About this property
Discover Lil' Casa Marquette!
In a neighborhood just off the beaten path, sits Lil' Casa; an inviting and peaceful southwest-style home in beautiful Marquette, Michigan.
Centrally located and minutes from Marquette Mountain, NMU, the hospital, grocery stores, as well as all the biking, boating, and snow activities you could dream of! This is a great location to launch your next seasonal adventure, visit your student at NMU, attend one of Marquette's many community events, or just enjoy a good night's sleep.
Just up the road to the east toward the fit-strip is an awesome view of the surrounding area, Hogsback MT, Sugar Loaf MT, and Lake Superior can be seen in the distance. A short walk through the fit strip and adjacent cemetery (which local legend has it was designed by the same landscaping pioneers as Central Park and the Biltmore Estate gardens) leads you towards the city center.
If you like getting around by foot or bike, you'll love that you are only steps away from the Marquette Bike Path System for easy access to the Presque Isle nature area, downtown Marquette, and the Lower Harbor.
In the back of the house, you will find a deck along with a fenced-in backyard offering a private outdoor space to enjoy your coffee in the morning or relax in the evening after a day out and about. Enjoy a peach or two off of the tree or pick some red raspberries from the abundance of bushes. The back fence is lined with lilac bushes on one side and grape vines on the other (the grapes are ripe and ready to pick in October). There are many flowering plants and bushes throughout the outside space including irises and Lilly of the Valley.
Experiences local flare with a visit to the farmer's market (Saturday & Wednesday evenings), Beer Fest, Artofnh the Rocks, dog sled races, and other community festivals and shenanigans.

About the host
Hosted by Bethney
Hello! I am an Upper Peninsula native, having grown up in the neighboring town of Negaunee. After college, I lived in Arizona for a few years and loved the Spanish-style architecture there. I have lived in Marquette for the past 25 years and have owned Lil' Casa for just about as long! Lil' Casa was as close as I could get to having a bit of Arizona in Marquette! Here in Marquette, I work at the university. I love getting out on the trails in the summer and downhill skiing at Marquette Mountain in the winter. I know the area well so please feel free to ask any questions!
