Perfect getaway again!

Lovely stay in Mike's place once again, and this time, it was a winter wonderland! Mike is a great host and communicator, and made things so easy for us in terms of check in/check out, and his house is the most beautiful cabin. If you want to get away from it all, but still be close to cute towns, this is your place.

Amazing Family Weekend Celebrating 50 Year Anniversary

Excellent Property! Cabin had all amenities and plenty of room for our family weekend. Enjoyed the up to date kitchen and blackstone grill as well as the comfortable rooms and outdoor patios. Would definitely come back to this property!

Beautiful quiet place in the woods

The property is as pretty as it looks. Beautiful wooden interior.... .very comfortable.....great for a family or a romantic getaway. Visited Harpers Ferry, Antietam, and had a great meal in Boonsboro and across the river in Shepardstown. Staying was easy-peasy too!

Cool cabin for a hot summer week

With average temps hovering in the upper 90's, this cabin was the perfect location to cool down after exploring nearby attractions such as Harper's Ferry, South Washington Monument, Shepherdstown, and so much more. The wooded surroundings and AC kept us cool during the hotest week of the year thus far! Cabin was so cooly designed with the outdoors in mind but with the comforts of home! This cabin is roomy and beautiful! We throughly enjoyed our stay! Host provided great recommendations and is responsive to any questions. We also fell in love with the people in town. Stone Werks Coffee & Sweets made us feel like locals. Boonsboro community is something special! Thank you for an enjoyable visit!

Absolutely Perfect

I grew up in Maryland and was looking for a location for my nieces, sister, and me to reconnect and enjoy the outdoors. One of my nieces was traveling from Australia and needed a quiet respite after her journey through Europe and India. She said the forest reminded her of where she grew up before she moved away. The area brought back many happy memories for her, and we made many more together. This cabin met all our needs, offering easy access to the Appalachian Trail, Harper's Ferry, and Catoctin Mountain State Forest. We had dinner at one of our favorite restaurants in Frederick. It's quiet, the beds are comfortable, and the kitchen is fully equipped. Having a bedroom on the top floor and two bedrooms on the lower level was a bonus. While there, I edited my book, and she was on conference calls at night during Australia time. Neither of us was disturbed by the other, making this an ideal choice for those who vacation while they work. We will be back!

Late summer stay.

The house is very nice and private. The kitchen is well equipped and we enjoyed the Blackstone grill. We stayed with 6 people and the two full baths were nice. The beds are comfy. The driveway is very steep but there are parking spots at the top that are flat. We were able to park 3 cars on the level. The owner was very responsive. We would stay here again. Your only 5-10 minutes from town. 😀

Birthday Celebration

This property is truly a hidden gem. It has everything you will need to enjoy your get away. Outside you have a fire pit, upper deck, lower deck as well as a covered back patio area all with seating, and the back patio has a Blackstone! A bathroom on every floor, large enough space that everyone will have their space. Great kitchen to work with as well as some extra essentials in case you forget anything!Michael.was available to answer any questions you might have and also left a list of local area attractions, restaurants, and shops. CLEAN!!! If you like the pictures, book this place it's worth the stay.

Spectacular Cain retreat

This was our second time staying at this beautiful cabin. My lifelong friends, and I are always thrilled with this Boonsboro hidden treasure. The owner is the best. He answers every question and is always willing and able to help with any and every request. He even came by and put air in my friends tires because they were running low the day before we left. His kindness was over and beyond anything we could have expected. This is our yearly retreat, and we look forward to coming back again.

Great family retreat

We had a great time nestled in the mountain on this property. It's private and beautiful. My family was able to comfortable sit and talk, play games, and socialize in both the living room and the dining area. It is winter, so we didn't have the outside options. But had the weather been nice, we could've done that in the outside spaces as well. Great stay! Thank you!

Winter Bliss

I just cannot say enough about Mountain Myst, and the owner, Michael.The pictures do not do it justice. I wanted an authentic cabin with all of the beauty of natural wood, but of course I needed updated bathrooms etc. .This representation exceeded all of my expectations. I traveled with my lifelong friends from elementary and high school. They were overwhelmed by the beauty. I have never had such an easy rapport with a property owner before this weekend. Michael answers every question immediately, and even chopped wood for us before the snow, and then plowed the drive. What a great guy. I will be booking this beautiful Mountain retreat again soon. Boonsboro is a beautiful and friendly destination. We have Big Love for this place❤️ I I lost my fiance 4 months ago so this respite was needed. My children would tell you that I am very hard to please. I go on 5 star vacations and find fault in most everything. If I give Mountain Myst a high rating You can trust it. Most grateful, Lisa Payne

Great Family Getaway

Great home / cabin in the woods. Very quiet location and close to town. We spent Thanksgiving here with our adult children (in their 20s). Excellent setup with big table for family meals and playing games. Great hiking out the back, in 10-15 min you are on the Appalachian trail. We took multiple family hikes. We would stay here again.

Beautiful Cabin

I rented this property to bring members of my family together for my dad’s 70th birthday. We greatly enjoyed the property and all the amenities. We went during the heat wave that the area was experiencing, so we took full advantage of the air conditioning. There are plenty of towels and pillows, and the cabin is incredibly beautiful on the inside. The roads were easy to travel and it is within driving distance of many great food locations, wineries and attractions. It was a great hit for the entire family!!!

Great setting that feels a million miles away from everything but is close to all the conveniences and attractions in the area. Started each morning on the front porch listening to the sounds of the woods. Enjoyed our stay.

Great Cabin in the woods!

This was our second stay at Mountain Myst. It is so close to Greenbrier state park, we love going to the park to swim. The AT is around the corner and amenities are close by. A great easy get away from the city for our families and the kids love the outdoors!

Sophisticates Adult Chalet

One of the nicest vacation rentals I have had the opportunity to visit. Styled with appropriate sophisticated rustic and quality decor and furnishings. Equipped with top of the line kitchen appliances and washer/dryer. The kitchen and bathrooms have granite counters. Bathrooms have very attractive walk in showers. This vacation Chalet itself is constructed of high quality materials. I would have to say that this rental is more appropriate for appreciative adults. A town is some what close by, if in need of resupplies. The owner is near by to answer any questions.

When we are not enjoying city life in our Nation's Capitol, we relax at our mountain retreat an hour away in Boonsboro, MD.
