About this property

New Log Home on Big Deschutes River Within 1.5 mi of Sunriver, Oregon-fish&ski

A spectacular new three bedroom log home on the banks of the peaceful Big Deschutes River awaits you. It provides all season access to the river as well as Mt. Bachelor, Sunriver (1-2 miles away) and all Cascade lakes for outdoor sports and hiking. You can enjoy the beautiful river by fishing on the bank or paddle away in the kayaks or raft provided. Life jackets in sizes from toddler to adult are available.Bikes are on hand for those of you who prefer two wheels as a fun mode of transportation.
All three of the bedrooms in the home have private attached bathrooms and overlook the river. Two of them have their own balconies and one has a rolling barn door, converting into a loft if desired. The West Sunset room has a king size log bed. It has a balcony overlooking the river and comes with a pack and play and enclave for children. The shower and soaking tub are surrounded by ancient fossil tile. The East Sunrise room has an outside balcony and is furnished with a log queen size bed, a small pullout love seat twin bed. There is also a crib provided. It has a soaking tub and shower combination. The center loft room has bunk beds along with a queen bed and reading chair. It overlooks the river above the great room and has as glass enclosed soaking tub and shower.
The home has a large fully equipped kitchen and won high praise from a visiting guest who just happened to be a chef! There are high end appliances including double ovens, refrigerator, dishwasher and a full sized front loader washer and dryer in the laundry room off the kitchen. Next to the kitchen is the dining room with an expandable table that comfortably seats eight. Half of the family is lucky enough to have a river view while they dine! There is also a bar for additional seating.
The heart of the home is the great room. The eye is of course drawn to view and the river. However, when inside you also are treated to a beautiful stone fireplace that reaches to the top of the vaulted ceiling. The fireplace is gas with a remote control. There is a lovely hearth to warm up by. The beams used in construction are massive and stunning. The lighting options in the room create just the right ambiance. A large flat screen TV is in the great room along with stereo. The sofa is a sleeper and the coffee table opens up and contains lots of games for family fun. Under the stairway is a kid nook with a pony to ride, books to read and toys to play with. There is forced air heat and air conditioning to keep you comfortable all year long.
The home has a large wrap-around deck overlooking the river with plenty of rocking chairs for relaxing and watching the deer who regularly visit. There is a gas grill, and night lighting. Turn off the lights and millions and millions of stars light up the night sky. There is also a large stone wood burning fire pit with benches and plenty of fire wood for that evening campfire. Come and make your own memories at this beautiful one of a kind log home.

We purchased a beautiful piece of property on the Deschutes River and decided to build our dream log home. It took us over two years and we did as much of the work as we could. We spent countless hours driving from our home in the valley to the property and did things we never imagined we were capable of. We designed it with our grandchildren in mind and know when they are older we will have many happy memories with them. The home is more then a building to us. It is our heart. We hope all who visit leave with wonderful memories.

Why they chose this property

The beauty of this property speaks for itself. Even the wildlife in the area knows how special it is. We love sitting on our deck and watching the animals come and visit.
