Perfect location

Rented unit for 1 week in early June. Wish we had rented for 2 more weeks! Stubbs staff was very courteous and everything went very smoothly. Unit was perfect. Great ocean view and perfect beach for walking

COVID vacation

The condo was spacious. The location looking out to the ocean with stairs to the beach was perfect. The kitchen had everything we needed for simple dinners. It was also very nice to have two full bathrooms. Knowing this was during COVID restrictions we knew the het tubs would probably not be available but having the pools open was nice. The only downside was the tennis courts were not available due to construction.

Reviewer Comments: It would be beneficial to the DMBC, if the HOA would gather "open minded" property owners (both pet and non pet owners) to discuss and agree upon a viable/ realistic plan for pet owners. It would most likely enhance the property value for all property owners.I would be pleased to discuss my thoughts with any and all.

Can be better

Need to change cleaning company and renew linens. Linens are very old. Windows are very durty and dust inside room on cabins. I needed to clean everything myself.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The staff at Stubbs were very responsive and pleasant. We were very dissatisfied with the smell in the condo and the very old and dirty looking furniture. Significant improvements are needed in the quality of the furniture and eliminating the musty/mold/wet dog smell that lingered on my clothes after I got home.

Disappointed

Unfortunately this listing was not nearly as nice as portrayed in the photos. We came at a cooler time of year and it was very cold and damp inside. The washer was full of mold and the room smelled very musty and moldy. We actually had this booked for 3 full weeks due to my husbands new job. We spent our time freezing-no heat. I would not recommend this for any length of stay.

Tired and not clean

First off, upon arrival the place wasn’t secure, the porch slider was unlocked. anyone could have just walked in. I found an unused maxipad between the side of the chair and cushion in the living room. I don’t know when the last time the floors were cleaned, there sand all over the floors. The bed was uncomfortable and the rest of the furniture was tired and needs updating. Couldn’t lock the screen door because the locking mechanism was missing. There was an exposed electrical outlet in the kitchen. I could go on. Over priced and under whelmed. I would never stay at this place again.

Awful

Unit smelled. Kitchen cabinet contents not clean enough to use. The unit was listed as dog friendly yet it clearly is not. There is no place in the entire complex that a dog can go to the bathroom. The residents are hostile to dog owners and renters. I left after one night! Stubbs gave me a refund of approximately $800 for a nearly $3000 expense! I paid for 5 nights. They said they could t give me more because they had already paid the owners. I believe I should get more money back. It is the owner’s fault! I would never go here again nor rent from Stubbs!!! Can some one contact me?? Please help me get more back.

Solano Beach Stay

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is our second stay at Slow M’ocean. The new flooring is a nice upgrade. The musty smell was greatly reduced but not eliminated. We wish there was basic cable but bought an antenna and we’re able to get local news and network shows. We love the location, parking, proximity to the complex pool and to Del Mar Racetrack.

While new big screens were nice, the "LG streaming only" wi-fi connection would prohibit our renting the unit again -------no national network programming / no live sports / no nightly news. I would recommend this unit to a friend if the TV situation is not an issue.

Tried simply to watch the Today show and or the local NBC/CBS/ABC TV stations and could never access. Missed all March Madness games as could never identify how to get to what I thought should be a CBS station. Light under microwave is out, Light on table by sliding glass door out. New flooring was nice and comfortable

Avoid and rent another unit

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The only positives in regard to this unit is the location and the Dave Stubbs employees.. The unit is as close to the ocean as you can get and the pool is right outside of the back door. Many negatives outweigh the location. 1. I had to sleep on the hide-a-way sofa due to the poor quality of mattresses in the bedroom. In all honestly the mattresses maybe cost $25. They are horrible and need to be replaced. #2 Why would a 1 unit property have 2 full size mattresses, one king size bed would seem appropriate especially since there is a sleeper sofa. #3. There is way too much furniture in the unit which takes away from available room. I think they owners are using it as a storage unit. #4. I had to wash all the dishes, silverware, pots and pans as they were absolutely gross. #5 There is more but comments are limited to 2000 characters. This unit needs attention from the owners who seem to want income but not provide a good product. Do not waste your $$ on this unit until the owners take some responsibility to improve.

Great Beach Location.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Condo has a great view and a nice patio. It is next to the pool but there are very few people who walk by... we felt it was very private. The condo has a nice kitchen, washer/dryer along with two bathrooms and two double beds in the bedroom. Del Mar Beach Club has a private stairway to the beach which is a plus (expecially with Covid). As always Stubbs staff were friendly, supportive (had a few lightbulbs go out)and very responsive. You can walk to several restaurants, the shopping on Cedros, coffee shops and the CVS is close by as well. Solana Beach is a wonderful place. Stubbs always has quality properties that are clean and comfortable.
