Enjoy this Shawnigan Lake waterfront property and everything it offers to make your getaway the relaxing and fun retreat you are hoping for.
We have hosted many family reunions, birthday parties, bachelorette weekends, and sports teams competing with the local schools.
The home offers a bright kitchen, dining and living room area where families and friends can gather to make memories and enjoy views of the lake. The home also offers a large family room with a pool table and foosball table.
This vacation property sleeps up to 12 with 4 bedrooms (1 King, 2 Queen beds and a single over Queen bunk bed), Queen hide-a-bed in the family room, and a single movable cot. There are 3 full bathrooms and laundry.
The large deck is a great place to gather and offers morning sun and full views of the lake. Down the stairs is another sitting area around the firepit (wood fires are only permitted when BC Coastal Fire Centre does not have bans or restrictions in place).
The large dock is where you will spend your day swimming, fishing and floating. There is a small beach for the little ones and boat whips to hook up your own boat. The covered area offers shade from the endless summer sun. Please note that there are stairs leading down to the lake.
There is plenty of parking inside the gates, with beautiful garden beds and a level grassy area for yard games. And if you need more to do there is access across the road to the Cowichan Valley Trail for hiking, mountain biking and the Kinsol trestle. Enjoy dinner at The Lakehouse or take a local wine tour.
The home is well appointed, including linens, towels, and all kitchenware. The water system is state of the art and is safe for drinking. Wifi is available both in the house and on the dock.
You will have private access to the home, the dock and 1 acre property; however the property is the owner’s primary residence as required by B.C. laws and will be on site in a separate location. The host is available via the VRBO app, or via text/phone.
There is a flock of chickens which provides you the opportunity to collect fresh eggs and interact with the friendly flock. There is a rooster who is very friendly, but be aware, he has a loud cock-a doodle-doo! The owners also have a friendly dog named Copper.

We spent two nights in this beautiful home for a hockey weekend. The view was amazing, hosts were great and communication was awesome. The house was well stocked, clean and the kitchen was spacious and perfect for cooking. We will definitely come back and stay here again.
Had a wonderful stay on a property that was better than the photos! The Smith family went above and beyond for us even installing gates on day two, to keep our granddaughter safe on the deck. So many amenities for a perfect family vacation right down to the fishing rods, paddle boat, paddle boards, and chairs on the private dock. The gardens are also gorgeous. Highly recommend.
We stayed at this property for my mom’s milestone birthday. It easily fit 3 kids, 6 adults, and 1 dog! We had a great time relaxing, swimming, using the dock, hot tub, cooking, bonfire… and more!
It’s a beautiful property and the hosts were very kind and generous.

Thank you for your kind comments Danielle. We absolutely love to see families enjoying the lake in March! And furry friends deserve a vacation too.
This beautiful home had everything we were hoping for..enough space for a large extended family. The views of the lake were stunning.
We enjoyed the kayaks and just hanging out on the dock. The kitchen was fully equipped.
Shauna and Vance were friendly and helpful.
We hope to come back for a return visit one day.

Hilary and her family were wonderful guests. It’s always heart warming to hear the laughter of family when they are together in a safe space having fun. The home was left in perfect condition. We would love to host this family again.
I was with a group of 11 made up of very dear old friends, and family. We were blown away by how perfect our stay was at Shauna & Vince’s lakeside house. Everyone had space if they wanted to just relax and there was lots of communal space that was used for fab meals in a fully equipped kitchen, game nights, campfires and even dock time as the weather was stunning for October. Beds were comfy. The trail system just across the road was well used for walks every day.
The hosts were easily reachable and answered all questions that arose for our large group.
We definitely will be keeping this place as a favourite and hope to be back next year.
