"Casa Virgilio in Monti" in Rome is located on the ground floor of a building of the '700 in the Monti district, one of the most characteristic of the capital between the Fori Imperiali, the Colosseum (8' walk) and Santa Maria Maggiore (4 ' on foot).
Very well served by public transport: underground station (line B, Cavour stop), near the Termini station and then the arrival of the Leonardo Express train to / from Fiumicino Airport, and buses to Ciampino Airport. In the area, at a distance of 5 minutes walk, there are 4 supermarkets, restaurants, taverns, pizzerias, bars, wine bars, clubs, pastry shops.
"Casa Virgilio in Monti" is composed of two double suites (you can also book separately). They have an independent and intercommunicating access through an internal door. The price is for the whole apartment that can comfortably accommodate 4 people, wanting a fifth on the sofa of one of the suites. It is also suitable for 2 adults and 2 boys / children turning one of the 2 double beds into 2 single beds.
The first suite, "I fiori", is composed of a bedroom (double bed or two singles), private bathroom, living / veranda with kitchenette (fridge, induction plates, oven, dishwasher), real internal garden overlooking a very quiet private flowery courtyard. The second one, "Il Gallo Rosso", consists of an alcove with a French double bed, a living room, a private bathroom and a kitchenette (induction plates, microwave oven, fridge, washing machine).
The price is for the entire structure. For the rental of a single suite, we refer you to the Casa Virgilio1 apartment in Monti and Casa Virgilio2 apartment in Monti.
The two suites have air conditioning, heating, TV, WiFi internet, minibar, coffee machine, kettle for hot water, all to ensure a truly relaxing and peaceful stay. A welcome drink will be offered to you on your arrival.

Apartment Virgilio in Monti is a true oasis of tranquility in the center of Rome. The location couldn’t be better — tucked away on a quiet street yet just steps from all the vibrant history, cafes, and sights the city has to offer.Our host, Jean-Louis, was absolutely amazing. He warmly welcomed us after an overnight flight and had thoughtful breakfast treats and fresh coffee waiting, which was such a kind and appreciated touch.The apartment itself is spotless, comfortable, and very quiet — a rare find in such a central location. It truly felt like a peaceful retreat to return to after exploring the city.We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend this property to anyone visiting Rome.

We had a very nice stay. The location is perfect for seeing all of Rome. 12 minute walk to the Termini train station and a 7 minute walk to the metro blue line. Jean Louis was very helpful with anything we needed and was a fantastic host. The apartment had very comfortable beds and all the amenities we needed. The food, coffee, and drink selection available when we arrived was very much appreciated. The AC worked very well in every room but even without it the apartment stayed quite cool. Would definitely stay again.

This property had everything we needed and more. Jean Louis put a lot of thought into making us feel welcome and comfortable, including welcome snacks and food for breakfast! He leaves plenty of useful information about the surrounding area.

This property is 2 connected apartments, which was perfect for our family of 2 generations of adults. A rep of the host met us when we arrived and went over everything, and we appreciated the written instructions for appliances and the list of suggested sites and restaurants. The apartment was very clean, attractive, and comfortable, plus well-stocked with breakfast food, snacks, and drinks. The location was a short walk to the must-see Colosseum and many shops and restaurants. Our hosts were attentive and friendly and clearly wanted us to feel at home.There was an AC problem that they dealt with immediately.

Rome for a week

This property is well located with great access to all the sites in Rome. Well appointed, super clean and beautiful outdoor space. Owner responded quickly to any concerns we had. A small oasis in the middle of Rome. We would definitely stay here again.

This house served all our needs. Two beds and a sofa bed and two bathrooms. Convenient location to many of the attractions. Owner, Jean, was very accommodating. There was a bottle of wine waiting on our arrival and many breakfast items included too. I would highly recommend this property!

Perfect location for Romes greatest hits!

Our communication with Jean Louis and Micaela was excellent. Thanks Jean Louis for helping us with the Leonardo Express. The location was central to the Colosseum, restaurants and the Metro at Cavour or Termini. The kitchen was well equiped for eating in as well. The garden area made it a nice place to relax at the end of a busy day. We would definitely stay here again.

The Perfect Home for Rome

Jean-Louis was an incredibly gracious host, and the Vrbo listing does not do his amazing property justice. This home is wonderful! We loved the kitchen area so much, and it was a great space to regroup after spending the day exploring Rome over a couple bottles of wine. The property has excellent access to amenities such as dining and is an easy walk to the Colosseum. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again, in fact, we’d be hard pressed to stay elsewhere. We loved our stay!

