Overall our stay was okay. We have rented this house for the past couple of years over New Years and it has always been a good time. The owner of the house was responsive yet very aggressive and constantly hounded us for more money due to an honest mistake involving the number of cars allowed on the property. We moved them immediately in inclement weather and he still tried to charge a large amount that was nowhere to be seen in the contract. It felt like he was trying to take advantage of the situation in a negative way. He also kept threatening cleaning charges even though we deeply cleaned the entire house and took care of it throughout our stay. The house is older and things that come along with older houses should be expected. Through some Google searches I’ve also found some things saying the owner might be a potential felon for wire fraud, and if such is true, I’d be very disappointed in VRBO for not including.

This guest was the absolute worst guest I've had in over 20 years of renting the home. This was a group of young kids that had over 19 cars at the home and over 40 people. They left my home in an absolute mess. Broke items and left trash everywhere. Mud was everywhere. They had no respect for my home. They destroyed the gras by parking in it and my neighbors called to say the road was blocked with illegally blocked vehicles. I've only kept a security deposit twice in the last 15 years. Unfortunately the $250 security deposit will not come close to covering the damage that was done.
It was a great stay, Matt was very helpful and communicative when needed. We found minimal issues with the property and those we found did not affect anything. Would definitely stay here again!
beautiful home, beautiful location. Home is outdated, which is not a big deal. needs tlc, simple things, sych as replacing light bulbs, some lights and outlets dont wirk, replacing rusty register covers and old toilet seats. it should be emphasized in the description, that towels are not included. Overall great piece of property would stay again!
Enjoyed this house, great for a large family, friends, and kids, etc. Would rent it again. Would love to rent this in the summer months with the pool, outdoor firepit, etc.
My family definitely enjoyed our stay at seven spring. The house was just perfect and well put together. We going to keep this property in our mind for future vacations. Thank you

The design and layout of the house is great. Plenty of room for everyone! The furniture leaves a lot to be desired. I don't mind old but broken down and uncomfortable is not good. The pool was really cold. I'm thinking that there must be a leak since there is a hose that constantly adds water. Would have been great with that 90 weather weeks. Not so great for our week. Some of the windows don't have blinds or curtains and there was a smell in the basement when using the washer or shower. The home is great...just needs a good cleaning, some TLC and a plumber to figure out what's going on with the basement drain.
The house is large and is perfect for a large family. It’s very outdated. While we were there a new washer and dryer, along with other things were delivered. The kitchen will have everything you need. It’s a little drive to get to any major store. About an hour drive from Pittsburgh. The kids loved the pool. The living areas a big enough for almost everyone and the dining area is great center piece for everyone to spend time together. The house just needs some TLC. new linens and supplying towels would also be nice. We were told ahead of time about the towels, but if you are flying in you will have to purchase. We would definitely stay again.
The property is very large and perfect for mixed age families. The 3 living room areas provided plenty of space for football in one and Xbox in the other. The owner was great to work with. Looking forward to next year.
We hosted a reunion for our extended family this past weekend. The first floor was open enough that we could all be connected. The football fans took over one room, the basketball fans had the other, and the rest of us gathered to laugh and chat around the table. We even sang songs around the fire one night. The location was close to everything we wanted to visit. Definitely enjoyed our stay.
We used this property as our homebase for a Seven Springs ski trip and we loved it. There are tons of rooms with many different bed configurations to accommodate our group. They all enjoyed the privacy and space this property afforded.
I can't say enough good things about the owner. He was very responsive, clear and generous. I would highly recommend this property and any of his properties really.
We were fortunate that our party of 13, became a party of 9. A water leak made the finished basement, pretty unusable. We also had a bathroom issue on the 1st floor as well. There were some cleanliness issues with the grill as well. Once you get past all of that, the kids had a blast, we got the heated pool rolling and they were able to have their own space. The TV situation was a bit much, the two main TVs are older and we couldn't connect our laptops to them to stream our movies. Once we got past that, the girls had a good time.

