The photo advertising this place makes it appear that you will be overlooking the river. In fact, you are staying in the garage behind the house that overlooks the river. Also, guests should know that the upstairs bedroom is accessed by a very narrow spiral staircase. The bathroom is downstairs. Our host said we could come down to the bathroom via the outside stairs, which is not very practical at night in 30 degree weather with high winds. Speaking of the wind, the bedroom door, although “locked”, blew open in the middle of the night. Otherwise, the place was clean. But we never plan to stay there again.
Bill and Robin were welcoming hosts and their puppy Maui. We loved the deck by the river and all of the accommodations if we wanted to kayak, perhaps next time. It was quiet and peaceful and I loved the books and decor. I mostly caught up on sleep but if I had a few more days I would have read.
Beautiful, peaceful little cottage. Stayed for the weekend and enjoyed hiking in Harpers Ferry and the local restaurants. Our dog loved hanging out by the water and sitting on the swing by the fire at night. We will be back!
We were able to lounge on the boat and the dock. We got in the water with the pups and also hung out on the deck area while having our Bolivar Bakery breakfast and coffee.
Bill and Robin treated us like family. We spent more time there on property than out because this place was just what we needed. We will come again and this is our place!Loved it!!Thank you, Bill and Robin!
We had a great peaceful trip in WV and the Riverkeeper was a big part of it. We appreciated their hospitality and location right next to the river. And Shepherds town.
Riverkeeper Inn is located in a peaceful and quiet area of Harpers Ferry, equally perfect in early mornings and late nights. The check-in and check-out process were very easy, and the property itself had everything we could've asked for, and then some.
My 2 grandsons & I had a wonderful visit at the Riverkeeper Inn. The Riverfront is beautiful & lots of nature to enjoy. They also liked riding around on the golf cart in the neighborhood checking out the deer & birds. Very peaceful. It was a nice getaway for them being from Texas.
The hosts are wonderful. I had a great time in their cozy, clean and beautiful place. Highly recommend for a visit to beautiful and historic WV.I particularly appreciated their fondness for dogs. Mine had a great time too!
We had a fabulous time here! This was a great location. Not only was it close to historic sites, downtown Harper’s Ferry, but we also thoroughly enjoyed the river (as did our dog!). While this is a back unit to the host's home, they were were hospitable, friendly, made an effort to give us privacy and allowed us full use of all the amenities. We were concerned about privacy, but had no issues and would absolutely recommend this place. It was also a great neighborhood for our dog to walk/run and make friends. We plan to come back!
We had the absolute BEST time here. Came for my bf’s bday. It was perfect. The little cottage itself was nice and clean and so cute! We loved the spiral staircase. The host was super sweet. He got the dock ready for us, got the kayaks in the water, blew all the leaves off, even got a fire ready to light for us. We were right on the water where we could fish off the dock. The swing looking over the water was a nice chill spot as well. Two fire pits to choose from. He let us ride his golf cart around which was super fun! We grilled chicken, made Mac and cheese. Had an Alfredo night. So they had everything we needed to do so. I did bring one pan of my own. This was the perfect little get away!! :) and only 15ish mins from Harper’s Ferry old town. We did a couple of hikes in the area and it was absolutely beautiful. Highly recommend staying here for a couples get away!! Downstairs had a pull out couch so could fit up to 4 people. Thanks Bill!! We had a great time!! :)
Well needed short get away with our fur babies. And they got to meet a new friend also.

Robin and I grew up in Johnstown, PA. We always had a dream of living on the water. We got lucky when we found this gorgeous place. Well not when we bought it, a concrete rambler that was a mess. You could not see the river from the house. We completely rebuilt the main house in 2008 adding the ultimate master bedroom. We added the Cottage in 2005, for family, friends and guests. It has been a labor of love. We have lived here since 2003. We tell everyone that we live on vacation. We would love to share our little piece of paradise with you.
