Lakeside Retreat in Adirondack Valley! Summer on the lake; Winter on the slopes!
Oyster Haven is a renovated circa 1830 farmhouse that combines vintage charm with all the modern conveniences, including a state-of-the-art gourmet kitchen with two ovens and an enormous central island perfect for large family gatherings. Located on the shore of Lake Champlain, this immaculate and comfortable vacation home boasts an acre and a half of property that includes a deck, a large patio with a fire pit, and a grassy yard that stretches out to where stairs lead down to a private beach. With 250 feet of lake frontage, a dock, two kayaks, a canoe, a stand-up paddle board, and a mooring for those who wish to bring or rent a motorboat or sailboat, guests can find a whole host of outdoor activities without ever leaving the back yard.
Located very close to the Adirondack Mountains, enjoy hiking in the summer and outstanding skiing on Whiteface Mountain in the winter. The Fall also provides for breathtaking leaf turning color!
So much history in the area, with museums featuring the Revolutionary War and War of 1812. The portion of the lake off our back yard was the site of the Battle of Valcour of the Revolutionary War! Attractions nearby include Ausable Chasm with rafting (even white water), tours, and even rock climbing. The area has a winery tour and a current explosion of craft breweries to visit. We have a connection with The Valcour Brewing Company located in The Old Stone Barracks on the old Plattsburgh Air Force Base.
For those planning a wedding in the area, we are located right next door to the Valcour Conference Center which hosts year round weddings and receptions. Our home is a short walk to this venue and perfect for housing out of town wedding guests.

This rental was the perfect home base for our family in town for a celebration. We enjoyed ample space and comfort, making it easy for everyone to gather together. The two ovens and large dining table were especially useful for preparing meals. With a great location, fire pit, and grill, this home created a truly special occasion for everyone, and the play area was excellent for the kids.

Thank you for taking such good care of our home. We’re so happy you enjoyed your stay!
As always, Oyster Haven is a wonderful place to stay! Everything is immaculate, comfortable and well appointed. We look forward each year to our week on the lake!
We loved this place! The back yard was large & flat (great for kids); the beach was perfect and the lake is beautiful! Loved that the water stays shallow for a decent distance for young children. Lots of water toys: kayaks/paddle boards/a canoe. Nice sized bedrooms and plenty of room in the house. Great kitchen and nice fire pit outside with plenty of seating.
Great house….great view and awesome amenities….would definitely reccommend. The tooth fairy even found my grandson there! He was definitely worried, lol.
Oyster Haven is a wonderful family getaway. Tim and Laura have thought of everything to make the stay as relaxing and fun as possible. We’ll definitely be back again.
This was our second stay at your property. What an amazing place!! The improvements to the beach and steps were awesome. The beach and location is amazing. We’re so grateful for a wonderful time!
As spectacular as this lake house looks in the photos, it is somehow even better in person! We were a family group of 8 adults and 3 little ones. The house is immaculately clean, spacious, and thoughtfully furnished. The toddler play area was a huge bonus, with a great selection of safe, clean toys. We could easily all be in the kitchen for meal prep and family-style dining with gorgeous lake views; we also enjoyed many meals outdoors on the deck. The expansive lawn offers fabulous space for running and games, and the beachfront is navigable for all ages. Great location - Ausable Chasm right up the road, multiple hikes and bike rides nearby. Tim and Laura were courteous and responsive during the planning stage and right through our week-long visit. If we ever have the opportunity to return, we will!
We stayed here for the total eclipse in 2024. We had three families and the place was great. We want to come back and explore, there were so many interesting places we didn't have time to see.

We’re so happy you enjoyed your stay. We look forward to hosting you again! Thank you so much for taking such good care of our home!
There were 9 of us and we had plenty of room. Tim was easy to reach and was a great host. The kids loved the kayaks and all the games. The beds were very comfortable and we loved all the outdoor seating. We spent most of our time on our boat and exploring Valcour island.
We had a very busy weekend for my daughter’s wedding. We wish we could have enjoyed all the amenities the property had and would definitely come back for a vacation week. The property was perfect for our family. Very convenient for the wedding which was a short walk to the valcour inn. The host communication was exceptional
We have stayed in the Oyster House 3 or 4 times now. It is such a wonderful home. I love the amazing yard off the back, overlooking beautiful Lake Champlain! The bay is sandy and calm for kayaks and paddle boards. Waking up and looking over the lake. We never feel crowded! In fact it also allows us to be hospitable to welcome and enjoy other family we are visiting there on the lake. Highly recommend!!
Can’t say enough. Beautiful property and views. Perfect for active family. Very private. Home nicely childproof. Lots of space. Owners clearly thought of many little things that made our stay very comfortable. Loved it and hope to return!
We had a great time staying at Oyster Haven. The house was plenty big for the 11 people we had staying there. The deck and back yard were huge, which was perfect for the kids. We really enjoyed using the paddles boards, kayaks, and canoes. The only draw back was that the house is on a very busy road so there was nowhere for the kids to ride their bikes. But overall, our stay was great.
Oyster haven was a beautiful place to rest on the lake or play in the backyard any game you could think of (the grassy backyard was awesome)!
The house AC worked great. The kayaks were great! The paddle boards were missing the rudders but still usable. The kitchen was a gathering place and fully stocked. We would definitely return! The beds were very comfortable
We gathered to celebrate my mother's life and stayed at Oyster Haven.
If you are judging Oyster Haven from the location, sights, beauty of the house, and everything else you can think of, Oyster Haven is not just a great choice but your only choice, in my opinion.
If you want the added bonus of a house that you know is filled with family joy & love from the moment you step in and walk around, then reach out and immediately book Oyster Haven.
With much appreciation,
Andy Ryan

