Great space just right for 3 of us, kitchen was really well appointed, owners provided nice breakfast items. Beautiful piece of property in the country outside of Cville
Property owners were exceptionally gracious and welcoming. The property is beautiful, quiet and met all our needs.
We look forward to returning, and we would highly recommend this property.
Thanks so much for the hospitality.
The annex of the main home is where we stayed. The area where the house is located was beautiful and very quiet. The owners answered the few questions we had very quickly and were very a very nice couple. Would recommend if you’re looking for a quiet place to stay away from town but still close enough to shopping and dining.
My husband, daughter, and I stayed here for my son’s graduation in May. It is a beautiful property, very quiet and private. We did not spend much time on the property because of graduation activities, but it was close enough to downtown to make it fairly easy to come back and forth. If you’re looking for a country spot, it’s a great choice.
The hosts were very nice. He checked to make sure we had everything we needed and that we were comfortable. Our privacy was respected. The place was very clean and we had everything and MORE then what we needed to be comfortable. The host provided a continental breakfast for us which was very thoughtful. The place is beautifully decorated. Pretty bed linens. Master bath shower was awesome. Mountain views and visiting deer right on the property. We were a party of three (us and our 16 year old daughter) and the space was just right for us. There is a fully equipped kitchen but there isn’t a dining area or table. We didn’t mind that because we ate out. I would highly recommend staying here. I would stay there again. It’s a very nice place. A great place for a couple’s getaway!
I stayed at Braeside Annex for a week with my teenage daughter while she attended a camp at Boar’s Head. It was the best VRBO stay I have ever had. The apartment was beautifully appointed with two separate bathrooms, an incredibly spacious master suite, and a perfect smaller bedroom for one person. The owners could not have been more gracious, checking in by phone in advance of our stay and leaving breakfast items in the kitchen on our first night. The grounds are beautiful. A very special place.
We absolutely loved this annex! It’s located on a beautiful small hill in the woods and has distinct Virginian vibe to it. The hosts Joe and Lisa were incredibly friendly and helpful
The property was just as described. It was on a beautiful piece of property and very closed convenient to UVA! Joe was an awesome host! He responded right away and helped us with what ever we needed. The continental breakfast was a great touch as well! We toasted our UVA graduate with the champagne he left for us! I would definitely recommend staying here and would stay here again myself. Thank you Joe for your hospitality!
We enjoyed a long weekend at Braeside Annex, part of a handsome property. Very private, quiet. Large master suite and bath. Separate sitting room with cable tv, efficient kitchen. Suited us perfectly. Only drawback was the weather - too rainy to enjoy a walk down to the pond.
If you want to get a feeling of 21st Century Virginia gentility, the Braeside Annex is just the right place. Make sure you walk the grounds to see the beautiful landscape.

We loved our time at this house and would love to come back! Owner couldn't be nicer, and it's a beautiful apartment on gorgeous grounds. The master shower is something to look forward to as well - great water pressure and a wonderful way to wake up. It's a very tasteful home and a great place to relax and recharge. It was clean as a whistle with a lovely well-stocked kitchen; the owner had even left us plenty of nice breakfast treats for the first day. We very much hope to come back!
Lovely property. When I booked, I had originally planned to go to some local parks to enjoy nature and the countryside. Once I checked in, I realized that I didn't need to go anywhere to do that. The back deck has a spectacular view of the Blue Ridge Mountains, and deer and rabbits wandered past while I was enjoying my coffee.
My wife and I stayed at the Annex when we were in Charlottesville for our daughter's graduation from UVA Law School. It's a guesthouse attached to a lovely country home located just outside of Charlottesville. It is close to the Boar's Head Resort and Farmington Country Club. The Annex is superior to any hotel suite and it is quite spacious. The grounds are lovely and the owners are wonderful hosts. Both my wife and I enjoyed our stay and considered ourselves lucky to have stumbled on this particular property.
A girlfriend and I stayed at Braeside for our "girls away weekend". It was so beautiful and comfortable! The grounds are amazing and the cottage is as beautiful as the pictures. Our host contacted us by phone to leave all the arrival details. We found everything we needed for the next morning breakfast already provided for us by our hosts so that we would not have to go to the store that evening. It was a very short drive to downtown Charlottesville and only 20 minutes to Monticello. I would recommend this location for anyone visiting the Charlottesville area. We will be back!!
