La propiedad consta de una casa principal de 2 dormitorios y una casa de huéspedes independiente con una unidad de estudio de nivel inferior y superior ubicada en el jardín tropical cerrado para un total de 4 dormitorios y 4 baños. La sala de estar de la casa principal, las habitaciones y los estudios tienen aire acondicionado. La configuración es perfecta para 4 parejas o una familia de 8 con niños mayores de 12 años que pueden dormir en un piso diferente o en los estudios independientes independientemente de sus padres. La casa no está diseñada para niños pequeños.



La villa está ubicada en la comunidad residencial y de seguridad de la playa del sur de Akumal. La playa es perfecta para practicar snorkel y kayak de mar. Debido a la proximidad del arrecife de coral costero, la entrada a la playa puede ser un poco rocosa en algunos lugares, por lo que se recomiendan zapatos de agua.

We absolutely loved our vacation at Casa Chaca. Jaime, Guille, and Zaydi were all so helpful in making our stay comfortable. Even with the seaweed, we were able to snorkel and kayak. Jaime cooked for us a couple of nights as well. We will definitely go back!

Great home-- it's very clean and comfortable with a nice waterfront and lovely view. The pool is clean, the grounds well maintained, and the neighborhood quiet and feels safe. The staff were professional, attentive and friendly. Management is responsive to messages and requests. The meals cooked at home were delicious. You will need water shoes to enter the sea because entrance it's rocky. There was a power outage the last night, so it would have been good if there was a backup generator or flashlights. Mosquitos come into the home (when opening door screens to enter/ exit the house), so it would be good if staff could spray every evening if requested, or if mosquito nets were placed above beds. We would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful House! Clean, quiet and safe.

This was our first trip to Mexico with adult (college-aged) children. We were not sure what to expect even after doing our homework. This house was easy to find (we rented a car) and we felt very safe with a gate and security walking the neighborhood at night. Great central location to bounce around to many sites. We were greeted upon arrival with a friendly face who offered local guidance and advice. The cleaning crew was friendly and fantastic. I highly recommend this house if its your first trip and you’re unsure where to stay to feel safe and relax. We will stay here again fo sure. Thanks for a great vacation home!!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: First trip to a "non- all inclusive", and it certainly will be our last. From the second we booked- David the concierge attended to all our needs. The pictures do not do this location justice! The on site staff were amazing, and the view is incredible.The beach did require water shoes, but 10 feet from the waters edge is an incredible reef that we explored daily. Thank you so much for an incredible week.

Wonderful quiet vacation house!

We had a wonderful stay. The property is great! Everything you need is there, and if not, the staff will help you get whatever you need or desire. Management, maintenance and housekeeping staff are wonderful! Had the maintenance man (Jaime) and his wife cook for us two evenings. The food was wonderful! Had a company come in and do massages that were fantastic! Great vacation place!

The Views!

Instant blood pressure drop upon arrival. The views are incredible. It was sometimes hard to leave this house during our stay because it was so relaxing and beautiful. The manager and staff were so helpful and kind. I hope we can return again soon!

Lovely property away from the crowds

Quiet, private, relaxing. Six of us fit comfortably in this beautiful home. We enjoyed kayaking, snorkeling, walking down the beach, and hanging out with the house iguanas that visited every day. Two things missing: a gas grill and an actual full kitchen oven. The countertop “oven” is limited and the charcoal grill never worked. Also a guest half bathroom would be nice downstairs too. We loved having the option for a private chef (also the groundskeeper) to cook for us a couple times! Great family trip!

as good as advertised

I highly recommend this property for a relaxing stay. It is as lovely as the photos (if not more). Clean, quiet and safe (guard stand just outside the walls). The cleaning staff were so nice, and accommodating. They cooked for us a couple of times as well which was tasty, inexpensive and much appreciated after a day of travel (arrival day). The property is close to Tulum, the cenotes, the ruins, etc. Just can't say enough nice things about this place. *note- one reviewer prior to our stay suggested water shoes as the water off the beach is rocky. Great suggestion- we followed that and were glad we did.