Relaxing Family Weekend
This house was perfect! We rented the house for my extended family to stay in for our wedding, and it couldn't have been more perfect. My bridal party got ready at the house in the morning, and even with the extra people, it didn't feel crowded at all. The kitchen is amazing as well. My family provided the dessert for the wedding, and the double ovens definitely came in handy. My cousins enjoyed the kayaks, and everyone was very relaxed! My photographer came to the house and loved it! We got some great shots inside and out.

Excellent family property!
Tim and Laura's place was the perfect getaway for our whole family. There was plenty of space throughout the whole house for everyone to spread out and enjoy each other. We had 6 adults and 2 children and the house accommodated all of us easily. The kitchen was very spacious and had everything you could possibly need. We were fortunate enough to have great weather for our stay and took advantage of the outdoor space. The backyard was perfect for playing games, and it was great taking the kayaks and canoe out on the lake! A few nights we relaxed and roasted marshmallows around the fire-pit. Next time we make a trip up to the lake we will definitely stay here again, it was the perfect home away from home!

Wonderful Home and Great Time!
The home was as good if not better than described. The deck, yard and private beach on the lake were wonderful spaces that we used throughout our Memorial Day Weekend stay.
The owner, Tim, was very responsive and even had two pack and plays awaiting us for the small children we were traveling with. The few questions we had through the weekend were all quickly answered as well.
The home itself had ample sleeping space for seven adults and four children during our stay. The bedrooms are all a great size and the house even has a small selection of infant toys and board games that we were happy to find there. You really can't go wrong with this place.

Quaint, but updated 1830's beauty!
My wife, son, and I decided to experience New England first hand. We are so glad we chose this 1830's updated farmhouse. The VRBO experience and Tim Pearl in particular made our trip both memorable and satisfying. We used the house located right on Lake Champlain as our base of operations to explore the region (Lake Placid, Burlington, Ticoderoga, Montreal, Stowe just to name a few). It was an ideal location from which to base our exploration of the area. I can see why Tim (who grew up just down the road) decided to buy a place here. The region is absolutely gorgeous and is now one of our favorite areas in the US. I highly recommend this house. It was worth the expense . . .

Beautiful, clean & great location & view!
We were in town for a fishing tournament. The house was very charming. An old house renovated with modern style. It is so nice & the location & view was so beautiful. The house had everything to offer from an outdoor patio with a fire pit to a canoe & kayaks! The owners were very friendly & helpful. I had the pleasure of meeting them during my stay. They were easy to reach when needed & willing to help us with anything we may need. There was plenty of room with multiple beds in each bedroom which really fit our needs. The kitchen was great! It made cooking for a large group of people easy & fun! The AC was a big plus on the list as well!! I would highly recommend Oyster Haven to anyone and plan to return myself!

About the host
Hosted by Timothy Pearl
We're Tim & Laura Pearl. We grew up in Plattsburgh, NY, were high school sweethearts and have been married for 41 years. We have raised 5 sons and currently have 19 grandchildren. Tim: I graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1980, then spent 8 years in the Navy as a Naval Aviator flying A-7's and F/A-18's. I am now retired from a career as a commercial airline pilot for Delta Air Lines for 32 years. I grew up right up the road on Lake Champlain and love the idea of introducing you to this magical area. Laura: I graduated from The College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA in 1980. I spent the majority of our married years raising our 5 sons. When our youngest son started high school, I began a lifelong dream to write a novel. In 2012, I had my first young adult novel, "Finding Grace" published by Bezalel Books. I then wrote another YA novel, "Erin's Ring", which was published in 2014. We now spend most of our time travelling to visit our 5 sons and 7 grandchildren.
Why they chose this property
This area is our hometown. We grew up here and have wonderful memories. We always thought it was the perfect place to grow up; with the lake right here, the mountains close by, a small town feel, with a big city (Montreal) very close as well. We've been living away from here for awhile, but can't keep ourselves away too long. We are thrilled to be able to share our home and this area with you. We know you'll love it as much as we do.
What makes this property unique
Although the house is a lovely, renovated colonial, the thing that made us fall in love with it was the view of the lake, the islands, and the mountains of Vermont in the background. Growing up on the lake makes you a little spoiled. I've always wanted to get back. I could sit and stare for hours at the beautiful scenery right out our back yard.
