Great location

I really enjoyed my stay. The condo was well equipped, clean and an amazing location. Communication was great and check-in instructions were easy to follow. Would definitely seek out this condo again for my next trip to the Big Island.

Excellent Location, spacious condo

The condo is located right in heart of Kailua - Kona. Close to all the restaurants and shops. Unit was comfortable without air conditioning with a nice cross breeze. David was very quick to respond to any inquiries. We definitely would stay again.

Awesome Sauce Location

We really loved our stay here. We enjoyed the large living room, kitchen amenities, ability to do laundry, and the convenience of being able to walk across the street to the beach, restaurants, outdoor markets, etc. This place is not fancy but neither are we. It was perfect for our family's stay in Hawaii. Thank you David you were an excellent host.

Thoroughly enjoyable

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. It's in a wonderful location, within walking distance to so many restaurants, bars, shopping and on and on. We didn't rent a car this year, our 3rd year in this area, and walked everywhere we went (except for an island bus tour and the Kona trolley.) Also, you can see and hear the ocean from the condo which was very relaxing for us. Lastly, we found the condo to be very clean and it had everything we needed for our stay.

The unit is great. Location is awesome. The only issue was the noise from the other connecting property...young adults drinking and making noise from mid-night toi 2am.

Everything we needed

David was a great, communicative host. His apartment is centrally located, making it easy to walk to many good restaurants and cafes, plus the included parking made exploring the island easy. The apartment is clean, nicely decorated, and the kitchen is fully stocked. It does sometimes get a little bit loud in the area at night but we weren't really bothered. Overall, we would definitely stay again!

Spacious unit in central Kailua-Kona

Excellent place to stay. David was very thorough on the check in procedure, and with the operational details of the condo. It is a large 1 bedroom unit and could fit two additional people with the Murphy bed in the living room. The location is walking distance to several good restaurants, and sunset views. We enjoyed fresh fruit for breakfast on the lanai, which had a partial ocean view. It was a great place to base out of for our week of exploring the Big Island!

Totally Right

I have stayed at many VRBO properties and this one is in a perfect location for all things Kailua-Kona and big island. Property is loved and not just a rental. Owner provided so much more than just a place to stay. From appliances to snorkels it’s provided. Thanks so much for the great memories for my family.

Great location!

Enjoyed our stay in this very clean and comfortable condo. Has everything you need including a lanai with a partial ocean and pool view with delightful plumeria and palms. We did not know that the condo had a cooler and a variety of “toys” (snorkeling gear) for playing in the ocean including size 11 pool shoes, 2 pool noodles, 2 old beach chairs, 1 folding chair, umbrella, and boogie board. Next to restaurants on Alii Drive! A bit noisy at night from tennis courts next door and traffic on Kuakini.

Great Location

We loved it! There was a slight hiccup upon check in but the host was quick to respond and took care of everything. The unit is amazing-wonderful lanai, great amenities and very roomy. The decor is perfect and you just can’t beat the location. Best place to eat (in our opinion) is A-Bay’s right next door. It’s one of the more affordable places and the food is delicious; try their Avocado Toast for breakfast and for lunch/dinner get the fish and chips-you will not be disappointed. Sad to be leaving-had the best vacation ever! Thank you Mr. Threefoot.

Perfect spot in town for our family of four

This was the perfect place to stay with my wife and two teenage daughters. The location was excellent, and the living/sleeping arrangements surpassed our needs. We enjoyed the view of the ocean and Hualalai, and it was great to be able to just pop across the street or up to the 7th floor for great views of sunset. The parking spot was convenient to the room and easy for us to head out on adventures north or south. The teenagers slept in the bedroom and enjoyed some much-needed privacy. My wife and I slept on the very comfortable murphy bed and appreciated being able to stay up later and sit out on the lanai. The place was equipped with everything that we needed, and I can't imagine coming back to the Big Island without staying here!

Excellent Vacation Rental

Location, location, location. David's condo is in a great spot - easy access to shopping, food, beach and more. It's light and airy with a great island feel. There is a wall of windows leading to the lanai - which lets in lots of light, and with the windows open, there is a great air flow throughout the space. My son and his wife shared this condo with their two daughters. It worked wonderfully for them... Additionally, David was great to work with. We plan to rent again when we return to Kailua-Kona.

Hi, I'm David, one of four siblings that own this condo in Kona. I live in Portland, Oregon with my wife, Eileen. We love travel and have stayed in many locations with Home Away over the years. I enjoy playing banjo,, guitar, learning to speak Danish and physical activity. My favorite activities when visiting the condo are walking, bike riding and hiking along with the usual activities of snorkeling and sunbathing. There is so much to see. and do there. Our visits are always full of wonder and joy.

Por qué escogió este alojamiento

This condo was our father's home since the 1980. He has since passed away. During his life there, he absolutely loved the islands and was very active in hiking and exploring Hawaii. He never missed a sunset in front of the Kona Ali'i lanai. I spent many memorable evenings with his community of friends, watching the sunset and hoping for the "Green Flash" We saw a few times but it was always an unknown. The location is perfect for getting around. The ocean is front and center, there is a great coffee house nearby and many restaurants minutes away. The condo has a fine pool, water feature. We provide WiFI and cable TV as well as a DVD player with internet content. It's quiet and convenient.

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

One of my favorite features is the water feature. It is just below our lanai and it has a relaxing sound but best of all, it attracts local bird populations. At any time you an see cardinals, japanese white eyes and java sparrows. Occasionally a more rare species will visit. We've had them venture into the living room when we've left the patio door open. It is something I always look forward to during our visits.