Why not to reserve.
False advertisement. No slide at pool and dryer doesn't work. Spent 1 day waiting for pool repair and 1 day with no water usage on main floor with septic over flow in basement. Only one tub available. The other wouldn't hold water.shoer nozzle fell off one shower. Ice maker doesn't work.had to fix two areas dangerous to walk on floor with metal edges. Don't reserve!
We have been visiting 7 springs for 45 years. This year when Vail bought the property they took away our cabins which meant we were losing a family/friend tradition... until we found Matt's place. Yes its dated... but we're used to that, and it has the space and location to make a fantastic vacation. Matt was super responsive to our needs and I would highly recommend his place
Our family enjoyed our stay, and the host was easy to communicate with. The property was in the condition we expected, and it was described. Only problem was outside grills were not kept clean, and it took time to get all the left over grease cleaned to make useable. I also had to buy propane before it could be used. It has flaws, but worked for us. We had a good time.

Less than ideal
All bathroom's weren't fully functional. Bedroom downstairs had a wet carpet when we arrived and smelled musty. There is a leak in the roof above the bar area.Fireplace wasn't functional. When you flush the main level toilet the bedroom next to it bubbles up and gurgles. The hoyse was cold. The space was ample
Large place with lots of bedrooms, older but comfortable
I'll begin with pros:
- Lots of bedroom space
- comfortable living/communal spaces
- quick communication when staying at the house and in the week leading up to our stay (though less so when attempting to make the reservation when I had a question)
- willingness of homeowner to be flexible with pool closure date
- quickness to fix electrical issue
Cons:
- house had a mildly negative odor
- dishwasher was left in an unfinished cycle and was a bit mildewed (later remedied by handyman)
- missing baskets for filters to large coffee maker made it difficult to brew coffee for our larger group
Overall, we enjoyed our stay here, minus the few snafus early on that were later resolved. The house, as stated, is not intended to be luxury accommodations, but to be comfortable.
We had an amazing stay. The host was extremely communicative throughout the entire process which was so helpful. The pool needed cleaning upon arriving and the host was able to get someone out the next day. The house is definitely outdated however we didn’t care and were there for spending time together for our family reunion. The whole house was very symmetrical which my husband and I loved. They have 2 grills and a black stone, I’d recommend bringing extra propane, a fireplace so bring wood, yard is small however loved the concrete path for cornhole, bring your swimsuit for the pool, multiple picnic tables and a covered gazebo area (no lights, bring your own), they did have an outdoor light to light up the backyard just not the gazebo. There were 2 fridge/freezer combo and commercial drink fridge. Cellular service is spotty which is expected however the WiFi was fantastic. We were happy with the home and may potentially return for a future reunion. Thank you so much Matt!

My group stayed at this property in 2017, 2019, and now in 2025. - The very old furniture was okay then, but it is nearly unusable now. Couches sink, the chairs barely have any padding remaining - nothing is comfortable and everything needs cleaning.- The state of the house was okay then, but the property has deteriorated over time. The carpet is icky. The dishwasher stopped draining. None of the 3 grills were functional. There were wasps around the house. There was a field mouse one night in the kitchen.- The plumbing is definitely the worst issue - if someone uses a sink or flushes a toilet while you are showering, your water will cut off. Often faucets were turned on and water did not come out (the problem was the worst in the basement - the pipes there clearly had last priority).- The landlord, Matt, is very unresponsive. He no longer responds to VRBO messages. We had his phone number on hand from our previous visits, but it took him days to respond to basic questions that were texted to him.If you do stay in the house anyway:- There are no towels of any kind provided. None. Not just shower towels, pool towels, and washcloths - I'm also talking about bathmats (for when you step out of the shower) and kitchen towels.- Bring earplugs. The acoustics are very noisy.- Only 1 flat pillow provided per person

Big house but needs lots of work
We found a lot of broken things in the house. Microwave door was broken, a vent was broken, the television in the basement was broken. A dresser drawer in one of the bedrooms was broken. A window was broken as well. The couches were all sunken in the chairs as well. Contacted owner and they said they didn't know any of these things were broken. The hand soaps were watered down so we pushed our own. The basement smelled like the sewer was backed up. Would not stay here again. Carpets were dirty and stained. Needs replaced. Mattresses were uncomfortable and very worn in.
