Really nice home. Perfect spot for us to visit our son. Neighborhood is quiet, but just blocks away from the heart of the campus. Owner was responsive.
This bungalow was a perfect place to stay while my friend & I took part in workshops at the Iowa Summer Writing Festival. It offered easy access to a neighborhood grocery for an evening meal while we enjoyed quiet to concéntrate on writing assignments. The rooms were well designed for comfort & much thoughtful activity. Madonna was an incredíbly responsive host. Hope we can come again!
This was our second stay at this lovely bungalow and, as before, it was a peaceful space with everything that we needed to invite our UI freshman over for quality family time and home cooked meals. We look forward to our next stay.
Absolutely the best short term rental we've ever had! Superbly situated to U of Iowa and Iowa city downtown – steps to Hancher auditorium. Tons of light, quiet, beautiful, historic neighborhood. So much attention to detail – all manner of cookware, bathroom supplies, even flashlights etc. I cook tons with a crock pot - and this place has one! The owner was very accessible and lovely to interact with. Just a delight - hope to return in the coming months!
A charming bungalow in an iconic Iowa City neighborhood, close to campus, sports, and a lively downtown.
The host is first rate, easily reached, and always helpful.
Highly recommended.
Our family was in town for move-in day at The University of Iowa. We really needed a place to stay that was convenient to downtown and preferred a peaceful place that would serve as a sanctuary from the chaos of move-in day. The Bungalow was the perfect place for our family. It allowed us to share in a family favorite meal before we flew home. The house felt like home and reflected the friendly and kind disposition of the home's owner. We have a second trip booked already and look forward to making it our home away from home over the next 4 years.
The house is lovely and on a quiet street. The deck is where we spent the majority of the time. The bed was very comfortable. The kitchen could use some updated cookware but it had everything we needed and we did make dinner several times. The laundry facilities are in the basement so care is needed going up and down the steep stairs. Great updated bathroom! The house is very clean but a bit more cobweb dusting on the stairs to the basement would be beneficial as well as vent cleaning. Air conditioner rocks! This property would be the first place I check for availability next time I’m in Iowa City.
The exterior photo does not do the house or the neighborhood justice. Set on a residential dead end street on the charming north side of Iowa City, the bungalow is surrounded by lovely private homes in one of the oldest parts of Iowa City.
The two bedrooms are at opposite corners of the house offering lots of privacy. The decor has lovely personal touches. Beds and seating are quite comfy.
An easy walk into downtown offers numerous shopping and eating opportunities. If you are a book lover, don’t miss the legendary Prairie Lights book store.
This was a perfect location for our stay for graduation weekend.

Cute bungalow
We enjoyed our stay at this cute bungalow. Clean and cozy. Appliances are old but well maintained. Great location that is close to all. The basics are here but no food at all Including salt sugar oil etc. There was also no directions outside of an email. Most places leave some information in the unit for guests.
The location is fantastic. It wasn't far from campus, but it was so quiet at night. I slept like a baby! The owner was very attentive, and she will go the extra mile if you have an issue with your travel plans (which we did). We will be back.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Two of us were working remotely and at times the internet was a bit weak otherwise, our visit was perfect. Working on the porch was fabulous. We'll be back. Thanks so much.
We went to Iowa City for a college football game. The stay in our VRBO was easily the highlight of the trip, just a great place to chill out with friends, within easy walks of the university and downtown restaurants and bars.
The property was close to the park, and close to the center of town. It was well-appointed, and very clean. Beds were more than adequate, and everything was orderly. An exceptional place to stay.
Nicely refurbished kitchen and appointments. Plenty of space, and location could scarcely be better. Lawn area was a bit rougher than expected. Single occupants should mind the bathroom door, which is prone to lock without notice. We certainly would consider rebooking for visits to family in Iowa City.
We checked in on a last minute trip to Iowa City and booked this property with very little notice. Madonna was very responsive and helpful in getting us booked, which we really appreciated. The house is great, felt right at home. We had plenty of room to just have some down time and relax, and it was really comfortable. Spent some time in the mornings and late afternoon on the screened in porched to put our feet up. Would highly recommend and would see if it's available again for our next trip to visit.
We loved this charming little bungalow. The location is ideal - set away on a quiet street, but just a 10-minute walk to downtown IC, Hancher Auditorium, or a stroll along the river in City Park. Very clean, beds were comfy, very nicely updated for an older house. Owner was very responsive. Definitely would stay here again.
