The house was very comfortable and completely met our needs. It was well stocked and had terrific views of the Mississippi River. The fact that we could have or dogs with us was without a doubt a plus. We would definitely be interested in staying there again. One drawback was the early checkout time.
Overall enjoyed the property and amenities. The property was well stocked and met all of our needs. It was a great location and we look forward to staying again.
We were here for a weekend stay and my boyfriend is from Clinton. This was the perfect place to have his family stop in and out for coffee, lunch and dinner! We even had a slumber party on Saturday night with his son, daughter in law and grandkids! Such an amazing time at a great location! The river was so peaceful to wake up to.

What you see in the pictures is what you get. It's obviously not super modern or up to date but it is a beautiful area and it has everything you need for a quiet getaway. We would definitely stay again and throughly enjoyed the wildlife and beautiful views of the river. It reminded me of going to the deer lease with my dad growing up.
Pleasantly pleased with everything. So very cute with lots room! Booked this place before reading the reviews. The reviews were negative. So glad the reviews were wrong. Only thing that would make this place more pleasing would be air conditioning upstairs. Difficult to sleep in heat. I should have noticed while reading the advertisement for this place was that it didn’t have air conditioning. Otherwise, very happy.
We were coming in to town for a funeral. Less than 3 hours before check in the booking was cancelled. Just not ideal. I understand if there were issues but please let us know farther ahead. We drove 4 hours in for the funeral and were already in town. Also, communication was incredibly difficult as it was not routed to the host but through some third party intermediary called Evolve. I tried both calling and texting the host the evening before to confirm details. No response until Evolve called to cancel the entire listing a few hours before check in.I cannot verify the property details, location, or cleanliness as the booking was cancelled at the last minute. Please disregard those ratings. The communication, check in, and overall rating stand.

From the owner: "Hi Jessie, we’re truly sorry for the frustration and inconvenience caused by the last-minute cancellation, especially given the difficult circumstances of your visit. Unfortunately, we were alerted to a serious sewer line issue just a few hours before your scheduled check-in, and despite our efforts to resolve it in time, it couldn’t be repaired until the following day. We completely understand how upsetting the timing must have been, and we regret that this impacted your plans. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience—we’re using your feedback to improve how we handle emergencies and communication going forward."
The property was more private than we were anticipating. Very quiet neighborhood on a dead end gravel road. The house has it's own dock and boat launch, which was not expected. We brought our fishing boat, so it was perfect! There were a lot of backup supplies that came in handy, also. The house is a bit dated, but we did not mind; it did not affect our experience at all. A couple critiques: consider putting curtains on the windows (especially the bedrooms.) There is central AC, but the bedrooms get pretty warm and then stay warm overnight. They would help the AC not struggle as much to cool the house during the day, in general. They would also help for those that aren't early risers. We were up with the sun by 5:30am each day and would have liked to have been able to sleep longer, as we work evenings. Also, the power went out our last night there. Being on a well system, we ended up with no water also. We noticed almost all of the neighbors have backup generators, which makes me think that it happens regularly. Should maybe consider doing this also. Note: it did storm our last day there. Overall it was a great place and a great time. We would definitely stay here again!
It took me a while to do this because it was traumatic. There was no first floor bedroom as advertised. The house was damp and musty. The bedding wasn't clean. We had to carry my 92 year old mother up and down the flight of 16 stairs. It was a fire hazard because there was only one exit on the main floor and the sliding doors on the second floor along with the balcony were not safe. There was a plastic tablecloth or something covering one of the beds with sheets that had no elastic. There were no curtains or blinds for privacy or to provide shade. I reached out to the number provided on the fridge and never got a reply. I would expect some type of compensation or refund. It was awful and your company should be ashamed to have them in your listing.
The location on the river was amazing. The house was well equipped for guests and had a great layout for hanging out. We had a daily woodpecker visitor that really wanted to join us knocking on the windows. The house could use some work, a couple outlets we went to use did not work on main floor and upper master room, and one lamp had no light bulb. The upper sliding doors were difficult to open and close. But overall a nice stay.

Maintenance needs to be done before renting
This could be an awesome place to stay, the location is amazing, the space is huge, so much effort put in to cleaning, however for safety reasons repairs do me to be made. The upper deck from the bedrooms is completely unsafe and should NOT have people on. While we stayed, one afternoon into evening there was some major rain and the ceiling inside the enclosed porch area leaked to the point of some of the ceiling tiles collapsing onto the the floor. Making the entire space unusable. Clearly there is and has been water damage in the past and the presence of black mold is strong. All of us had sinus issues and my husband is allergic to it and ended up sick for a few days after. He is also a carpenter so our assessment comes from knowledge.
