Culburra Dunes Beach House – Absolute Beachfront Culburra Dunes Beach house is built right into the sand dunes of beautiful Culburra beach. There is nothing between you and the waves……. only the beautiful dunes. It is the quintessential Australian timber beach house, small, warm, cosy and effortlessly comfortable …. a very short barefoot walk along a private path onto the beach. The house has a gorgeous curved roof echoing the nearby waves and internally giving an uplifting sense of light and space. The house sits in the dunes, the bottom deck offering protection from the afternoon sea breeze, the top deck allowing plenty of ocean views. It is one of a few places that you can watch the sunrise over the ocean and the sunset over glimpses of Curleys Bay… all from the same deck! The house has three bedrooms, all with quality bedding and a divine loft bedroom located within the largest bedrooms’ curved ceiling. There is one bathroom, a new kitchen with a retro “Baby Blue” Smeg fridge, a separate dining room, large living room with a Cocoon Ethanol fire, comfortable sofa, a quality entertainment system and smart TV. Multiple Decks allow for plenty of options to escape the sun and relax. The back lawn is a great place to kick a football with the kids or simply lie in the sun away from the sand! The large main bedroom has a luxurious latex King size bed and a separate Sofa. The Sofa converts into a double bed suitable for a child or single adult sharing the space. In this room is a ladder to the gorgeous loft room with opaque glass balustrade. The loft has a single bed and single pull out trundle bed. The loft is the perfect place for a teenager or a single adult wishing to escape! It has its own private window with views to the mountains. This space is not suitable for children under 10 as access is via a ladder. The second bedroom is up a small flight of stairs and contains a comfortable double bed with windows all around. This room has two beautiful fan shaped windows, one opaque offering warm light the other with clear glass allowing for gorgeous viewing of the Culburra night sky while lying in bed. This bedroom gives access to the top deck and views over Culburra Beach and Curleys Bay. This bedroom is suitable for two people sharing. The third bedroom has a fabulously comfortable Queen Bed with multiple windows and a light airy feel. This bedroom is suitable for two people sharing. The beds are fully made up with quality linen saving you having to bring your own linen. This is included in the price of your stay making the price for the accommodation very reasonable for beachfront accommodation. The kitchen has all a cook might need to whip up a gourmet meal. • Stone Bench Tops • Integrated Dishwasher • Smeg Fridge • Nespresso Coffee Machine • Induction Cooktop/ Fan forced Oven/ Microwave Combi-Oven • Sharp knives, quality crockery and plenty of cooking utensils and appliances. The sound bar means quality music is always available. A Cocoon Ethanol fireplace gives the warmth and ambience of a real flame without the mess and need to manage logs of timber. Glass French doors lead from the living room onto a large shaded lounging deck, protected from the afternoon breeze but close enough to the beach to always hear the waves. We had an excellent stay. Everything was clean and tidy on arrival and access to the property was easy. Plenty of space for the whole family, in a location that is hard to beat!
Went with our family and dog, it was a lovely stay!! Wish we had some airconditioning but the winds were amazingly cool this time of year! Would definitely recommend coming back to this cozy place! Thank you for having us!!

What an amazing property. Tucked away in the dunes. So close to the beach, with plenty of things to do and see nearby. We loved our stays and our hosts were super responsive and a pleasure to deal with!
Other than a few smalll maintenance issues the house was
amazing. Although with no aircon maybe a bit hot in summer. Overall everything you need for a relaxing getaway.

I am so glad you enjoyed your stay! You are welcome back anytime!
Our family of 5 plus fur baby had a wonderful stay. Highly recommend a stay. The house was well appointed and the kids (adult kids mind you) loved the mezzanine level hiding behind the door. The only problem we had was our elderly dog struggled with the stairs, particularly the ones outside leading up to the top level of the garden. Thankfully a kind neighbour let him cut through their yard on the way to the beach.

Perfect house with bare foot walking distance to the beach!
I was a little worried that with 4 girls and two young babies that the living spaces may not be big enough, but they were perfect!! A perfect house that has beach frontage, what more could you ask for!

