About this property
Fisherman`s cottage close to Looe`s harbour
Jessamine Cottage is a fully restored former fisherman`s cottage located in the heart of West Looe. The cottage dates back some 300 years and is arranged over 3 floors. Sleeping 7 (2 x doubles, 1 x single & 1 bunk bed), it is perfect for both smaller and larger families alike as well as couples. Renovation work included a full back-to-bricks rebuild programme, replacing floors, walls, windows and doors.
The house is equipped to a very high standard including high-quality bed linen and towels. Guests will appreciate the attention to detail. The house has the benefit of an allocated parking space in the Millpool carpark (a 6 - 7 minute walk) as well as wifi broadband.
Joining instructions are usually sent out 2 - 3 weeks before arrival. Guests can normally access the house from 5.00 pm on the first day, although we will our best to get you in well before this. We ask that your accommodation be vacated by 9.00 am on the day of departure. Unfortunately, our cleaning company dictates these times, although we will do our very best to extend these.
The house is less than a two minute walk from Looe`s bustling harbour and the ferry to East Looe. It is also ideally positioned close to the coastal footpath to Talland, Polperro, Lantic Bay, Polruan and Fowey.
Looe can be accessed by car or public transport. The town`s train station is less than fifteen minutes away by foot or just a few minutes by taxi.
There is a layby opposite the house that can be used to unload and load, and if this is occupied, there should be nearby parking at the bottom of North Road or on the quayside. Maximum number of guests in the house is 7.

Beautiful property in a beautiful location. The house was that nice that we wanted to stay inside to make the most of it and had to drag ourselves away. Lots to do in the area and lots of lovely places to eat. The kids enjoyed crabbing every night at the harbour and the beach is lovely! Would definitely stay again. Thank you!

Lovely cottage in West Looe
Having collected the parking pass, the car can simply be abandoned for your stay as there are many great restaurants and plenty to do within a short walk of this excellently positioned property. The cottage is spotlessly clean and finished to a really high standard with everything that could possibly be needed by our family of five.
In short we loved our stay in this fantastic cottage and plan to return. We are already considered New Year 2020!
This was our second stay in this fabulous cottage in Looe. The property is spotlessly clean, is finished to a high standard and has everything you could possibly need for a lovely family holiday by the sea in Cornwall. Like last year the New Year celebrations in Looe were superb. We enjoyed a meal in the Smugglers Cott sandwiched between two impressive sets of fireworks down by the beach. The location of this property is excellent with many restaurants and cafes a short walk away and all the attractions of Cornwall within easy reach by car. The train to Plymouth is also a worthwhile trip. We would strongly recommend you rent this property.

Thanks so much Gavin! We're so happy that you chose to stay in Jessamine again and would love to welcome you back another time.
The house was beautifully decorated and very comfortable. There was plenty of room for the 5 of us and the distance to the car park wasn't a problem at all as the walk from the house was along the harbour and very picturesque.

Liked: Location
Disliked: Cleanliness
Expensive, stayed in cleaner, and necessary facilities less expensive
Bedroom doors do not close.
Alarm went off everytime you used the toaster.
No soap in bathroom to wash hands. (Covid?) Nothing to wash up dishes etc with
Only 1 bath size towel in a house for 6
Have pictures, need a new cleaner, very expensive for the lack of basic needs
Looe however is lovely!!!!

Hi Paula, thanks for your review and I'm sorry the house didn't meet your expectations and I'm sorry that you only let us know of smoke alarm issue and lack of towels after you left as we could have rectified this. I' have notified our housekeeping team about the lack of soap and other issues and thank you for bringing these to our attention.
Thanks for your review Femke and we are glad you enjoyed your stay and all that the house has to offer. Please let us know if you are returning to Looe - we'd love to welcome you back!
Lovely house, wish it had even a tiny place to have a BBQ and the walk to car park every day a bit of a pain after a while especially if raining but ok if you plan to spend a lot of time in Looe.

Thanks for your comments Annette, and we're glad you enjoyed your stay in Looe. Unfortunately there's no real space for a barbecue as the house doesn't have a garden - few cottages in Looe do. As for parking, that's a constant issue in the town and we are lucky to have secured an allocated space close to the townside edge of the Millpool car park. Thankfully, it's a flat 5 minute walk away from the house although some guests find it easier to pick up their families from the quayside - just sending the driver to the car park.
We had a great stay in this cottage perfect location for the town, parking space was very helpful too. We stayed with our young son and the property was well equipped for self catering as a family. Would love to return!

