Family vacation

Overall we had a good time. First the good The house had great views of the lake Had plenty of room and accommodations for my whole family The decks were nice to sit on all day and take in the views and relax in hot tub The TV's had netflix and plenty to watch for kids. The bad The beds were absolutely uncomfortable The carpets were a little dingy There was no cabinet locks on cabinets for my one year old that likes to get into things so that would have been nice . Some of the spindles on the deck were loose so was afraid the whole time my boy would fall two stories if one gave out . The stair going down to the lake could use some attention were they have been washed out from rains . In the pictures of property showed a dart board that is no longer there little bumbed out about that as we were looking forward to doing that one of the reasons I chose this house . There was no fire pit like I thought there was supposed to be . And the chairs by the lake are so weathered I sat in one and it crumbled Air conditioning did not work very good at all. And lastly the 3rd night we were there the power went out at 9pm and stayed off till 3am no candles or back up lights we were in the dark for hrs . We made the best of it and made some memories but overall could have been much better.

Great Spot!

Tucked back off the “beaten path” far enough to be a bit secluded and very peaceful but not so far from town to be inconvenient. Our entire family thoroughly enjoyed our stay sitting on the deck and enjoying the colors and lots of birds.

Great family weekend getaway

We really enjoyed our quick weekend stay at Douglas Lake. The lake was starting to drain, but we were still able to enjoy a day on the boat. This house was perfect for us, 4 adults and 3 small kids. The kids loved the loft area with the trundle beds. It was a perfect setup for them. We enjoyed the lake views from the hot tub on the upper deck each evening in the chilly air. Overall, great stay. Thank you!

Family and friends relaxing!

It was very peaceful. The hot tub was warm not hot but still relaxing. The steps were a little scary going down to the dock, but no one fell and got hurt. So all is well. We loved fishing off the dock, floating on the lake and just relaxing. All 10 of us were comfortable in the cabin.

Family getaway

Everything about this property was perfect for our family. We had 3 small children who loved the hot tub and playing on the wrap around porch even on the rainy days and every question I had was quickly answered. Would highly recommend this for anyone wanting to get away and relax.

Great cabin

The cabin was amazing. The view was beautiful. We enjoyed time out on the porch and the deck and it was very relaxing. The beds were not very comfortable, but that was the only thing negative I can say about this house. We would definitely stay here again

Peaceful cabin by the lake

Our family of four really enjoyed our stay. The home is not terribly far from Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge and The Great Smoky Mountains National Park. We loved being able to come home to the peace and quiet of our home by the lake. The home was very clean when we arrived. The beds are comfortable and the kitchen has everything you need should you decide to make your own meals. We loved relaxing in the hot tub. swimming in the lake and relaxing on the deck overlooking the water. There are stairs going down to the lake, which might be difficult for someone with knee or hip issues. However, I had knee surgery and was able to make it down. But it is somewhat challenging. However, once by the lake we enjoyed jumping off the dock into the water and making s'mores in the fire pit. This home is advertised as sleeping 10. I must say that I think it would be tight with that many people. The living area only seats 4. However, if you only plan to sleep in the house and you plan to spend the days outdoors, it might be fine. It does have a large deck with plenty of seating. I think the house looks larger in the photos than it does in reality. It was perfect for our family of four and we could have easily fit a couple of more people. All in all, the home is as shown in the photos (with the exception of it looking a bit larger and there is no game machine or inversion table). We loved living lake life and would definitely recommend this home.

Quiet cottage on the lake

My husband, two teenage daughters and myself stayed here for four days and it was wonderful. It is about half an hour to Pigeon Forge and about 45 minutes to Gatlinburg. We hiked in the Smoky Mountains National Park, and explored Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. It was AWESOME to come home to our quiet cabin by the lake, We swam at sunset every night, enjoyed the view from the deck in the morning, made s'mores in the fire pit, and relaxed in the hot tub. The property was super clean when we arrived. The kitchen has everything you need should you choose to make meals. Our beds were very comfortable and even though it was hot outside, the ceiling fans and A/C units kept our cabin nice and cool. This property is advertised to sleep 10. I will say that even though it might sleep 10, it is on the small side for that amount of people. It was perfect for our family of four (we could have had maybe a couple of extra teenagers fit comfortably), but it would be really tight for 10 adults. The living room only seats four, so again - having 10 people would be a lot for the space. However, if you only plan to sleep in the cabin and spend the days outside, you should be fine. The lake is beautiful, clean and peaceful and the deck is big enough for everyone to sit. So all in all I greatly recommend this place. It's a beautiful and peaceful little haven!

Perfect Stay

This cabin will make you not want to leave. We wanted a lakefront cabin with private dock access and a hot tub for a great price. The cabin was immaculate! It was super clean, the hot tub was ready to go, and fresh towels were laid out for us. The entrance was keyless so it was hassle-free. There is a huge wrap-around porch that we sat on every morning and night, we played darts (unlimited play), watched some TV, sat on the dock, used the outdoor fire pit (bought logs from Food City), and used the hot tub every night! The fridge has an automatic ice machine in the freezer and they provided us with a full bag of ice on top of that (no in-fridge water but you can buy bottled/gallon water at Food City). The kitchen pantry has all of the essentials and the kitchen has a digital wall clock with the weather. There is a stackable washer and dryer to do laundry and there was some detergent. There is an indoor fireplace but we never used it. The only things missing were shampoo/conditioner and soap in the bathroom but you can easily buy some for cheap at Food City. I brought my own hairdryer but I believe there was one provided. It's less than half an hour away from Pigeon Forge and less than an hour away from Gatlinburg and Smoky Mountains National Park. They also provide you with a large selection of coupon books for attractions. You can also rent kayaks and boats around the area. We rented a very nice pontoon boat for $100/4 hours at Lighthouse Pointe Marina. We would definitely come back and rent this cabin again!
