Discover the myriad shops in the cobbled lanes, climb the 199 steps to St Mary’s church and the abbey ruins, or take a tourist boat for a sail round the coast. Inland, there are many pretty market towns including Pickering, with an excellent Wartime Weekend, and Helmsley, with its street markets, shops and castle ruins to explore. Beach 9 miles. Everything was perfect, Martin has absolutely cracked this.
Everything was perfect, Martin has absolutely cracked this. The Shack is really well set out, fully equipped kitchen and the immediate surroundings are idyllic. Martin’s a great host and makes you feel really at home. Great sense of humour too 🙂 Beck Hole is just beautiful, the Birch Hall inn serves a lovely pint of Beckwatter and beer cake! It’s a perfect place to walk/run/relax/get away from it all. And the steam trains, don’t forget the steam trains. Also Whitby’s a quick car journey or an hour or so by steam. 20/10 can’t wait to get back!