Hi Lisa, we are really glad you enjoyed your stay in Jessamine and we would love to welcome you back!
Fantastic stay, would stay again. Couple of small points to highlight.
The bathroom door needs plaining, that wasn't much fun if anyone got up to use the toilet late or early hours for those in the downstairs bedroom.
Also could have been a little cleaner. Cobwebs in most corners of the lounge and the placemats had something crushed into them all so we left them be and didn't use them.
Maintenance works started early (they did knock on to ask however) but the result was plaster pouring in through the chimney breast in one of the bedrooms.
We kept on top of cleaning very well, it just would've been a little nicer to have arrived to it as clean as we left it.
Overall though, a beautiful place and would definitely return again.

Hi Emma, thanks for your feedback and apologies for cobwebs and placemats which have now been addressed. Thankfully the neighbouring house renovation has been finished and we are sorry if this inconvenienced you. We did ask for them not to start too early - at least they knocked on the door. We would love to welcome you back another time!

Jessamine was a great choice for somewhere to stay while visiting family who live locally. The house is very welcoming, in great condition and, short of food, has everything needed for a stay. Would definitely book again.

Great house in a lovely location close to harbour quayside
A beautifully restored house set in a lovely location with views of the harbour from the bedrooms. Very comfortable for our family of six and we enjoyed cooking and eating together in the wonderful kitchen dining area.
We loved Looe which has plenty to do for all ages. Lots of great cafes, restaurants and pubs.
Beautiful house in the best location.
Our only criticism is the damp patch at the dining end of the kitchen. We understand the house is very old and this will effect the condition. This however didn’t put us off in the slightest.
Also a full length mirror in one of the bedrooms would have been nice.

Thanks for your feedback Lisa, which is always appreciated. We suffered from a burst pipe which caused the damp, but took a while to fully dry out. We're glad this didn't distract you from enjoying your stay.
Amazing holiday and home! If you are thinking of holidaying in Cornwall, stay here!
Charming home in a beautiful location. We could not have asked for more from our holiday. The owner's attention to detail with appliances and decoration is fantastic. The kitchen is stunning with an Arga oven. instructions and advice provided by owner and homeaway were very helpful and very clear. If i could give more stars, i would! Thank you for making our stay so special!

Deceptively large cottage in a great location
Really enjoyed our stay at Jessamine. Lovely location with views of the harbour. Very well maintained and furnished to a high standard. Comfortable beds and quality linen ensured we had the bed of stays. We loved the kitchen - there's a real wow-factor here. We loved exploring Looe and had some lovely walks along the coast. We'll be back and can highly recommend to others.

Wonderful holiday home in heart of Looe
We had a wonderful family holiday in Looe staying in Jessamine cottage which is perfectly located in the heart of West Looe. The house is arranged over three floors - entrance via the middle floor with a comfortable living room and cleverly designed bathroom. Well furnished bedrooms on the top floor (with harbour views) and a lovely kitchen and dining area on the lower ground floor. Really nothing to complain about - clear joining instructions and maps and a helpful bay in front of the house to unload and load.
Looe itself never disappoints - plenty for everyone and lots to do. Lovely local beaches, a huge range of eateries/cafes and lots of wonderful pubs.
Thanks for having us and we hope to be back soon,
Trevor E.

Great family house - loved the harbour views
We really enjoyed staying at Jessamine - the children didn’t want to leave (which means we’ll definitely coming back!). The house was easy to find and we used the small layby opposite to unload before parking the in the Millpool car park (about a 5 minute walk). We liked the attention to deal great pictures, maps and signs added to the character of the house. Very well equipped, lovely soft furnishings and brilliantly finished throughout. We loved nearby Tasty Corner which was great for both breakfasts and lunches. The house is also very close to the bus stop - one day we caught the bus to Polperro and, after lunch, walked back along the coast path. Lots to do in Looe and very child friendly including a very clean and sandy beach (dog free). HIghly recommended.

Beautifully finished house in the heart of Looe
We had high expectations and weren’t disappointed. The beautifully finished house was ideally located very close to the harbour (you can see the harbour from the bedrooms - handy for checking the tide). Very well equipped kitchen and adjacent family dining room proved popular at meal times. The living room was perfect for relaxing after busy days on the beach and we loved the comfortable beds (all hand made and very solid). A functional and cleverly designed bathroom/toilet served us well. We enjoyed a trip to Looe Island and another boat trip to Polperro - both come highly recommended but spend most of our time in Looe and had everything we were after. Very happy to recommend Jessamine to others!
