It was a good getaway with friends. Good location, right on the lake, kitchen stocked with everything you need to cook a feast. It was a wonderful stay.
We are a group of 9 friends, enjoying a few days of biking in beautiful Vermont in the fall. We loved everything about the house and location. Warm enough to enjoy some time on the porch overlooking the lake and ample room for us all to enjoy each other's company comfortably including cooking together in the kitchen. We hope to go back for another visit next year.
Great stay at the lake in winter for a Stowe ski weekend
We had a great stay at this cute cabin with lots of charm. Lots of space for everyone and very clean. We stayed here in winter for a ski weekend at Stowe. It was a little bit of a drive to Stowe and the bigger towns but not too bad. Overall we had a wonderful stay!
We congregated our work team for the weekend, folks brought their kids and we enjoyed time on the lake. It was a wonderful space, equipped with everything we needed!
Beautiful house with plenty of space. Truly enjoyed staying in this house. Not too far from Stowe mountain. Would love to come back and stay here in the summer.
This was a spacious, well-appointed, beautiful home that allowed our large extended family to spend a great holiday together. The owner was easy to communicate with and we found the property to be just what we needed. Even enjoyed the light coating of snow throughout the day and evening to make the views and vistas even more breathtaking!
Very roomy, comfortable beds and seating. Convenient location. On the water. Plenty of kitchen items like pots and pans and dishes for our group of 10. 2 large TV but no instructions for the TV. The tv in the living room had 3 remotes with no instructions so that made it difficult. The house was clean. Would rent again
Our second time staying at this property. Another great experience! The house is very well designed and accommodates our very large extended family, with plenty of rooms for sleeping and great open spaces to sit and talk. Wonderful views! The host is easy to communicate with and was very responsive. Planning to return to this property again.
Our daughter was getting married at Elmore State Park and this was the perfect spot for the wedding party to stay. Beautiful property and house. Very spacious! We loved that there was so many bathrooms, 4 in all! Definitely highly recommend it!
We enjoyed the lake very much. We used the 2 kayaks supplied with the property and rented 2 more and some paddle boards from Up North Canoe and Kayak. Hiking in the Stowe area (30 min away) was great. The house was great and well supplied.
We ski in Vermont every year with our friends. This house was great and it accommodated all of our needs. Plenty of space and bathrooms. We just loved it. Location is convenient to many mountains and breweries.
Overall our stay was exactly what we were striving for- enjoy food, drink and relax with nothing to do. The house was spacious and comfortable. Kitchen was well supplied (some pans were getting beyond its usefulness)- happy for the dishwasher- and couldn't beat the view from the kitchen windows. It was the perfect location away from the world but still so close.

Hi Lynn, I am so glad you had a good time.
You are right about the pans. We are at the house for the summer and I aalso noticed that some of the pots and pans are in rough shape. I have ordered a new set and will toss the bad ones.

We discovered Betsys house while planning a family reunion in the area. It was exactly what we needed; a great location, large enough for all of us and set up perfectly. We loved having our coffee in the morning watching everyone ice fishing and enjoying the snow. The house had everything we could have needed and we really enjoyed our time there. We will definitely be back!
Had a great time skiing at Stowe, about a 30 minute drive. Lake was frozen, took a nice walk on it observing the ice fishing! House was excellent. Large and comfortable for our party of 9. Interesting knick knacks around, certainly conversation pieces reflecting the extraordinary lives of the owners!
Betsy’s lake house is a wonderful place. Beautiful views, comfy beds, warm gas fireplace. Great place to stay while skiing or just to get away. (Cell service was horrible and no one complained) Everything you need to cook with in the kitchen. Plenty of towels and supplies. We caught a mild stretch and definitely needed 4WD on the road (un-paved) but it was fun! Would definitely return!
We had a great time! House was large and listing was spot on. We brought a dog and we were able to walk him on the frozen lake and the road in front was also always plowed and rarely traveled by vehicles so that was a plus. I gave 5 stars for communication but I never reached out because we never needed anything. Listing was spot on, house rules were easy to follow and it had everything we needed to cook. Great house Betsy, thanks.

About the host
Hosted by Betsy Anderson
My husband and I operated Betsy's Bed & Breakfast in Montpelier, Vermont, for 28 years, so we are very familiar with hosting guests. We enjoy it. We designed this home to be our forever retirement home. With that in mind, we designed the first floor to fit our needs in case we became unable to climb stairs. There is one step up to enter the home, from either the garage or the front door. The first floor has the kitchen, living room, dining room, a bathroom and a guest room with a queen size bed, so it is perfect for guests with mobility challenges. As we aged, we decided to spend most of the year in Florida. We return to this home from mid-April to mid-September, but make it available for rental the rest of the year.
Why they chose this property
We have owned this property for over thirty years. When we bought it, it had an uninsulated, tiny "camp." Over the years we bought adjacent properties , tore down the cabin, and built a year-round, beautiful home. The home is waterfront on Lake Elmore, the "beauty spot" of Vermont. The stunning views from the house are of the small, tranquil lake and Elmore Mountain. Loons call out to you, There is a state park on the north end of the lake which has a sandy beach and watercraft rentals. Trails from the park lead up the mountain to a fire tower with spectacular views of the area.
What makes this property unique
This is a beautiful, comfortable home on a very sweet, peaceful lake. We are thirty miles from the capital city of Montpelier and about the same distance from Stowe. Skiers love it because the rentals in Elmore are much cheaper than the rentals in Stowe. We are about ten minutes from Morrisville, a small town with several excellent grocery stores and a few very good restaurants.
