Hillside Cottage is located in Gorsey Bank, a short walk away from town centre. Gorsey Bank is a delightful hamlet of character homes located just on the outskirts of Wirksworth, overlooking the town. Many of the homes were built for the employees of Providence Mill, once a hive of industry, where narrow red tape to bind legal documents was produced. Gorsey Bank has a web of paths and walkways leading in and around this historic site.

We are a family living in Wirksworth with an enthusiasm for the outdoors and the cultural life. Wirksworth provides the perfect base for both! We love the artist community in Wirksworth, the annual arts festival and all the other creative activity that takes place. We are always happy to give you ideas for places to visit, or to go walking and cycling. I love fell running and walking in the hills, and my husband loves his collection of mountain and road bicycles and likes to get out mountain biking in the Peak District at every opportunity. The cottage has lots of maps and books for ideas on where to go. We very warmly welcome you here and happy to help you make the most of your stay.
