Peaceful Villa situated on the top of the hill with breathetaking view

Casa Maria is cozy house situated on the top of the hill. Villa was built in 1781 and completely renovated in 2011. It is standing like a cloud above the famous Motovun forest and Mirna valley. It has an uninterrupted view over the Motovun Forest and medieval town of Motovun (today well known for film festival all over the world). The house´s view can just take your breath away. With in the villas property there are: vineyards, more than 30 fruits and over the 200 olives tree. The nearest village Livade just 3 minutes from the villa today is the most famous village in the world for the truffles. Out side the house are private parking, large terrace with table and comfortable chairs, sun beds, and beautiful swimming pool with the brand new sun deck made from the local grey stones. Just near by the pool is a beautiful BBQ with stone table and wooden chairs. This area is ideal for your peaceful evening or if you are expecting some guest to transform the peaceful atmosphere in nice party.


This luxurious and peaceful villa is ideal for family vacation. Villa sleeps 5 people. On the ground floor there is a spacious living area, with plasma TV, fire place and comfortable sofa. Kitchen is fully equipped. In the kitchen you can prepare your delicious dishes but you can also forget on time and date, because when you will open the window, your mind will sail away in the green view. On the ground flour there are: one double bedroom, one single bedroom and toilette. On the first flour is a beautiful twin bedroom with antique furniture.

Loved It!

We really enjoyed our stay here. The sunrise and sunset every day were spectacular. The villa was charming, clean, and comfortable. The owners are nearby and made sure that we had everything we needed. We plan on staying here again next time we come to Istria

In the heart of Istria

The Vila Maria is a perfect place for people who love the heart of Istria. The Villa is well equipped and well prepared by the owners. As mentioned you need to be aware that you have to walk around the house to come to the terrace and the pool.

Great Rural Location. Very comfortable accommodation.

This is a spacious villa, in an excellent rural setting. Elvis and Ksenija were delightful hosts, and very interesting to talk with. They invited us to observe their olive harvesting, which was educational. We recommend their "green" olive oil which is very tasty, and in our opinion, is superior to some lighter oils we have tried elsewhere. The apartment had everything we needed. The views from the property are superb. The location is extremely quiet :)

My family and I had an absolutely amazing stay at Villa Maria in Golubici. Located within a minutes drive of Motovun and Livade, we could not have asked for a more convenient place to settle in Istria. There are so many fun activities nearby which we greatly enjoyed. As for the villa itself, it lived up to all our expectations. It is well equipped, nicely decorated inside, and the outside is great for lounging and enjoying the great views. Our kids especially enjoying playing around in the pool. Lastly, the hosts are very easy to communicate with and made the whole process very pleasant. We would love to come back in the future. Thank you!

Pretty Mountain View

A very homey, charming cottage in the mountains. Nice views from the windows. You can walk through the olive groves or pick grapes from the arbor. Appears to be built like a duplex with owner's area to one side. As others stated, no access to the pool/terrace area from inside the house. Nice fireplace - it was chilly during our stay. Comfortable beds. We did not realize until arrival that this is the center of truffle production in Croatia. A restaurant in town serves 15 kinds of dishes with black or white truffles, including ice cream! Montevun is a short drive.

Wonderful Views

We chose this villa purely for the remote location and pool, but we were not disappointed. The villa was very old but with lots of modern facilities. Everything was in good working order and top quality. Fully air conditioned that worked very well (32 DegC outside all week). Modern bathroom. Lots of space, but there was only 2 of us. Four or five people would do fine. The owners were extremely polite and helpful, with great English. Couple of very small negatives as usual. Its a 30 minute drive to any decent supermarket. There is no oven, We were badly bitten by mosquitoes when we sat at the outside dinning table, but Elvis fixed this by bringing us some very effective anti-mosquito burners. none of this would put us off and we would return tomorrow if given the chance.

Gorgeous and tranquil, well equipped and immaculately clean !

We were met by Elvis at 9.30pm after getting slightly lost and from that moment onwards we felt the warm hospitality which was evident throughout our stay. The house was very clean and equipped with everything we needed for our two week stay(and more!) There were some lovely welcome gifts which were very much appreciated. We felt our hosts were available if needed and knew they were easily contactable. The house is set in beautiful countryside with long reaching views of the Mirna valley, and we were delighted with the uninterrupted view of Motovun. The swimming pool was a great hit in the soaring temperatures and kept our three(17,15 and 11yr olds) fully occupied during the stay. The peace and tranquility helped us re charge our batteries and , hopefully this calmness will remain with us for a long time to come! The house is situated close to the bustling coastal towns of Pula, Novigrad, Rovinj etc and the beautiful hilltop towns of Motovun, Buzet and ,our favourite, Groznjan. Supermarkets were close (Buzet) and offered a good selection. On the two occasions we needed a doctor(!) we were extremely impressed with the service- on both occasions we were seen, had our prescription and were back at the house within an hour. ein wunderschöner Aufenthalt ...

Die Beschreibung des Hauses "Friedliche Villa auf einem Hügel mit atemberaubendem Ausblick" ist sehr treffend. Sowohl die Lage als auch das Haus selber hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Das Haus ist super ausgestattet, aber insbesondere der große Garten im Olivenhain und der Pool haben uns sehr gut gefallen. Es ist eine tolle Umgebung um Fahrrad zu fahren oder die Umgebung zu Fuss zu erkunden, man muss allerdings Berge mögen ... . Das Meer ist nur ca. 30min mit dem Auto entfernt, wenn man mag. Wir können das Haus und Umgebung uneingeschränkt empfehlen.