Perfect

The communication Jean-Louis was brilliant. He always answered near enough straight away. When we arrived late evening Micaela (a friend of the owners) was already waiting for us. She gave us all the information we needed. Since it was a ground floor property it was ideal for me because of my disability. A welcome pack waited for us. Lots of items, bread, butter, drinks, fruit, jam, yoghurts, biscuits and a bottle of wine. A very well equipped kitchen. The property was within walking distance of the colosseum and other sights. I would highly recommend a stay.

.verything was great , attractions were very close. Downhill there are tons of places to eat and a grocery store to buy all drinks cheap. The only negative would be there is one hell of hill to walk up to get to the door. However i would absolutely stay there again

Wonderful host

We had 2 couples. Our train from Florence got to Rome much earlier than check-in and John Louis was very nice to allow us to leave our luggage and get in early. We had some issues with figuring out the washer/dryer combo but not a big deal. It’s a very historic apartment with an unusual layout for 2 couples but that was in the description. We felt super safe also. Great area.

Terrific Property

This was a perfect property for us as a family of four right in central Rome. Two kitchens and bathrooms provided a lot of privacy. Jean-Louis welcomed us to this superclean property that was easy to find. The property was exactly as pictured on the website and we felt very safe and secure. We were welcomed with Prosecco, cheeses, chocolates and fruit plus lots of snacks including a great balsamic vinegar and even some juice in the fridge to sustain us for 4 days. Jean-Louis even called taxis for us when needed as we did not speak Italian. He was always available when we needed him. This is a reasonably priced 5-Star property that we would stay in again without question. Thanks for a great trip Jean-Louis!

Great find in a wonderful location. A quiet haven!

We loved Jean-Louis’ place! I’m so glad I booked it! Its in a fantastic location, close to the train station and Collosseum, on a quiet little street. The apartment is truly an oasis. It’s perfect for a family with teens, the setup is unique in that it’s 2 connected units, as the listing describes, but it gives everyone their own space and it’s really nice to have 2 bathrooms . It has a peaceful patio and you feel like you’re in a tropical paradise. The A/C works well. The kitchenette is perfect for breakfast but we had no need for heavy cooking. They have thought of everything a guest could need from snacks, to beverages, coffee pods, and toiletries. Jean Louis is a great communicator and so kind. I will definitely come back here when I’m next able to go to a Rome and will recommend to others.

Wonderful experience

This was a girlfriend trip without our husbands & family and we felt very safe and comfortable. Jean-Louis was very hospitable and great at communication even on things not related to the apartment. The apartment is located great very close to Roma Termini (the main big train station), walking distance to the Coliseum, Forum and Palentine Hill etc. You can see Santa Maria Maggiore church right up the street and there is a stop there for the "hop on, hop off bus". That was a great deal to ride around and see everything with an audio tour as you go. We were able to order an Uber and a taxi to pick us up right at the front door. We rented the entire apartment - 2 bedrooms each with its own bath. There are 2 "living areas" on each end of the apartment and 2 kitchen areas since it can be split off into 2 separate 1 bedrooms units. We could have just done one side - that would have been plenty of space. We did not use the kitchens at all but the larger one was stocked well and the smaller kitchenette was totally usable and had everything you would need. The kitchenette did have an "Italian" washer dryer combo. It was a little adventure figuring it out but I did successfully wash one load (we'd just done a Transatlantic cruise for 2 weeks so I needed some clean undies, lol). There is also a self serve laundromat on Via Cavour (one street over) very close! When we arrived, Jean-Louis had left us a little Italian snack &bread & coffee ready for breakfast. Great Rome apartment!

Beautiful, spacious, clean apartment in a great location. Easy access to Metro and major attractions. Kitchen stocked with coffee, water, snacks etc. Layout is great for families or couples with two separate bedrooms and bathrooms. Beds are comfortable and apartment is nicely furnished with sofa, dining table, luggage stands and REAL art! Host was attentive and welcoming. One of the best apartments we have ever rented.

Nice stay in Rome

Overall, this was a very nice stay. Jean-Louis was very communicative in the stay and the check-in process was easy, meeting a friend of Jean-Louis who let us in and showed us the apartment. They had left a bottle of wine with some snacks at check-in, which was very thoughtful. The apartment had air conditioning, which was welcome with the heat in Rome in August. The location was great with a short walk (10 minutes) to the Coliseum and close access to the Metro. Overall, a very nice stay.
