We were looking for a quick getaway to hike and take a moment to unplug from our busy schedules. This spot was perfect. The deck overlooking the pond was perfect for meals outside, morning coffee, and the sunsets were spectacular. The location was fantastic- close to our favorite hiking trails. We hope to book in the future.
My husband and I had a short one night stay at the remote property. We were supposed to stay two nights, but we cut the trip short due to illness. The cabin was nice with a beautiful view. Extremely remote, more so than we expected. We were unable to start the fireplace. I reached out to the host and she was very responsive, but we were still unable to get it going.
The space is great and the setting is beautiful. We just didn't read the notes well enough to know that we needed to bring our own sheets and towels and the area is very remote, so there's no just running out and buying some.
It’s a secluded cabin with a beautiful view ! We would stay again. We hiked at world’s end state park about 30 min away and went to Knoebels about an hour and a half away.
Pretty spot, house was serviceable but by no means exceptional.
The pros: the location was lovely and the manager was easy to communicate with and allowed us, last minute , to check out an hour late. The cons: it needed a little refresh: the shower curtain had some mildew, the microfiber couch had some stains, the non-stick pots were scratched etc. Overall, I'd stay there again if I were in the area but it didn't blow me away like I was expecting based on other reviews.
The house was beautiful, with a deck overlooking a pond and a nice, clean interior. We had a little challenge when we first arrived with a downed tree blocking the driveway about 150 yards from the house. But we contacted the manager who quickly arranged for someone to come out to clear it. Within two hours it was removed.
All in all, one of the nicest VRBOs we’ve stayed in.
We loved staying at this property! The view from the porch is beautiful from sunrise to sunset. It was nice having two bathrooms located off of both of the downstairs bathrooms. The host provided quick responses for any questions we had. Highly recommend!
Just what we wanted. A place out in NATURE! Nice area with wineries, restaurants, Rickets Glen... A NICE 4 day relaxing trip to NATURE! Thanks! We will return!
The property was given 4 stars on description as there isn't any mention or pictures of the entrance which consists of approximately 20 steps up to the deck.
The cabin is located in a remote area away from the everyday noise...if you want quiet time, this one is definitely going to provide that.
If you are good with limited access to TV and enjoy watching your own movies on DVD player or your own Netflix subscription, this is the place for you.
Our stay was a great one and what we expected.
Checked in Saturday evening. Had beautiful day Sunday. Went to World’s End State park and hiked to Canyon Vista. Also went to high knob overlook. Hiked a total of 10 miles total on Sunday. Got a good night rest and checked out Monday.
The cabin was exactly as described. Very cozy and the view of beaver pond was perfect. We really enjoyed ourselves. We even caught a glimpse of a beaver. Great secluded spot in Sullivan county!
The property was very nice, relaxing, and peaceful. The cabin was clean, and we felt very comfortable, aside from many large black ants. The check-in and check-out process was seamless and communication with the listing agent was very good.
Surprise 20 stairs to get in the property not in the pictures
Overall it was a very nice cabin. Everything you needed other than the TV was terrible and the Wi-Fi was spotty and the one portable air conditioner was not enough and the pond beaver pond to be exact was underwhelming having to carry firewood up 20 steps across the deck and another 15 20 ft up of dirt hill to the fire pit was less than ideal
Beautiful cabin with great features and plenty of space in a location that words cannot do justice. We could swing and enjoy the tranquil mornings and gorgeous sunsets as we overlooked the water and still continue to enjoy the sounds of the frogs and ducks as the night life on the water began to come to life. Absolutely wonderful. I had a few questions and the owner was extremely nice. We love it here and can't wait til we can come again. Thanks for sharing your home with us!
Great place. It is a beautiful cabin on the lake. We went hiking at Rickett's Glen. Happy that we were able to bring our dog with us. Owner responded quickly when we had any questions.
We and our friends brought our kids up for a weekend in the woods and all the kids loved the property. Beautiful lake view, and the firepit is great. Just make sure to bring sheets and towels for your stay.
It was clean and open. The lake was low and fishing bad husband only caught one fish.there was a resident duck we called Gus! 3 eagles reside there watching them fly over the lake was majestic! Loved the sounds of nature. The kitchen could have more bakeware and extra paper towels. Alot of steps and not much flat area to walk on outside. Also paying a fee for cleaning then getting there and finding you have to take the garbage to a municipal place in Laporte 10 miles away plus paying 2.25 to dispose it was disheartening. The cleaners didn't clean the oven cleaner off the oven so had to clean that out before using it.
