatly enjoyed playing the piano in the living room. The location is fantastic, we were within walking distance of everything in Bar Harbor.

Liked: Location
Disliked: Communication
The positive: The location of this property is the highlight. It is within walking distance to downtown Bar Harbor, where parking is 6/ hour. The parking at this property is very good. There appears to be several units that share a driveway, and there is plenty of room to park at each unit, The driveway is well maintained. The kitchen and livingroom have most everything you would need. The table cloth was very wrinkly, but I can live with that. The price was reasonable for Bar Harbor. There is a washer and dryer in the bathroom that was well stocked with detergent and fabric softener. The negative: We never received any communication from the actual host; not after booking, at check in, or check out. I called and left a voicemail; I texted the numbers I was provided, and never received a response in return. Which created stress. Thankfully it worked out and we did figure out which unit to enter and we did not end up homeless in Bar Harbor. The top of the beds are about 14 -20 inches off the ground; maybe normal somewhere in the world, but not in the U.S.. When stripping the beds for checkout, the condition of what we found under the bedding was less than appealing. My wife wore white socks in the VRBO and noticed the bottoms of her socks were stained dark after only a couple hours. When reading the vrbo journal, others had similiar experiences; and most also praised the location.
Great location. It’s an easy and short walk to all the restaurants and the waterfront. The unit was clean and comfortable and has off street parking. I would definitely stay here again.
Tom was very communicative and the house was just as described. The VRBO was very centrally located and we loved walking to local restaurants and the land bridge for sunsets and sunrises! We would recommend this spot for a stress free Bar Harbor getaway.
I lived and worked in Bar Harbor for years and I spend as much time here as possible. My brothers and I are fortunate enough to live here year round. In 2004, we built this house for our mother.
Why they chose this property
Great location. Quiet but right in downtown Bar Harbor.