I am so happy you enjoyed your stay. You are welcome back anytime.
Absolutely perfect location, the beach house was very cute, lots of space and very easy to navigate all the appliances. We had a very relaxing time during our stay. The ocean turned on its best for us, from the beach we saw a pod of whales and a pod of dolphins. Just perfect and we will stay again. 😎🌟
Brilliant position- well supplied- would liked to have at least one wardrobe to hang clothes. Upper desk wonderful lovely and warm . Booking easy and host very receptive. I would go again

Great Location
Great Location, and an interesting house, however the house is very hot and has poor ventilation, which makes for hot nights. The house is in need of maintenance and some TLC.
Terri, has been a wonderful host, quick to respond, incredibly understanding of our requirements and delivered on every promise. The presentation of the home is just what we were looking for a relaxed seaside interior in a light-filed and breezy location. The outdoor areas had the perfect amount of shade and sun. The walk through the sand dunes onto the beach is a captivating memory that lasts a lifetime and draws back every time. A throughly enjoyable beach home.
We loved it! Terri’s house is a short walk over a sand dune to the beach so proximity to surf and beach fun is fantastic. What we loved though was that the house is protected from beach winds that pick up at night so you can sit outside, hear the waves but not get battered (or cold) from being right on the water. The house was great for our family of 5. Two kids shared one room as there is a lofted bedroom. Everyone was happy! Thanks for having us Terri!
We loved our stay in Culburra! A short walk over the dunes to the beach made this the perfect location for regular beach walks. Our dog enjoyed the yard and beach. Although there were no fences, our dog has great recall didn’t even chase the wild bunnies. We loved exploring the area with a beach hop to Callala Bay and Huskisson. Highly recommend the wildfire pizza in Callala Beach and Jim’s prawns/Oysters. The convenience of Woollies close to the house also meant that cooking was easy too. The house was comfortable, relaxed, with lots of thoughtful touches like dog poo bags, enough hooks in the bathroom for towels, coffee pods and fans in the bedrooms. I agree that the house is getting a little tired and a few things are missing like oven mitts and dishwashing sponges (which we supplied). This didn’t dent our experience and we loved our stay.
Nice stay for a family of four (2 teenagers) and family dog. Could hear the waves crashing on the beach clearly in the evenings. Beach was a decent stroll over the dune. Hike to lighthouse was very nice, as was a day trip to Berry. Food locations are sparse in the Culburra Beach area but Woolworths is a few mins drive away. The actual accommodations are nice, through the VRBO needs some TLC. Facility wasn’t really “clean” despite the cleaning fee (dog droppings in front yard upon arrival, towel and some rugs left out on back porch, and just general cleanliness was a little lacking (eg flies attached to ceiling, a pair of gloves left in bathroom, and dust on lampshades)). Not looking for pristine as it’s a beach stay but thinking this part fell short as compared to other places we’ve stayed. The kids loved the closeness of the beach and our overall experience.
The property was well located right on the beach however we couldn't see the ocean unless sitting up on the viewing deck which was too hot. Maybe some umbrellas or something up there would be great. House was a little tired with no fly screens which made it difficult to open windows at night for fear of being eaten by mozzie. No aircon also made it a tad warm at night. I couldn't locate wi-fi password yet no biggie. The layout of the house was great and loved kicking back on the deck with some music and wine. Great spot, just wished we could have seen the ocean.
We loved everything about Culburra Dunes Beach House.
Right from the time of our initial enquiry we could see that Terri, the owner, was a great communicator answering our questions promptly.
The house is exactly as depicted in the photos, and a bonus for us was that neither of the houses on either side were occupied so it felt like we had the whole area to ourselves.
As mentioned in other reviews, the kitchen is well laid out making it really practical for cooking. Taking Terri's advice we bought some of the nicest prawns and oysters we've had from Nowra Fresh on our way from Sydney to the Beach House, and on the 2nd day went back and bought a magnificent 2.2kg Snapper that we barbecued on the Weber that night.
Our nine-year-old pointer loved the beach and it was so easy to access from the house.
We also loved using the open fire between the house and the dunes and sat there warming up, watching the surf, with a few drinks.
We'll be back soon.

Thank you for taking the time to write such a beautiful review. I am so glad you enjoyed your stay and the beautiful winter seafood!
Looking forward to having you back again soon.
The actual property was very nice. Although the property was beachfront, you could only see the ocean from a veranda off a bedroom, so you didn't have that real feeling of being beachfront. Unfortunately there was a house being built next door which we were only told about two days prior to our stay. Admittedly the owner did ask us to contact them if the noise was to much, but in reality you would have had to close down the site, so it was always going to effect our stay of 10 days. It would have been better to be told in advance and been given the option to cancel or at the least a discount on the price given the purpose of the holiday was to get away from the city and noise.

Absolutely love the location and proximity to the beach.
Our 4 year old daughter loved the loft bedroom in the main king room and our dog loved the yard and beach.
