Host was wonderful and the house was perfect for what we wanted in staying in authentic tatami rooms! FANTASTIC. Beautiful Buddhist shrine very near and the Kiyomizu-dera shrine is a nice walk away.

An immaculate property.

A spotless and very nicely appointed accommodation. Located near several points of interest and bus stops, this was a great place for us to base our Kyoto exploration from. The host was lovely and very accommodating, would very much recommended this stay, especially for a couple or smaller family.

Beautiful stay in Kyoto

The space is very beautiful and comfortable. There are many beautiful ceramics throughout the home and our host put gorgeous fresh cut flowers on display. The location was great and the host was helpful with directions to get there and restaurant recommendations nearby. We were able to walk to Gion and about 20 minute bus ride from Kyoto station. Would love to stay again if we return to Kyoto.

A wonderful place to stay! Beautifully kept home with a wonderful and responsive host who gave us many real-time recommendations on where to eat etc. A gem!

Great host and nice stay to experience Kyoto!

HiMoewYa’s place provided such a very beautiful and peaceful respite. It was only a 5 minute walk away from the bus station(also near to cab ride if you want) from Kyoto Station, and a 10-15 minutes walk into the city center, and offered many of the creature-comforts necessary for traveling with kids ( a well-functioning kitchen, a washing machine, plenty of gorgeously-appointed space, excellent air conditioning, and comfortable beds). HiMoewYa was very communicative and went out of his way to coordinate our train journey for our transport to Kyoto Station on to highly recommend a stay at HiMoewYa’s place, especially if traveling as a family!

You won’t go wrong!

Loved our stay! Location-wise, walking distance to Kiyomizu-dera temple. About a 10 mins walk to the subway station, and 15 mins walk into the city center. The neighborhood is quiet and clam. We grabbed a taxi from Kyoto station after arriving via the Shinkansen from Okasa. The unit itself was clean and pristine. A beautiful space with lovely furnishings and a neat minimalist aesthetic. Great communication from the host. Highly recommend!

perfect travel！

The facilities are complete! The living environment is very comfortable and clean. The layout is also very careful. The room is very good. It is very close to the scenic spots and the station, which is within walking distance. At night, you can walk around. It's a new experience. Great house in general. And!! The landlord was super nice and answered any questions with patience and kindness. Recommend!

Very nice remodeled home

The apartment is beautifully updated. Check in was super simple and our host texted me back about any questions immediately. We had no issues with our stay and I fully recommend this property with a few things to note. These are not bad things, they are just things to be aware of, particularly as a western traveler. 1. All sleeping is on bed rolls. From the photos, I had assumed the raised bed was a western style bed. It is not. There are extras in the closet you can stack to make it softer, but it’s still a far cry from a western bed. There is also no soft furniture to lounge on - no couch, no tv, etc. 2. The laundry is a washer, but there is no dryer. So if you plan to do laundry, keep this in mind, including weather to be able to hang your clothes to dry. 3. The exact location of the house can be a bit tricky for Ubers/taxi and food delivery. We managed okay- but you can’t drive on the street so some struggled to find the location where you can get dropped off. This is very close, less than a city block so it’s not a distance problem just a taxis finding it challenge. 4. It’s a bit of a walk to anything- 10-15 min. The house is sorta situated under a highway overpass so you walk up and out to the main road and down a bit. Once out on the main road, there are restaurants, a 7-11, etc. it’s not far… but it’s also not super close. We had a great stay so these are more meant as FYI/tips for staying here. Highly recommend if looking for a stay in a Japanese style home.
