It was a beautiful, quaint house. Comfortable accommodations, friendly hosts, and lovely yard for the dogs! I also felt safe in the area and house, which is a wonderful feeling in a new place. Would recommend to couples, solo females, and groups of female travelers!

Amazing stay!

This was a great place to stay: comfy, cozy, and so much to do around! We really enjoyed our time out there. Natalie and Sandy were amazing hosts and gave great recommendations!

The cabin was absolutely amazing. It felt like being at home. It was in a perfect location and it was super comfortable. I will be using this a lot when I come into Covington to fish. It was great.

The house was really lovely. Decorated nicely and well equipped with everything we needed. Would definitely stay again.

Great location, self contained getaway

We would definitely come back again, we felt very much at home. The kitchen was fully equipped, the open plan gave the feeling of spaciousness and we were greeted with fresh flowers and delicious sourdough bread from the nearby bakery. The absence of near neighbors was a blessing in this time of pandemic.

Great little cabin!

We were in the area to go fly-fishing on the Jackson River. This cabin was conveniently located and very clean and comfortable. The porch area was a little noisy due to the nearby highways, but it was still very pleasant to sit there and look at the stars in the evening - and when it was time to sleep, the bedroom was quiet. The fresh flowers and peanut butter cookies were a really nice touch.

Nice Little College

Cottage was very clean and tidy with everything I needed for my stay! Though there is road noise, don’t let it deter you from selecting this little house. I did not even notice the road noise at night. I will definitely stay here again!

Review of cottage

Overall we had a great time exploring that part of the Alleghenies and Sandra and Natalie were great in their suggestions for other possibilities that we did not know about. It was a very nice cottage to stay in and very centrally located to all the activities and places we wanted to visit. They treated us to a loaf of homemade bread and fresh flowers on the table. The property was beautiful.

Cozy

A cute little cabin in a good location for our needs. Many things to do all over the place from the cabin. There is road noise both from Interstate 64 and from Midland Trail on both sides of the property, but it wasn't bothersome. To sleep and in the evenings was the only time spent at the cabin, so much to see around the area. Overall, we had a very nice six night stay.

Lovely little house!

We had a wonderful stay in this sweet little house! Natalie is a perfect host and very helpful! We had everything we needed for our stay and we were pleasantly surprised at how well stocked the kitchen was! The fenced in yard was fabulous and our dogs loved being able to play and run while we enjoyed sitting on the porch. The fresh bread and flowers were a lovely surprise as well. I highly recommend this great little house and we hope to visit again soon!

Friends place

When you walk in there were fresh flowers, a loaf of locally baked bread and a note asking for you to call when you get in. Felt like you were walking into a friends cabin that you had borrowed. Very welcoming and peaceful. My partner and I throughly enjoyed our stay and will return again!

Convenient but Private Location

Natalie, the property manager met us at the cabin to welcome us and left fresh flowers and bread from a local bakery. The smelled so nice and fresh upon entering and the AC felt great. The king size bed was so comfortable!! The cabin is located between 64 and another road, so you can hear cars but the backyard is private with no neighbors in view. Thank you for a great stay.

Wonderful Getaway

My wife and I certainly enjoyed our long weekend at the cottage. The hostess was welcoming and easy to work with. We found the home to be clean and neat, and we were greeted with fresh flowers and rolls. The place is attractive and tastefully decorated. The kitchen has all the amenities one needs to make meals. The appliances are in good working order. The furnishings are in good condition and comfortable. All technology worked seamlessly. It was great to getaway and relax at the cottage. We hope to visit again.

Great little retreat in southern VA

Nice, cute cottage in the Alleghany County region. All the amenities we needed, plus great access to nearby hiking and kayaking spots. No neighbors, so it was easy to keep our distance... took great advantage of the grill on the porch deck as well! Lovely place for a long weekend stay from DC. The only thing I would be aware of is the proximity of I-64, which passes on the other side of the trees in the backyard. Didn't bother us (couldn't hear it much inside the house), but it is definitely noticeable from the porch... Still well worth a visit!