Great Family Stay

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our rental was 6 nights. 8 people comfortably were accomodated. The casita was great as it is a separate house that our parents were able to stay in for additional privacy. Pool was perfect size for our 10 and 13 year old. Great snorkeling, nice kitchen and amenities. The only downside is there is not any restaurants in walking distance for older people. The younger people in our group walked to 2 beachside bar/casual dining but really you need to drive for a meal. The house was in a gated community and we felt very safe. We saw beach patrols regularly.

Unbelievable

Our stay at Casa Chaca was unbelievable. It was a family vacation (six people) and there was plenty of space. We never felt crowded. As mentioned by other posters, you will need a swim shoe, as this is not a "sandy beach". But because it's full of rocks and coral, the water is crystal clear. We spent the days lounging by the water, swimming and kayaking. On our last evening, we had dinner prepared for us and our only regret is that we didn't do it earlier in the vacation. Well worth the money! The staff is so warm and kind. I really cannot say enough about this place. This vacation was one we'll remember for the rest of our lives.

Company trip

We brought a group from our company. The house was comfortable and clean. The couple that came everyday to clean. Did an amazing job. Everyday the house was cleaned immaculately, the exterior was cleaned and organized. Even the sand was groomed everyday. The house manager was a huge help on things to do and places to go. The view from the house was breathtaking. Coffee on the balconies in the morning was perfect. I would stay here a thousand times and it would never get old. Akumal bay is beautiful. Snokeling right outside the house off the beach was the best. Lots of reef life, beatiful fish, and clear water. I cannot say enough about this place. The town of Akumal was cute. Go early in the morning ready for breakfast.

Amazing home in Akumal

Casa Chaca is a spectacular home on a quiet strip of of the Akumal Sur bay. The house is clean and welcoming with great big ocean views. The ambient temperature was perfect for us, but if it gets hot the air conditioning works quickly. The kitchen has all the tools you need to cook for yourself. You can pay Jamie to cook a dinner or three for you and you won't be disappointed. We rented a car for our entire stay and it was worth it. We drove almost everyday to go sightseeing or into to town for dinner. You can walk to Akumal bay, but it is a LONG rocky/watery journey. The water outside your door is filled with fish and the coral farther out is still lively and beautiful. We brought our own snorkels and it was great to explore everything. Bring water shoes as the first several feet or so is rocky but too shallow to swim over. If you go prepared to cook a little and drive sometimes, this quiet, palm tree shaded house at the end of the road is a magical place to escape the world.

Highlight of our vacation

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: When we got home from our family vacation I asked everyone what their favorite part of the trip was. I expected to hear "Mayan ruins" or "parasailing" or "restaurants" ... but nope. Unanimously, it was: "the house!" What a wonderful stay ... away from the crowds, safe and comfortable, with friendly and helpful staff. So entertaining with amazing fish snorkeling and fun kayaking right out the front door, and the kids splashing in the pool. We loved having a kitchen to make our own breakfasts (leisurely, inexpensive), and we wish we had hired Jaime for more than one dinner (delicious, relaxed) at the house. The wifi made it easy to plan our days, the separate bathrooms made it easy for everyone to be comfortable, the hammocks and various tables/seating made it easy for everyone to find a spot to eat/read/chill. And waking up to the sunrise over the ocean was just ... inspiringly joyful. Casa Chaca was the best part of our trip. :) THANK YOU!!!

Great neighborhood

We love this area and stay in this neighborhood when we come. Just always try other houses. The stay was great but we came for thanksgiving and planned to cook a lot and found out there is actually not an oven on the property that works. There is one in the lower casita that is non functional. The main home does not look like it ever had one. There is a grill, it it’s charcoal and there was no charcoal or fluid so we ran back to the store. It’s a timely process but we were able to pivot. The daily care taker helped each morning after he knew it was a problem for us. So, while there was nothing to cook with oven wise, the manager did make it so we could use the grill so I co sided that a great thing. Just a bit inconvenient. That’s all I would say to double check on before you book. See it the oven is working if you need it. The on site staff/care takers were very sweet and very accommodating for our daily cleaning. Also the managers said they will refund us for whatever food we bought for the oven, so we are tallying that and will update the review when complete. Overall 5 star stay and the company made every effort to make sure our needs were met. I’m also a Vrbo host myself so that’s very important to me! Thanks Akumal Direct!

