Welcome to ' Le Pouget' a relaxing cottage for families & couples alike including all family pets! Situated in a large enclosed garden with stone BBQ, play area, Bikes, table tennis & plenty of outside games. There is a covered terrace & decking area where you can unwind with a glass of wine & enjoy a meal 'Al Fresco'! or cool off in the 5 meter timber plunge pool, large enough for adults to relax & fun for children to play in, the stairs are removable for safety. The kitchen is modern & fully equipped, also including, washing machine, dishwasher, freezer, fridge, microwave, electric hob, electric oven, Kettle, toaster, coffee machine and of course we even supply the corkscrew!!
In the lounge you will find a flat screen TV with English and French channels along with a DVD player a selection of DVD's & games . Le Pouget has 2 bedrooms, 1 double bedroom and the other with 2 single beds, we also have a double sofa bed in the lounge and inflatable mattress if needed. The shower & toilet are separate. WIFI included.


Le Pouget - Our personal touch: Our aim is to ensure that you have the holiday of your choice, whether it's family fun, away from it all relaxation or both, we will do our best to help you achieve that. Le Pouget is totally independent, no sharing of facilities with other guests and we do not live on-site, so the house, garden, pool etc is all yours for the duration of your stay. We will be there to meet you on arrival and to help you settle in and answer any questions you may have, we will then leave you with the keys and the magical ambience of Le Pouget! If you prefer to check-in independently we have a key safe for your convenience. We are only 15 minutes and a phone call away and on hand 24/7. So come and stay at Le Pouget and experience our 'little bit' of Heaven. ........

Beautiful property close to Sarlat and all its attractions

We loved the location; completely private yet close enough to Sarlat to enjoy an evening out eating in one of the many restaurants. There is so much to see and do around the area; canoeing, chateaux, beautiful villages and of course a homely, tranquil environment to return to after a day's excursions. The weather was exceptionally hot during our stay so the pool was a very welcome element of our holiday!

We had an excellent time at le pouget and and felt totally relaxed in your lovely rural setting.We had beutiful weather and took every oportunity to get in the plungepool!There was plenty to do and our daughter and her friend enjoyed our days out including the squirrel park,the caves at padirac and also the beach at tamiers.Our hosts paula barry and young reece were very friendly and helpfull and have obviously put a lot of effort into making your stay enjoyable with everything you could possibly need. thanks again john michael amy and natasha

PERFECT!!

Our family of six (two adults and four children) visited Le Pouget in April and had a perfectly wonderful time! In advance of our trip, Paula and Barry sent us information so that we could plan fun activities. They also met us at the bungalow upon arrival to answer any questions and make sure we had all that we needed. The weather was beautiful and we were able to make ample use of the pool, table tennis and patio. With four small children, we especially appreciated the many toys and activities they had in the house. The lodging was very clean and well-maintained. Paula, Barry and Reese were fabulous hosts and we thoroughly enjoyed visiting with them. We would highly recommend this rental home for a holiday...everything was perfect!

Perfect location in an idyllic setting.

Le Pouget is exactly as advertised with absolutely no disappointments.The garden is obviously the biggest draw and lives up to all expectation. Although it would appeal to people bringing children, we found it to be perfect for a couple looking for a an ideal spot to explore from during the day as well as being only 15 mins. drive into Sarlat in the evening.We went after 6pm and parking avail. was excellent.No little time spent enjoying a few glasses of wine in the garden,either! The added bonus of the E.Leclerc supermarket 10 mins down the road is that you can access their free WiFi should you need to.Paula & Barry could not be more welcoming.Places easily reached from here are Rocamadour ( stunning, but stop in car-park on hill opposite for fabulous aspect / photo )Beynac & La Roque-Gageac ( for enjoyable boat trip ). Domme is where you get the best view of the river valley and it's well worth it.Excellent location and many thanks to our lovely hosts!

Wir haben 10 wunderbare Tage in das Fetienhaus verbracht. Freundlichen Empfang vom Eigetümerpaar. Es ist alles vorhanden was mann braucht. Drausen viele Sitzmöglichkeiten im Schatten oder in der Sonne, so wie mann möchte. Ruhig gelegen mit schöne Wanderungen ab dem Haus möglich. Viele Sehenswürdigkeiten innerhalb von 15 bis 30 min Fahrt. Alles zusammen ein sehr gelungener Urlaub.

Première impression bonne ,terrain agréable petit coin extérieur joli mais la maison est moyenne le ménage n’était pas bien fait insectes morts sur plan de travail de la cuisine,toiles d’araignée dans tous les coins de toutes les pièces au plafond avec les araignées qui vont avec.Invasion de blattes dans la cuisine le mercredi matin quand je me suis levée.Literie de mauvaise qualité matelas tout mou,armoire de la chambre qui tient à peine debout du coup les vêtements sont restés dans la valise et l’armoire de l’autre chambre sentait le renfermé donc pas mieux. En ce qui concerne le salon les chaises ne sont pas adaptées à la table qui est trop basse du coup du mal à mettre les jambes ,un canapé clic clac pas top et le deuxième canapé a du faire son temps car quand vous vous installez vous vous enfoncez.Manque de confort général mobilier trop bas de gamme.Nous avons laissé la maison fermer car la semaine où nous sommes parti c’était la canicule donc nous voulions garder la fraîcheur et la nuit nous ne comprenions pas pourquoi les moustiques nous attaquaient alors que tout était fermé en fait à bien y regarder il y a un jour sur certaines fenêtres du coup les moustiques nous avaient pour cible autant dire que les nuits étaient courtes. Les plus la piscine et la région et les propriétaires sont gentils mais la maison a besoin d’être améliorée,sans parler des poignées de portes qui ne tiennent pas et que je me suis pris sur le pied,la balançoire est en triste état.

