Our beach has a saying: "Mattapoisett is Special". I'm sure you will agree!
We are located 900 feet from a private beach on Buzzard's Bay -- Crescent Beach
Our cottage is the perfect backdrop to create memories that will be cherished long after you return home.
Serene wooded back yard -- great for entertaining or for an active family. Activities include bocce, shuffleboard and horse shoes.
Back yard abuts a wildlife habitat of several hundred acres.
3 bedrooms - two with two twin beds each and the other with a double bed. Full equipped kitchen.

Great Little Beach House, Big Yard with Games!

My partner and I loved this place! We stayed for four nights, and took full advantage of the proximity to the beach and all of the yard games they have in their shed for their big backyard. We played horseshoes and croquet, and they even have shuffleboard if that's your thing! The house was clean, and the beds were comfortable. Everything was as it was presented in the listing, and we'd love to come back sometime. Thanks, Allen and Marilyn, it was a great stay!

This was our 2nd visit, and again tip notch. This cottage is just perfect, has everything you need and more,private, big backyard,so close to private beach area. The owners of this cottage are promt,courtesy and go out of way.to accommodate. we hope to be back next year! Highly recommend!

We didn't end up staying

We were refunded because we didn't stay. There was food left in refrigerator and undergarments left in drawers. We didn't feel this was appropriate during this time of COVID.

Hidden gem

First time vacationing in Mattapoisett, It’s like New Hampshire meets cape cod. We absolutely loved the cottage and the backyard. Having three kids with us the yard was perfect for hanging out after being at the beach all day. It was a quick walk to the private beach which is beautiful, kids enjoyed the waves and didn’t want to come out of water. This may be our new vacation spot, we have already talked about renting again

We enjoyed our time in Mattapoisett. We hadn't been to this area before but will surely return. The house is so cute. It is very rustic, old beach cottage, I loved it. We were so thankful for the for the air conditioning. The back yard is great for kids. Great communication with the owners. It was fully stocked with all necessities which was a great touch (they even left some chocolates and a bottle of wine!) The only thing I would change if I were renting it to someone is, I'd minimize the knick knacks on shelves where guests could store their own things more easily, especially the kitchen shelving over toaster area. I understand that the owners must use the space too, so they decorate for their taste and needs. Overall we had a wonderful time and would highly recommend this house as we'd definitely rent again! Adorable Cottage

This cottage is perfect! It meets all a travelers needs and then some. The hosts were extremely responsive and helpful. They supplied tips to make our stay more enjoyable including local sites and restaurants. The cottage is a quick walk to the local beach and even had beach chairs available for comfort. Very thoughtful hosts! Thank you for sharing your adorable cottage with us!

Not the place listed, but better!

I was sort of alarmed when we were told en route that we wouldn't be staying at the beach house that was listed for rent, but instead we would be staying at the one beside it. Mind you, I was not really at all familiar with the area, as I come from a different part of MA altogether, but now live in TN. I had my husband and three children in tow so I was concerned that there wouldn't be enough room for us all at this other place. Since we only had pictures and details about the original rental... I was worried. But also, you couldn't beat the price, so I was happy to take my chances. The beach house had plenty of room, was stocked with towels and bed linens, and was absolutely adorable. A coffee cake was left in the fridge for us to snack on. The private beach was absolutely gorgeous. The back yard to the beach house was huge and had tons of outdoor games for the kids to play. I realized that staying at any beach house in that private community was sort of an honor. I am so thankful for the opportunity to stay in that cozy little beach community. I will definitely rent from Marilyn every time we go visit family in MA. Thanks so much for the amazing vacation!

Quiet woody area makes you feel like you're at home with nature

Unfortunately I can't really say much because I arrived at 1:30 AM and crashed on the sofa for 6 hours as I had a meeting with my lawyer early in the morning and a 30 mile drive to get there. In other words, I wasn't able to do anything in the area other than look at the surroundings; however, from my impressions, it's a nice little house and has a nice view and scenery (and insects of various kinds) and reminds me of my best friend's home when I lived in Maine.
