At the end of the day, in the comfort of our place, there is nothing better than to enjoy the aromas and tones of the surrounding scenery, to open a bottle of Paiva's green wine bought in our village's grocery store ... and now, we ask for your forgiveness , the story is now yours
Once upon a time in Pedorido, on a terrace of the Douro, 40 minutes from Sá Carneiro - Porto Airport, an enchanted place with much to discover; from the dark and mysterious mines of Pejão to the modern passageways of Paiva; diving on the river Douro and at the mouth of the River Arda, guarded by the lush vineyards, to the tables where the pleasures of a unique gastronomic tradition abound.

Little paradise

We had a great stay with everything we needed. Verry friendly host, who gave us a lot of tips to go arround (restaurants, sightseeing, etc.). The house, the garden and the pool are perfect.

Quiet and cosy

Great Family Holiday

The property was fantastic, it had a huge amount of charm and provided everything we needed. We received a very warm welcome at the property and regular contact throughout our holiday with suggestions for things to do, places to eat etc. Lovely location, close to a large supermarket (in car) or local well stocked shop (5 min walk).

A very warm welcome from hosts with tips on local festivals etc. Property surrounded by beautiful wooded hills and close to a river beach. Owners responded immediately to any queries, though hot water was erratic!

Lovely Easter stay

I only wish we’d had more than a week in this lovely house! The pictures don’t do justice to how nice it is - you can travel into Porto or explore the countryside around. I would definitely re-book - the hosts could not have been more helpful. Thank you!

Zes site

My spouse and I rented the property with another couple for a week. The property is beautiful and everything was sparkling clean. Any issues we had were promptly and efficiently attended to by the property managers. We rated every category 5 stars except check-in process. Once we found the site (with the help of a local gentleman) the property managers were very friendly and great at showing us everything we needed to know. It's a difficult place to find, so it may be helpful to arrange a meeting place at a store in town so renters can follow the managers to the site. We loved our stay and eating the fresh eggs that we retrieved from our resident chickens each morning. The grocery store is within walking distance (nice walk down hill, but going back up could be difficult if you have a lot of groceries). There is a bakery beside the grocery store where we bought fresh bread, rolls and fabulous Portuguese tarts. Staff at the grocery store and bakery were both very friendly and helpful. Beautiful lemon and orange trees on our site which we made delicious lemon aid and orange juice from. And herbs from the gardens that we used in our cooking. Everything about this site was wonderful - the gardens, the people, the location, the property managers. It was a lovely place with lots of charm and beautiful views. We would highly recommend this site.

Mooi authentiek huis met prachtige tuin en fijn zwembad

Door een vlucht vertraging kwamen we pas na middernacht aan, dat was voor de verhuurders geen enkel probleem: de ontvangst was zeer hartelijk.Ook kregen we allerlei tips over restaurants, de omgeving en supermarkten e.d.Communicatie was top. Het huis is groot en van alle gemakken voorzien. In de tuin, op het terras en bij het zwembad is het heerlijk vertoeven.Een goed wandel gebied.Het prachtige porto met zijn wonderschone Douro is een aanrader (40 minuten rijden) Auto is vereist als je restaurants en de omgeving wilt verkennen.Kortom we hebben genoten!!!!

Tolle Atmosphäre, man kann dem Alltag entfliehen. Man benötigt zwingend ein Auto und muss dieses auch bewegen: nach Porto, für eine Douro Tour und zum Restaurantbesuch.

Charmantes Haus in authentischer Umgebung

Das liebevoll restaurierte Schieferhaus ist hoch gelegen und trotzdem gut mit dem Auto erreichbar. Im Ort gibt es einen kleinen Supermarkt fußläufig erreichbar und im Nachbarort auch sehr gute und authentische Restaurants. Das Haus selbst hat viel Charme und ist super ausgestattet. Besonders der Grill und der Pool mit toller Aussicht sind hier hervorzuheben. Die Gastgeber haben unseren Aufenthalt mit ihrer Gastfreundschaft beim Check In sehr bereichert und uns mit wertvollen Tipps zur Erkundung der Umgebung versorgt. Vom Haus aus lässt sich der Norden Portugals toll entdecken, weil es sowohl nah an Porto als auch am wunderschönen Douro-Tal gelegen ist. Wir kommen gerne wieder und können den Aufenthalt nur sehr weiterempfehlen.

Superbe endroit et hôtes hors pair

Merveilleux séjour dans un environnement typique, calme et bucolique. Une maison rénovée avec beaucoup d’amour, de goût, des jardins fleuris et un potager où on peut se servir en plus des poules fournissant les œufs frais, quoi demander de mieux. Nous avons été accueillies par les hôtes et leur amie Maria comme si nous étions des amis . Sans aucune hésitation, nous recommandons cette location pour quiconque recherche l’authenticité et le calme. Notre seul regret: n’avoir pas séjourné suffisamment longtemps pour visiter davantage cette belle région et profiter de la belle villa.

Un accueil chaleureux, enormement d'information pour profitez au maximum de la region, une maison qui ne manque vraiment de rien! Dommage que la meteo n'a pas ete au rdv tout les jours. On se croirait facilement chez nous. Un bonheur pour les enfants avec le potager et les poules 👌