Fijne vakantiewoning

Deze fijne vakantiewoning ligt op 10 minuten rijden van Sarlat, een mooie middeleeuwse stad met veel terrasjes en restaurantjes, mooie panden en authentieke smalle straatjes. Het vrijstaande vakantiehuis is goed bereikbaar, heeft een volledig afgesloten, grote tuin met een eigen zwembad. De Engelse eigenaren wonen in de buurt, zijn heerlijk relaxed en willen heel graag dat je het als vakantieganger goed naar het zin hebt in hun woning. Je mag alles gebruiken wat er staat, van fietsen tot tafeltennistafel en speelgoed voor de kinderen. Zelf waren wij met 4 volwassenen en 2 honden die vrij konden rondlopen in de tuin. Een bakker voor heerlijk vers brood is op een paar minuten afstand met de auto maar daarvoor kun je ook 1 van de fietsen pakken. Kortom een heerlijk rustig plekje om vakantie te vieren.

A nice cottage, detached, in a quiet neighbourhood. Although the home interior is somewhat dated, everything is there. The garden is huge with a nice pool. The porch is really lovely. There is a playground for children. Even bikes are available. Sights are nearby (Sarlat, Rocamadour, Beynac, Domme). The owners are very friendly and helpful. We really had a good time here!

Lovely house with everything you didn't know you needed is there!

Really lovely properly with lovely owners who gave us a lovely welcome and send off. The house is lovely with an Overground pool, table tennis table, lilos. Secure garden and Satalite TV. Everything was there and all thought about if we needed anything. Perfect location for sarlat and beynac and the other beautiful towns in the area. 10 minute drive to sarlat and a huge supermarket. Pizzaria within 5 minutes walking distance. Lovely walks for the dog from the cottage. Highley recommeded we had a really lovely stay after waiting so long to return to the Dordogne after Covid so pleased we finally got back, thank you so much.

Maison de plein pied très bien située. Très propre, bien équipée, il y a même la "roulette" pour couper les pizzas ! Beau jardin fermé idéal pour les enfants et les toutous. Très belle piscine ceci est un plus pour nous et les enfants. Propriétaires très accueillant (merci pour les petits cadeaux de bienvenu) .... On reviendra ! !

Fantastic holiday home!

Paula and Barry were wonderful hosts, from answering questions we had before even booking, up until check out. The house is a perfect base for exploring the local area. The garden was brilliant for the kids and the pool was thoroughly enjoyed by all. So many extra bits and bobs in the house were provided which made life so much easier on arrival. Highly recommend the Pizzeria a 5 minute walk down the road. We wouldn’t hesitate to return to Le Pouget!

The house and garden were the max! I could live there. The beds were made up, there were towels, toilet paper, EVERYTHING. Randy and Paula are very friendly and made us feel at home. Nearby Sarlat le Canéda is very lovely. I highly recommend this place!

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour. Le logement est spacieux, propre et bien équipé. L’extérieur est très agréable (baignade, détente, jeux, barbecue…). Tout a été pensé pour passer de bonnes vacances ! L’emplacement est idéal pour des activités et la découverte de la région. Enjoyable vacation in a great location

The property was well-located bearing in mind our planned activities: visiting (Rocamadour, Domme and Chateau de Castelnaud), swimming (Quercyland), and canoeing (35km from Calviac-en-Périgord to Beynac-et-Cazenac). The small swimming pool at the property was great for cooling off the kids (and adults) at the end of hot days in the sun. There was a good selection of garden equipment for the kids (swings, slides, bikes, table-tennis, etc), and garden furniture (including BBQ) for relaxing in the evenings. The provision of UK satellite TV was helpful in terms of entertaining the children. The property was quiet and peaceful, set within beautiful countryside, although near enough to Sarlat to enable quick visits to the shops (e.g. the E. Leclerc hypermarché). The property looked a little more tired in terms of decoration than it had done in the promotional photographs, but that is often the case and everything was actually clean and functional. The gite's friendly and helpful owners welcomed us warmly on our arrival, and were willing to respond to any questions or concerns that we had during the week. That was reassuring. Overall, we had a really enjoyable week.

Originally from Ireland, we moved lock, stock and barrel in 2005 selling up our business and taking the plunge to this stunning region and have never looked back, especially as this has been a wonderful area to bring up our son and with easy flights back to Ireland and to the UK we can still keep in touch with our friends and family...

Why they chose this property

We kept passing this cottage on our search for our own house... We knew that we wanted to run a holiday home and after staying in a few holiday homes ourselves had a good idea what we were looking for.. we knew we wanted the property to have an enclosed garden, to be on one level so small children and guests with mobility problems had easy access, to have off street parking, a view of the countryside and to be near to our favourite medieval town of Sarlat. After giving all these details to our estate agent, she pulled out the details of ' Le Pouget'... the house that we kept passing... so of course we had to take a proper look... this is when we fell in love with the cottage and could see the potential for a relaxing atmosphere for adults and a safe, fun environment for children and the added bonus of being a stones throw from our favourite medieval town..

What makes this property unique

Location, Location, Location... not only is the cottage surrounded by countryside but only a stone's throw from all the fantastic sights of the Perigord noir ...After refurbishing our cottage and landscaping the garden we could sit back and relax and enjoy the view of the countryside and could just imagine waking up and opening the French doors from the lounge to enjoy breakfast on the terrace or listening to the birds and watching the wildlife while enjoying a glass of that our son was having as much fun as we were in the enclosed garden. One of our favourite things is sitting outside in the garden on a balmy and clear Summers night when the stars are so close it feels like you can touch them... very romantic...