Fantastic South Akumal house!

My family of 4 (kids 14 and 12) had a spectacular time visiting Casa Chaca in February of 2017. The house is located on the beach at the southern end of the South Akumal area. The bay is terrific for snorkeling and there are 4 1-person kayaks for use. It's not 100% sand, so water shoes make things easier. You can walk along the beach into Akumal, but it takes 30 minutes to do so. It's an easy 5-minute drive to the town, though. The house is terrific with a HUGE master suite, a comfortable second bedroom, and a very large detached "casita" with queen bed. The 14-year old had his own pad! All have AC but we didn't ever use it in Feb. The grounds are tended by Jaime, who is great. He and his wife also cooked dinner for us one night - we'd do at least one more night (2 out of 7) when visiting again. Elena looks after the house and she's also terrific. A truly 5-star experience! XelHa is only 5 miles to the south and worth a day. Lots of other great things to do in the area between Tulum and Playa del Carmen. This was our second trip to Akumal and we can't wait to visit again!

Luxury is in each detail

Upon booking our trip to the Yucatan Peninsula I had my heart set on Tulum, and thought I was settling when we booked our stay in Akumal. Boy was I wrong. We had the best time in Akumal and a huge part of the success of our vacation was because of our accommodations at Casa Chaca. The home has all the modern amenities to ensure comfort along with the cultural flair we were looking for. The house is located in a small neighborhood with 24 hour security so we always felt safe. The convenience of the location to Akumal Playa came in very handy for supermarket trips, tours, and dining. There was plenty of room in the house for our family of 5 to spread out. The kids had the casita to escape to if they wanted, and my husband and I were grateful for the privacy of the entire upper floor. We cooked several meals at the house and probably enjoyed that more than eating out. We love our privacy which is why we choose vacation homes over hotels, so I wasn't sure how I felt about having staff there every day. But Elena and Jaime were absolutely amazing. I was blown away by their attention to detail. I came to look forward to seeing Elena's smiling face every day. She assisted us with laundry when we needed it and was always very respectful. We spent a lot of time in the backyard soaking up those ocean views, kayaking, and snorkeling. Jaime always made sure the backyard was in tip top shape for us to enjoy. Our first night in the house we had the pleasure of Jaime cooking a Welcome Dinner for us. We didn’t know, but dinner meant they took care of set up, service, and clean up - wow! We felt so spoiled! We also have to give a shoutout to Marcia. Having someone nearby that spoke English was such a relief. After meeting her once we felt like we had made a friend that we could rely on for our stay. She gave us invaluable tips and advice that helped us overcome the Spring Break crowds. We had an incident where my son cut his toe at the beach. When we got home Marcia brought over antibiotics to help clean out his cut and the next day we found a first aid kit on our doorstep. These details and acts of thoughtfulness are what we will remember for years to come. Thank you for having us Casa Chaca! We already miss the beautiful sunrises on the terrace.

Wonderful location :)

Casa Chaca was incredible. It was in a gated neighborhood and there was beach security right next to the property. We would 100% stay here again. A few things to note for other travelers: 1. We were hesitant about needing daily cleaning. We originally told them not to come every day but changed our mind. Being on the beach, sand gets dragged in and dirties the house really fast. The staff is super friendly and does an amazing job. Keep the cleaning schedule :) 2. Akumal is a small, quiet town. If you plan on doing cooking, stop at a larger grocery store before you get to Akumal. There are a few mini supers, but the selections are small. The house is well stocked with cookware, but not oil/spices/etc. You'll want to get those at the market as well. ** There is an outdoor market in town almost daily. They have a large selection of produce at good prices. 3. Beach - bring water shoes. After you get past the initial rocks it is sandy, clear and gorgeous. But you will need the shoes to get past the breakers. Bring snorkel gear to check out the fish too! We were planning on walking into town a bit from the beach. However, there really isn't public beach access. The only way we found into town from the beach (and back to the beach from town) was past some old abandoned condos. Round trip was around 4 miles. There is a beach bar about half-way to town that you can walk to that has delicious drinks and food. Overall, we loved the small town vibe Akumal had to offer. We felt very safe and being right on the beach was an unforgettable experience. Highly recommend!
