Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We were completely satisfied with this unit. It was very clean, with small touches like new kitchen clothes that we appreciated. And the barbecues were immaculate. The beach is perfect for swimming and just hanging out with the turtles that arrived each afternoon. Spectacular views from the lanai. Our only recommendation would be to add a drying rack for bathing suites.

I also like the second floor location, which mine is not.. This place needs a bit of replacement of cabinet handles and sink. The location of the microwave is cumbersome and not like other units but these are minor.

Reviewer Comments: Overall a 4 because the view of the ocean, sunsets, whales and turtles were fantastic. The Kuleana Resort is small two story complex that’s quiet and right on the ocean. Parking is extremely tight spaces are made for very small cars. Our unit #711 was clean and acceptable but extremely dated, stains on the walls, terrible pillow and bed and more expensive than other units that were updated. Didn’t have a need to interact with the staff very much but they were all friendly. I’d stay again in a different unit.

Unit a little tired and lacking kitchen essentials

Unit was ok but aged, not too clean. Kitchen lacking some basics: no spices, no coffee filters. Other units we stayed at in past years had basic spices, filters, more than a roll of paper towels. This unit seemed to nickel and dime on everything which is petty considering the price we paid. Bath tub barely drained and had a few inches of water after every shower. The location and the complex are exceptionally well maintained

Great views

This is our fourth time staying at Kuleana Resort. Each time it has been a different unit. We loved the views and the location on Maui. As others mentioned, the place is rather dated and could use refreshing...paint, new wallpaper, pictures in the kitchen/living room area are faded. The shower drain started to drain slowly so we told the person at the front desk. Maintenance came the same day and fixed it, so kudos to them. There's a small pot and a larger one but a quart size pot would be nice to have. There are coffee filters. The a/c works but is loud. The bed was firm and comforatable. We gave four stars (would probably give 4.5 if it possible) based on the condition of the unit. Overall we did like this unit but would prefer to stay at one of the upgraded units next time, unless we know that this one has been remodeled/refreshed.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Unit 711 is a nice condo with a great view of the ocean and turtles. It is located in an area that has similar condos for about a mile up and down the street. There really isn't a beach near it but the ocean is easily accessible. The appliances are old but work. The range has most of the lettering worn away but once you cleared every thing off it you can eventually find out out to work it. The bedroom is by the parking lot and road and has some noise. The air conditioner in the bedroom works but is noisy and covers any outside noise. The 600 unit would be quieter. The pool is big and heated. There are four BBQs which are very clean. We didn't use any off the beach or water gear.

We Love Kuleana but not this unit 711.

Reviewer Comments: The view from this unit is truly spectacular and I never tired of drinking my morning coffee or evening sundowners while soaking it all in. Had use of 2 very nice Tommy Bahama chairs for the beach. Unfortunately this unit is very tired looking and needs a makeover. The ceiling fans are newer looking and very effective. The shower looked pretty good and functioned well. The mattress was comfortable but the pillows need to be thrown out, very hard and old, doesn't work for me. I ended up buying myself a pillow and just left it in the unit. The artwork on the living room walls are very faded, not like the unit pictures but that just goes with the need to refresh. We had a fabulous experience but next time we will choose a different unit.

We only got one snorkel set and could have used another, but we made do. The condo itself is a bit old and is showing signs of wear and tear, but overall it was clean and cozy and the temp stayed very comfortable with the ocean breezes coming in off the lanai. Management was friendly and responsive. Would definitely stay again! Mahalo!

The unit is rather dated compared to others in the complex. Be aware the parking spot in the complex are small and they will put a warning sticker on your car if you park over a line. Other than that great stay and it was nice to be able snorkel with the turtles right off the complex.

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The experience was good in many ways - the condo is in a fantastic location with a great view of the surf. However, a few things were below expectation: the condo was not clean, particularly the floors, especially the lanai. This was previously communicated to you. A layer of sand on the lanai floor, table, etc. This was also the case inside but not as bad. In addition, the condo could really use a deep cleaning - there is dirt on the bedroom ceiling and walls. A one-time deep clean would really help going forward.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The kuleana itself is a beautiful property. Unit 711 is a decent unit but in need of upgrading, especially the bedroom. The AC in the bedroom smells of mildew and it needs a paint job. The road noise in the bedroom is annoying to say the least and that would preclude us from ever staying in building 7 again.

Happy Honeymoon

This rental was ideal for our honeymoon. We were looking for a place that felt like a home for the week, rather than a hotel room. It was nice to have the option to cook breakfast there before heading out for the day. This rental was comfortable and the view was amazing!

Great location , walking distance to town

What a great location, the ocean right outside of our lanai which was a great place to snorkel. Condo was very clean and equipped with everything you need. My only negative was that it needed some updating, it’s looking a little tired , however It did not affect our stay .

Private Lanai With Fantastic Views

The best part of this rental is the lanai and oceanfront views. We enjoyed snorkeling right out front with the sea turtles and many fish. Funny because we went to four other locations to snorkel and found that the very best was right in front of us! We also loved watching the whales every day from our lanai. We did sleep on the sofa sleeper because it was more quiet than back bedroom and we loved hearing the ocean. The kitchen was well supplied and fit our needs. If you're looking for perfection and the most updated unit, then you may be disappointed. The resort is well maintained. I would highly recommend this rental and would definitely stay here again!