Perfekte Urlaubswoche

Wir hatten eine tolle Woche in diesem wunderschönen Haus in einer wunderschönen Umgebung. Es war die letzte Urlaubswoche unserer Reise und es hätte kein schönerer Ort dafür sein können. Es ist absolut ruhig und entspannt. Man könnte sich den ganzen Tag am Haus aufhalten und wohlfühlen, wenn es nicht auch Vieles in der Umgebung zu entdecken gäbe. Die Gastgeber sind toll und jederzeit ansprechbar. Das Haus ist mit sehr viel Liebe gepflegt, eingereichtet und gestaltet. Wir haben uns fest vorgenommen, unbedingt wieder hierherzukommen.

Wonderful life

We found this beautiful house short notice on the internet. We were very lucky to find such an impressive holiday house. I can’t say anything bad, because it was all there: Private pool with a spectacular garden and stunning views, air con in all rooms, fridge, freezer, all kitchen equipment you need, TV with all streaming options, strong wifi, washing machine and dishwasher! Grocery shopping is a little tough but manageable, 25 mins to the sea (Novigrad, Poreč etc.) Motovun castle a must visit, only 10mins away! Thank you Ksenija and Elvis for perfect holidays and the awesome welcome gifts! We loved our stay and would like to come again soon some day!

Wunderbarer Urlaub

Wir hatten eine wunderbare Zeit ind er Villa Maria. Es war alles vorhanden was man benötigt hat und Fragen wurden sofort beantwortet. Was etwas umständlich ist, ist dass es keinen direkten Zugang zu Pool und Aussenterrasse gibt, d.h. man muss immer um das ganze Haus herumgehen. Aber die grandiose Lage und der wunderbare Ausblick machen das wieder wett. Es war eine wunderbare Zeit in Zentralistrien und ich kann es nur empfehlen.

Einsames Haus in den Bergen mit Traumblick

Das Haus wurde mit viel Liebe eingerichtet und ist sehr gemütlich. Von Bad, Wohn- und den unteren Schlafzimmern hat man einen tollen Blick auf die Berge, Wälder und das Bergstädtchen Motovun. Das Wohn/Esszimmer ist zwar sehr schön, aber auch sehr dunkel. Da der Weg mit dem Geschirr ums Haus herum bis in den Garten aber etwas umständlich ist, haben wir doch meist im Esszimmer gegessen. Der Garten mit den zwei verschiedenen Essplätzen (einer direkt am Pool, einer unter Dach) und Traumaussicht ist wunderschön und sehr gepflegt. Auch der Grillplatz ist perfekt eingerichtet und alles vorhanden, was man zum Grillen braucht. Pandemiebedingt hatten wir keinen persönlichen Kontakt zu den Vermietern, aber Ksenija hat auf alle Mails immer sofort reagiert und es war auch überhaupt kein Problem, dass wir mit insgesamt 6 Personen (und einer Übernachtungs-Luftmatratze) angereist sind. Es gibt nur ein Bad und kein separates WC - aber auch das hat mit 6 Personen erstaunlich gut geklappt. Duschen bei offenem Fenster mit dieser grandiosen Aussicht war schon ein besonderes Erlebnis, das selbst unser fast 18jähriger Sohn zu schätzen wusste. Der Ort Livade ist nicht besonders schön, aber der kleine Laden dort hat alles Wesentliche, was man zum Leben braucht. Das Restaurant / die Konoba Dorjana, die uns von Ortsansässigen empfohlen wurde, serviert auch einige Gerichte ohne Trüffel und das Essen dort ist sehr gut. Für Ausflüge zum Meer muss man etwa 45 Minuten Fahrtzeit einplanen, nach Motovun und zu dem kleinen Künstlerbergstädtchen Groznjan sind es etwa 20-25 Minuten Fahrtzeit. Wer Abgeschiedenheit und völlige Ruhe in schöner Landschaft sucht, ist in der Villa Maria bestens aufgehoben!

Séjour de rêve

Nous avons adoré notre séjour dans cette villa. Superbe en tous points. Elvis très accueillant, villa très propre et bien équippée, site calme et reposant sans être trop isolé, belle piscine et plantation d'oliviers où il fait bon se promener. L'Istrie mérite d'être explorée pour ces beaux villages perchés sur les collines et pics, son histoire et, bien entendu, ses truffes et ses vins. Nous recommandons cette villa sans réserve.

What a splendid Summer holiday

My Family and I had a splendid vacation at Casa Maria. The Location is top. Super quiet, nice pool, huge garden (the figs were not yet ripe ;-) ). The view over to Motovun, the sea at no distance, the Food - all perfect. The house is super comfortable, the Equipment in the kitchen is excellent and everything is super clean. Das Haus war perfekt! Von den Bildern waren wir uns unsicher, ob wir wohl 4 Liegen haben, ob Polster da sind.... Als wir ankamen war alles vorhanden und perfekt arrangiert. Elvis, der Vermieter, war super hilfreich. Wir können das Haus jederzeit empfehlen!

Ein wundervolle Woche!

Ksenija und Elvis sind die wunderbarsten Gastgeber, die man sich nur vorstellen kann. Sie haben unseren Aufenthalt in der Villa Maria, der mit einer Woche leider um mindestens eine Woche zu kurz war, zu einem ganz besonderen Erlebnis gemacht. Wonderful Home for your holidays

The house "Villa Maria" is lovely. You got everything you need in there. The owners are really friendly and you can always call them for any help or advice . The pool was very nice and big, but it would have needed a cleaning during the week we stayed there. We had bad luck with the mosquitos during our stay. Before we arrived at the end of may it was raining for 5 weeks non stop in Istria.
