OCEANVIEW Salvo - Fourth St. Encuentre algo más que SAFE HAVEN en esta cómoda casa de vacaciones ubicada en el sur de Salvo. Los huéspedes tienen cuatro habitaciones para elegir, comenzando con una habitación matrimonial principal en el primer nivel con TV / DVD de pantalla grande y baño privado con dos lavamanos, encimeras de granito cultivadas y un vestidor. Dos dormitorios más en este nivel (reina, litera de pirámide) comparten un baño al que se accede desde el pasillo. Salga por la puerta de la terraza posterior donde encontrará el jacuzzi burbujeante, ubicado en el lugar perfecto para mirar las estrellas. Off season stay

Beautiful home for 2 families to stay over winter break. Quiet area but close enough to various sites to interest the kids.

Nice beach house

First OBX trip

Pool was great. Unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate to get full use of the pool. We did not choose to have it heated. Hot tub was nice. Has a lot of steps so if you struggle with climbing a lot of stairs and carrying bags up was a little difficult. Having the two balconies to sit on was nice. Walk to the beach was not bad public access for walking was not too far. House had plenty of space. It was nicely decorated. Kitchen was well stocked with pots and pans some of the baking pans needed to be replaced due to age and wear.

Decent for the price

Nice house in good location. House wasn’t cleaned very well. Dirt under bed and dirty laundry in closets. Empty beer cans left under counter and no dusting done on tv stand in master.

Great property, but poor management and VRBO pricing not accurate

VRBO quote was off by $300! So cost a lot more than I had budgeted. Property is renting by surf and sound who has not updated the post in over 2 years. They require insurance (extra cost that was not shown on VRBO). Location is pet friendly and they charged for a pet even though I marked that no pet was coming. Fee was removed once I contacted them but it should never have been added to start with. Surf and sound was difficult to reach. Called 2 times to discuss the difference in pricing VRBO/their email, never received a call back. Called while at the property about the hot tub not working, they did fix the issue but never notified me. To add insult to charging more.... They email/text several times asking to add on rentals, linens, book for next year.... Super money oriented! Should have spent that energy in having their posting correct. That said the property was very nice. Plenty of space and privacy. The hot tub is now on the ground floor, not on the deck like shown. Within a short walk to the beach and close enough to several stores/museums. Over all it was a good trip, just not happy with the booking services

We don't have control over how VRBO processes charges, but do apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced. We are glad the hot tub was fixed quickly, which should indicate how responsive we are. We aren't sure why you were unable to get through, but have various channels available so guests can reach out for assistance on reservations. Our reservationists on standby every day from 8:30AM - 5:00PM, EST and they work diligently to respond to every call possible - we are unsure of why you were not able to get through, and apologize for that inconvenience as well. Great house, short little walk to the beach!

This house was really great for our stay. Nicely appointed, and the kitchen had most necessities. Kitchen/cookware could have been better, but was sufficient. Beds were comfie. Lots of storage space. Proximity to the beach was great. One complaint is that from the pictures, it looked like the hot tub was located on the first floor deck, but it ended up being on the ground floor area. Also, decks were great, but limited outdoor furniture. Bottom line, would def stay here again.

Great house! Excellent location to the beach. Dishwasher did not work, and did not get repaired, was the only downside.

Great location, newer home in Salvo: Safe Haven

Here are the pros of Safe Haven: newer home, easy access to the beach and Salvo Day-use area on Pamlico Sound, 4 comfortable bedrooms, large 3rd floor deck, outside shower, covered parking, large kitchen/dining area, well-appointed living room and pet-friendly. The cons of Safe Haven: while you think you are dealing with VRBO, you interact only with the property manager who, in actuality, is a realtor, Surf or Sound Realty. That includes signing a Surf or Sound lease (which I recommend that you read closely.) At the time of the writing of this review, there are clauses in the lease that are contradictory and relate to your VRBO booking. Here's one to watch for: "Tenant hereby acknowledges that they have not booked or inquired about any of Agent’s properties with the VRBO/HomeAway network of sites within the last 30 days. Should Agent become aware by VRBO/HomeAway or any other source that Tenant made a booking or an inquiry of any of Agent’s properties on the VRBO/HomeAway network of sites within 30 days of the Lease date, Tenant will be responsible for the 10% penalty…” I burned an extraordinary amount of time on emails and telephone calls to Surf or Sound to rectify the situation and have that stipulation removed from the lease. I would have walked away from this had I not made an initial deposit. My point here is to be careful and diligent. The only other negatives that I'd share, is that the house was not as clean as a would have expected (dust bunnies, clogged shower and sand) and there were no non-perishables (like spices including salt and pepper.) Neither of those I'd view as deal-breakers.

Nice home close to the beach

This is a nice spacious home about a 5 minute walk to the public beach access. We enjoyed drinking coffee in the morning on the balcony and admiring the sunrise. The house could have been cleaner on arrival. There was sand in the bathtubs, dog fur on the floors and windowsills. We Lysol’ed everything (countertops/doorknobs/surfaces) ourselves anyway on arrival to err on the safe side because of Covid. We came across three cockroaches in the master bath over the course of our stay. Overall though this was a great way to spend the week in OBX.

Safe Haven

We were generally pleased with the property. The showers weren’t as clean as they should have been when we got there and the grill didn’t work but otherwise it was all good. It’s a very nice house. We had an enjoyable time.
