Gorgeous lake front view. Really enjoyed watching 13 deer frolicking in the morning. Lots of games for indoor enjoyment. Also kayaks and noodles for lazying by the dock. At night pergola near dock beautifully lit and very cozy. Perfect
Great view and access to a very nice part of the lake. We enjoyed the canoe and a swim and taking in the view from the seating in the yard. The house had a well furnished kitchen and comfortable mattress in the master bedroom. Need improvement on the paddles for the kayak and canoe - only broken and too short paddles available and only one kayak paddle, so we couldn’t go out together.
We had a very relaxing week! The house is nice and as described. It's set on a great waterfront lot with a terrific view. The grounds and landscaping have not received any serious attention in a long time, so a chance for improvement there, but would certainly rent again.
The location was excellent. House is an older home but it was clean and views were excellent and it felt open and nice size kitchen. Approx 5 miles to a nice grocery store and Bridgewater marina was not much further than that. The views from the house were amazing. We rented a boat for 2 days and docked at the house overnight. Take your lake map with you. Lake is huge so you need to watch your channel markers. Hike to Sharp Top Mountain was worth it and a beautiful view. It's a straight up climb but well worth it. The State Park also has some great hiking trails.
Great location of the house and lots included in the rental fee. We used the canoe and kayaks daily. The house was fairly clean, upon leaving we noticed garbage from previous renters and socks under beds. No complaints about house, loved it! B

Liked: Cleanliness, location
The property needs maintenance and the home needs a refresh. Old furniture, broken fixtures and just an overall neglected environment. The view is very nice. Dear come to visit and that’s special but their deposits need to be picked up. Watch your steps. We could be more critical but perhaps this will serve as constructive criticism to make necessary improvements to justify the near 400/night we paid.

Liked: Check-in, location, listing accuracy
Disliked: Cleanliness, communication
We arrived and there were dead bugs in the kitchen, in both bathtubs, on the floors. There was a note from the exterminator that they had just been there, so I figured maybe a miscommunication, and no one cleaned afterward. There were spider webs and dust bunnies big enough that it was obvious no one had cleaned in quite a while. There are notes all over the house letting you exactly what you are to do, including what ply toilet paper you are to use, we took both keys out of lock box one for myself one for my husband, unpacked, locked the front door and went out the back door to go fish off the pier, only took fishing gear and phones, 2 hours later found out the back door locked on its own and lock ourselves out, no note on the door telling you that you might want to take keys. A day later went to take showers, no hot water, had to call, no one had turned on the water heater, and the host when called got an attitude when I called. All of this may sound minor, but due to the fact that we were charged a cleaning fee, and I assume everyone else is as well, I thought that maybe the house would have been ready. The house is in desperate need of updating, after the ordeal with the bugs and the dust bunnies I really didn't want to use anything in the house. I would not stay in this house again and I definitely will not ever use CB rentals.
We enjoyed being able to walk down to the dock easily without a huge hill that most of the homes at SML have.. weather was beautiful for us this past week, Thanksgiving Week. The only thing that really needed to be done was the leaves should have been blown off the driveway, the walk area and all the steps so you could see where you were going…but not a big deal, I swept the walk areas myself. We would definitely rent again!!!
In addition to the perfect weather, this home and location were perfect! Great views and amenities. We didn't find time to use the kayaks or the canoe but we did sit down by the water and enjoyed it immensely. We visited the state park, the Food Lion and Mango's for dinner and nightlife. Everything was super close by. We WILL definitely be back!
Property was as described and the guys enjoyed our stay.
If any comment, it would have been nice to have the boat lift up and afford that area to be used to store boats. T
