Isla de San Juan, Mirador de la Orca # 112

Orca Overlook se encuentra encaramado en una ladera con vistas a algunas de las aguas más transitadas por Orca en el estrecho de Haro y el mar de Salish. Una nueva cubierta grande, rodeada de árboles, da la sensación de estar en una casa en el árbol. Después de ver la puesta de sol sobre la isla de Vancouver a lo lejos, muévase adentro de la acogedora sala de estar para transmitir Fire TV (sin recepción satelital). La casa cuenta con grandes ventanas que dan al mar, así que traiga sus binoculares.

El loft abierto, la sala de estar y la cocina son ideales para disfrutar juntos de sus vacaciones familiares. Hay dos habitaciones privadas, una con una cómoda cama de matrimonio y la otra con una cama de matrimonio. Una tercera habitación tiene un sofá cama queen extraíble. También hay dos baños completos (uno con ducha y otro con bañera) en el piso principal.

Los niños y la familia definitivamente disfrutarán del loft que está configurado para ser un área de juego, completo con una mesa redonda de cartas y un tablero de dardos. En la planta baja, la cocina bien equipada se completa con una barra de bar y taburetes para mantenerse en contacto con quien esté preparando la comida. Cerca hay una mesa de comedor para cenar en el interior. Si es un buen día soleado, puede optar por comer en la terraza donde hay asientos adicionales bajo una hermosa sombrilla verde, donde abundan los atardeceres nocturnos.

Un corto paseo por el camino de acceso conduce a una playa comunitaria compartida por cuatro casas en el área. Esta propiedad también está adyacente al parque West Side San Juan Island County, con su playa para lanzar kayaks y hacer un picnic.

The house was an amazing west-side San Juan getaway. We saw whales almost every day, along with otters and seals, and a bald eagle perched on the bird island every morning. Kitchen was ready for cooking and the washer and dryer made it easy to stay tidy. Highly recommend for a relaxing stay!

The kitchen was one of the most fully stocked I’ve ever seen. Even with some extra food supplies. The beds were comfy and the layout really worked for us. Loved the view and access to the beach!

September 2024 Vacation

We loved our stay. The views from the deck were spectacular and everything inside was just as described. We will keep this one on the list to return some day.

The property was beautifully located with stunning views. The kitchen and bathrooms were well equipped with everything we needed to make meals. Having included some of the basic necessities was very much appreciated. The open living area provided a wonderful gathering spot for family, and again with the views! Everything was clean and just lovely.

A sublime stay for a weekend getaway! The house had quality furniture and bedding, none of the falling apart IKEA leftovers that often populate these rental houses. Everything was clean. The view was worth a million bucks. The stove added a cozy feeling after a day explore the Island in the crisp spring air. Small fenced in yard out the front door was perfect for our dog to go to the bathroom, however not a yard to play in. I would bring more of my own supplies for the kitchen, It had all the tools you would need, but it lacked some basic essentials like morning drinks ie. tea and coffee. They had a Keurig but only had a couple decaf capsules and onetime use creamer in the fridge. Nothing that cannot be solved with a grocery store run. The host was reachable via text with prompt replies and follow ups. Even after we left I had to contact them about a potential lost item and the follow up was fast and concise. Overall would stay again! Thanks for a wonderful weekend!

Cooking with a view

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: A great spot to watch the lights of Victoria, passing ships and eagles. The kitchen was so well supplied that we cooked most meals with equipment similar to ours at home. And the home is clean! It felt good and we will return. Lovely spot.

No time for breakfast

The house was great but we hardly had time to enjoy. Late arrival on the ferry and 10 am check-out on Sunday morning. No time for breakfast. Another night would have been good but too expensive.

Unplug and LFW

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Beautiful house on the remote side of the island. Beautiful views of the sound. Although the house is listed as having internet, it is unusably slow (probably fine if you're checking email - but torture if you have to work). Only cell coverage is for Canadian providers. So if your goal is to "get away from it all" and Look For Whales, this is the house for you!

Internet is available on most of the island but just recently is it getting to the point where it is close to mainland speeds but then only in some circumstances/properties. We apologize that you had this experience. An incredible place to stay! The back deck was the highlight of our whole trip. The house is bigger than it seems in pictures (the kitchen is really, really nice!), and the whole property is more lovely than you can imagine!

Wonderful visit, wish we could have stayed longer! Our favorite experiences were exploring the nearby beach and enjoying meals together on the back deck with the incredible view. The pictures don't do it justice-- the house is light, modern, clean, and had everything we needed. We were able to cook dinners, make coffee, run a load of laundry, and get the teens on wifi. We were at first concerned that the campground at the public beach would be loud, but we didn't have any problems with that while there, everyone was very respectful. Tips for visitors: the filtered water on the fridge is great for drinking, there were plenty of towels and outlets, and the pullout couch is perfectly comfortable for sleeping. Wildlife sightings: fox, deer, bald eagle, seals and all sorts of cool intertidal creatures. We would love to come back!

Loved the location. Communication was efficient. The space was super clean. Just need a few kitchen towels! And more windows need screens—for better airflow. But the view, the state park next door, the ease of check-in/out…wonderful!

Cozy cottage with an amazing view

The house is super sweet, very cozy. Nice kitchen with all the amenities. Two bedrooms, double mattress size, comfortable though. An amazing view, right next to a park. Beautiful deck, ample board games and fireplace. We had a great experience!

Homey with a View

Incredibly homey with an unbeatable view. Absolutely loved our time there, mostly lived on the deck and even caught a few orca swimming by! Only complaint is checkin/checkout 10/4 instead of 11/3 but would highly recommend the house and can't wait to stay there again.

The View

It is a beautiful house on the west side. The view is spectacular. It was everything as advertised. You could hike down to the County Park or a little beach. We watched the seals from our deck. It is great for friends, couples, or families if you don’t have to worry about little ones out on the deck. We loved it.
