Perfect little place for our wedding weekend.
This is a perfect little getaway for 2-4 people. We stayed here for my nephews wedding. We had a couple of small glitches that were addressed quickly and fairly by the homeowner. If you go in the winter, the bedroom is extremely cold so make sure the portable heater is available before going to bed for the night. The owner will provide it for you.
My two cousins and I spent a long weekend in Union Bridge to see family. This rental was really great. Quiet, relaxing, all the amenities we needed and more. We loved, loved, loved the horses, donkey, kitties, chickens! Jen and Bryan were very gracious and responsive hosts. They gave our family a tour during feeding time of all the farm animals and my cousins were just wild about that! Great experience and will for sure be a return customer next trip up. Thanks Jen and Bryan!
Great property. Quiet and relaxing. This was just what we needed while waiting to close on our new home. Our doggies enjoyed sniffing around at all the interesting scents outside on the farm, although they were a little intimidated by the horses...lol. wonderful hosts. Would definitely recommend.
The place was great. Located near Westminster and Linganore Winery. Scenic roads and historic old homes in the local area. Jennifer was very helpful as were the horse owners we met there.
We had an amazing experience at this property! We found it clean and cozy upon arrival, and were greeted by curious horses nosing over the fences while we drove in. Jen was welcoming and responsive to any questions, and everyone we met was so friendly (humans, cats, and horses). I couldn’t recommend it enough if you’re looking for a quiet place to stay within easy driving distance of Frederick, MD or Gettysburg, PA.
The rental was exactly as described. Our stay was very pleasant. You can get up close and personal with the horses! The whole unit was very comfortable and homey. We would definitely consider staying again if we are in the area.
We had such a wonderful time during our stay at the retreat. I truly loved the setting. The farm and surrounding area is beautiful with amazing sunsets! We were very grateful to have been able to bring our dogs with us to be a part of our vacation. The location was great to all our explorations. Thank you for all you did and looking forward to returning in the future!
Needed to get away while work was being done at our home. I work from home now and this place was quiet and the views were to die for. Our dog was with us and it was a great place for her as well.

We love this place!
This is a fabulous "get away" from our ordinary suburban lives. The setting is so lovely, with rolling hills and trees and fields. The cottage is perfectly comfortable. And having the horses right there makes it sort of magic. The host is very responsive to any issues that crop up. We hope to come again.

Country horse farm retreat
Nice location, great setting, friendly folks...horses very neat...unique experience. Accomodations could have been cleaner. Comforters and quilts seemed not fresh. Very good experience. Recommended!
My husband, daughter and I booked this property as we wanted to stay convenient to our family and have our small dog with us. We loved this place! Being on a horse farm we were greeted by horses every morning, They stood on their fences waiting for us to come over and let them! The property is so peaceful and relaxing. Very convenient but outside of the congestion of traffic. The property has a fully stocked kitchen with every utensil we needed to prepare meals. Comfortable - and out dog was very happy here as well. We will definitely be back!

We were very disillusioned with the inside of the property in contrast to the description. We were prepared for the working farm environment however, during the course of our stay we killed over 8 dozen flies. Cobwebs were present throughout the inside of the property and "complimentary toiletries" were in actuality well-used, full-size bottles of various items hanging on a shower caddy. The shower curtain rod was not attached to the wall but rather sitting atop wood trim above the shower walls. The floor transition strip was broken and covered with a corner of a rug. The most egregious issue was realizing the bedroom was not built to code and that there was no egress/exit from the bedroom in the event of a fire.
All in all, we purchased 2 fly swatters, brought in our own fire extinguisher (since none was to be found upon inspection), and did not unpack or prepare meals due to the amount of flies and fly excrement.
We stayed because we had already paid for the week. We could not afford to loose this money and pay for additional accommodations, however this was really a disappointing experience.

Hi Eric, we take guest feedback seriously and passed your comments on to the homeowner who would like to share the following:
- We strive to provide our guests with a great guest experience, so we were disappointed to hear your feedback and want to take a moment to address your concerns.
- We take our listing accuracy seriously and it mentions the farm environment and potential presence of bugs. We do have a bug zapper light bulb in place to help manage them. We did discuss this with you upon your arrival, and it's also mentioned in the welcome note on the whiteboard. Flies can increase if doors are left open for an extended period, and their life span is typically less than 24 hours.
- We appreciate you bringing the cleanliness issues to our attention. We will address the concerns with our cleaning service.
- The broken floor edging is covered with a carpet and has never been a problem. To encounter this issue, furniture would need to be moved, but we're sorry if this had a negative impact on your stay. We wish you had brought your concerns to our attention earlier in your stay. We would have been more than happy to assist you and remedy any issues or concerns you may have had. We could have moved you to another location, or refund you for the days not spent at the property. We want to ensure all of our guests are happy.
- We were surprised by your comment about the fire extinguisher and wish you had reached out to the Guest Contact. We would have been more than happy to help you locate the fire extinguisher in the cabinet over the fridge for safety purposes.
We do all we can to make the best possible stay, and we look forward to this property hosting many satisfied guests.
My husband and I could not believe how lucky we were to find this lovely spot, so near to DC but feeling like a different world. The setting is rolling hills and fields (with horses!), the cottage is spotless and totally comfortable. Good reading chairs, great mattress & bedding, well-equipped kitchen made it easy to relax & settle in. We also enjoyed easy drives around nearby countryside & charming little towns. We did have a little trouble finding it - some technical glitch kept us from getting the directions on time - but once there we LOVED it and are eager to go back.
We had a very interesting stay. The owner helped us find a nearby clinic for Buddy on a Sunday. He ended up with pneumonia for the length of our stay. However, the area is phenomenal. What amazing country. This is ideal for anyone who loves the country, horses and great people.
If you need a break from city life THIS IS THE PLACE. Beautiful property, amazing sunrises, friendly horses, great hosts.
Apartment is modern and stocked with everything you need for making meals. But really, I can't say enought about how peaceful and claming this little horse farm is. Bring your bikes, great riding to several nearby breweries.
I sent an info request before booking, and did not receive a response. I thought it might be because I ended up booking shortly after. During my stay, there were dirty towels hanging on the back of the bathroom door, the water in the kitchen did not work, and there was a ceiling leak in the bathroom. I messaged just to let the owner know, not that it was a big deal, and received NO response at all. The last thing I want to do is mess with someone's side hustle, but it didn't seem right. Will stay elsewhere next year.
Jennifer and Brian are the most amazing people. The ranch was peaceful and so beautiful to wake up petting all the horses. I look forward to going back . Thank you both for making my week amazing.
