About this property
Unique lockside canal cottage.
Grade II listed, barrel vaulted roofed, detached lock keepers cottage dating from 1815. The property is set in large private gardens with canal to fore and a stream to rear. Beautiful rural outlooks in all directions. House is basically equipped and totally off-grid, offering a unique experience, it is accessed by foot , boat or bike only involving an attractive 15 minute walk along the towpath of the Stratford canal. Excellent pubs in walking distance either way, with good food and beer offerings. Inside the cottage there is an equipped kitchen with dining space, full bathroom and two bedrooms, the second of which is off the living room. There are brick barrel vaulted roofs to main rooms, along with fireplace and mezzanine to the living room.
