Walk out your back door right to the beautiful Jackson River. One of the top trout fishing places in Virginia. Located close to The Greenbrier, The Homestead, Douthat State Park, and Lake Moomaw. Steps away from the Jackson River scenic trail, national forest, golf courses and kayaking from the back yard. This is a outdoor lovers paradise. Please bring your own toiletries (towels & shampoo etc.)

My family had a great getaway to this beautiful property. The property sits on a beautiful river that my kids spent endless hours playing in, fishing, floating and crawfishing. Bobby is a great and welcoming host and answered all questions even going above and beyond with a late check-in. We are already planning our next trip back. If you are looking for a place to unwind and reconnect with nature…this is it!

The property was just as described. It is located in a quiet, peaceful area with access to the Jackson River from the yard. The house was very clean and the beds are really comfortable.

Absolutely beautiful location on the river. Be prepared for a bumpy drive down a dirt and gravel road to get there but the view is worth it.House is clean and has all the basics. Bobby is very easy to communicate with and fully transparent about the property.

Weekend stay

Wonderful property, beautiful views, awesome river access for trout fishing with clear water. Very clean with comfortable king bed. Quiet area for a weekend getaway to the mountains.

It was a beautiful stay, the host was quick response and fixing the issue when our AC stop working, the hot water had a rotten egg smell but we just used the cold water. The river was easy to get into especially for a 4 year old to play in. Lots if adventures nearby to explore.We enjoyed our week long stay.

Great riverfront property!

Great jumping off point for our Jackson River and Lake Moomaw floats. Added bonus were the five kayaks and Canoe the house had for our use. Thanks again Bobby!

No WiFi , bad water, not all electric outlets worked,some quit working while we were there, not enough light bulbs to replace the bad ones, Could be a nice place with some attention. No WiFi meant no tv till day5 of a 7 day stay. I made our reservation several days ahead of time obviously not ready for our stay

I’m not sure what the pictures are for. That’s all they’re junk in the floor. These are the people you would never want to rent to. This guy did nothing but complain ever since he got thhe was well aware of the water and of the Wi-Fi situation my Electrician told me that the reason that the Bob blue was overloading the outlets with extension cords the guy was a pain in the rear end from the go. They just wanted something for nothing one star review for him. If I were, you don’t rent this guy.

Weekend Getaway

Absolutely love this river front property. Spacious yard to hangout and spend the evening by the fire close to the water. Lake moomaw and The Homestead very close to property. Definitely recommend this property for a great getaway, can’t wait to return!

Hidden Gem

Awesome Property out of the way. Love the Fire pit and picnic table right on the river. Love that road heading down to the property what a marvel of engineering. Plenty of room with lots of amenities.

Trout fishing

Beautiful secluded property! House/Cabin plenty of anemnities, sits on Jackson river. Plenty of property to fish,kayak,have a fire enjoy nature and spend time with family and friends.

Hidden Gem

We stayed here this past weekend to go spend the day at the Homestead. We will definitely be returning here in the summer to enjoy the river in the front yard and spend time fishing the river and Lake Moomaw. The owner has access to kayaks and a canoe to float the river. There is an awesome walking trail walking distance from this property. A great weekend deal with lots of amenities around!

Positives: Nice cabin in an awesome location. Having the river right there is really very nice. Negtives: The water in the house is very hard and the hot water smells awful, so much so that nobody wanted to run the tap or take a shower because it made the whole house smell like skunks. A water softener and an anode rod in the hot water tank (and lots of hydrogen peroxide) would be an enormous help. Also, the main bedroom with the king bed just off the kitchen has no curtains, so plan on waking up with the sunrise. The house layout is weird. You have to walk through this "bedroom" to access the wooden deck from inside the house. Deck looks into bedroom as there are no curtains as previously mentioned.Would have been nice to have a supply of wood near the fire pit. Just broken beer bottles in there when we arrived.Overall, not a bad place, but needs someTLC to bring it up to what you would expect for 300/night.

House was in great location very private while I was there. Falling spring falls, lake moomaw, doughthat state park and a trip to clifton forge made for a great weekend. The access to kayaks and canoe was nice we were able to paddle upstream a good distance. Water is crystal clear and refreshing. Big yard loved the concrete patio lots of wildlife. Refrigerator makes a noise when compressor cuts off that is a bit startling in middle of night im light sleeper... and hot water smells. Cold water is fine. Should invest in instant hot water heater and smell will be gone New carpet and kitchen floor. Could use a new couch sits kinda low. New TV was nice late at night for wind down time
