Driftaway was a wonderful place to spend a week with a mixture of friends and family. So much to do if you wanted an active holiday and so many spaces to relax if you wanted to just unwind. The kitchen was the best equipped holiday rental kitchen I've stayed in- I love to cook so it was an absolute joy.

Our stay at Driftaway was fabulous, everything you could hope for and more. Fabulous views from the balcony with a glass of wine and a bbq feast.

The property was large & amazing with lovely views over the lake & has everything you need for a great stay. If you want a quiet relaxing get away smiths lake is the place & driftaway is definately the property to stay. We enjoyed our stay immensely.

Best view in Smiths

We didn’t have great weather but the view is amazing and unaffected by weather. There are plenty of indoor activities to keep everyone occupied until the sun comes out again.

Beautiful house and layout. Communication with host was excellent. I just wish i knew how steep of a hike it is to go down to the water. Bad knees, bad back, bad ankles, found it very hard to get to the water.I still highly recommend though, as its a beautiful place and even if you can't make the walk down to the water, you can access the water easy enough around at frothy coffee cafe.

A wonderful home

Driftaway is an amazing house! Plenty of room for us (two large families) with plenty of separate retreat places which meant that we were not on top of each other at all. The house is very well equipped - all the kitchen utensils you could need, plenty of space around the indoor and outdoor tables, lots of games, puzzles, books, dvds, catering for all ages. The view is lovely and it was great fun to enjoy the lake by kayak. Again, a great selection of life jackets all different sizes. You will not be disappointed by the house or location.

Relax , recharge and enjoy

The property is outstanding and the photos dont do it the full justice it deserves. The house is spotlessly clean and the theme presented is of a coastal beach residence. The owners have ensured that there is a box ticked for every visitor with kids toys , a Library and TV room , pool table etc. It has a beautifully positioned and has a wonderful ambience of overlooking the lake. The only challenge may be to guests who may be a lttle older or not very fit accessing the lake by the bush path which wasnt an issue for us. A definite place to visit and return too.

Amazing Stay

The property is perfect for an extended family We had an amazing time together - The pool table was a hit - Toys for kids were great - Outdoor spaces were spacious & wonderful - Kitchen was great with everything you need and great fridge space - high chair - big dining room table indoor & outdoors Grocery delivery didn’t work for us but would be great (got to the checkout to find no delivery on Good Friday & warning: check delivery address for your online order as I thought I did - our first big online shop after returning home was delivered to our holiday accommodation!) Kate was incredibly responsive and helpful We will definitely return 👏😊

Great Family House

We booked this house for the whole family to come together and celebrate my father's 70th birthday. There were 7 adults and 3 kids (ages 3-10). The house is very well equipped for kids, with lots of toys and games included. This was great, as it meant we had a lot less stuff to pack. The view over Smiths Lake is incredible, and can be taken in from the large outdoor deck. The kitchen was very well equipped, and there were a couple of pantry staples available (e.g. salt/pepper). The house is in reasonable condition, but it's definitely a holiday home and has been well used. This isn't a negative, again considering it's targeted at families with kids. Overall, we had a great time and would definitely recommend this place to large families, or perhaps a couple of families looking for a combined place to stay.

Drift Away

This is an excellent property for a family gathering or group of friends. Loads of space to spread a group and very well equipped. The evening sunset view over the lake is really wonderful. The property manager, Kate was very helpful. Not for publication but for the owner only. We had 2 issues:- 1) The internet is lousy which is disappointing as Smiths now has NBN we really couldn't use the web at all which is a standard requirement. 2) There is a gas smell/leak from the laundry that can be detected where the outside clothes rail is located, this needs to be fixed. However, overall thank you so much we really enjoyed our family Xmas at Drift Away.
