Bienvenido a nuestra casa recién remodelada junto a un lago natural. Esta casa está ubicada en una deseable comunidad del sur de Venecia, a pocos kilómetros de varias playas hermosas como Venecia, Manasota y Sharky's. La histórica avenida de Venecia, con tiendas exclusivas, restaurantes excepcionales, eventos especiales, el mercado de agricultores, canchas de tenis y la Fuente de los Niños, así como The Legacy Trail desde Sarasota a Venecia están cerca. Este sendero es un viaje atractivo que lo lleva de regreso a la vieja Florida, como ingresar a una distorsión del tiempo en Florida como lo fue antes. Relaxing with a View

We will definitely try to stay here whenever we plan a trip to Venice Beach. Location was perfect for all things we love about the area. The lake behind the house afforded us with a variety of birds to enjoy and a cool breeze when sitting out back.

Peaceful Nature filled Vacation Setting

Situated in a quiet neighborhood on a small spring fed lake, lots of nature watching right in your own backyard! While the small deck overlooking the pond is in need of replacement from recent storm damage, it still provides a vantage point to view the large groups of turtles and fish there. Caution, there are a few alligators in the lake that can be seen cruising around as is typical in Florida. Plenty of Ibis, herons and other birds visit the surrounding yards and are not shy. Relaxing to watch the nature show and the beautiful lake view from the sunroom or the back patio! The house was well stocked typical of a vacation rental, the owner was friendly and responsive, and no major problems occurred during our month long stay. No garage access is available, but ample parking on the double width driveway. Filtered water in kitchen for cooking/drinking, well water in the other areas but was not a problem. Neighborhood is quiet and nice for walking and biking. Pet friendly, but just be aware of the wildlife. Would love to stay here again.

Perfect home for us

We were in town for a family birthday party. It was centrally located to all the family that lives in the area. Many great restaurants for a group of six. Love having morning coffee in the sunroom and watching the wildlife.

Great location

We have family in the area and this house was a perfect location to all of them. It had everything that we need. We loved drinking our morning coffee, in the sunroom, watching all the wildlife in the backyard.

True Florida natives day

The home was older and could use a good cleaning but was comfortable and had everything we needed. We had one slight plumbing issue but did have a quick response from the property manager. All in all this is a true Florida experience. There were alligators, and all kinds of wildlife. The neighborhood was quiet and we enjoyed sitting outside and soaking in the environment.

Wonderful!

We enjoyed our stay quite a bit! All of the amenities you could imagine were provided. Jan's home was clean and was exactly as pictured on VRBO. Communication was terrific and easy; he responded immediately with an issue we had and resolved it quickly. We couldn't have asked for anything better! Thank you for a great stay! We will definitely return.

Shasta dr vacation

House was clean, check in and out were easy. House was stocked with all the essentials needed. There were beach chairs and towels. The pond has turtles and a small alligator. Lots of birds to watch. Bed was very comfortable. The neighborhood was quiet always felt safe going out at night. Home is centrally located, easy access to beach, shopping and highway. Air conditioner worked great. No complaints we are booked for another stay in a few months.

Very nice trip!

This house was just as others had described. We enjoyed our week. Lake was fun but beware of the gators. They aren’t afraid. The neighbors feed the turtles which in turn pulls in the gators. We love watching them all. We would definitely rent again.

Our Stay in Shasta Street Property

This stay was our fifth month-long stay on the Florida Gulf coast, and our fourth stay in the Sarasota-Venice area.. Overall our stay in this property was similar to our previous stays. The house was a typical three bedroom, two bath, ranch built sometime in the 60s or 70s. It was reasonably well maintained, decorated and equipped. The house is located in the middle of a large residential development so there was very little through traffic on our street, which would be good for families with young children. We appreciated the light traffic because we had our dog with us and had to walk her on the roads because there are generally no sidewalks. We always felt comfortable walking the dog. US-41 is not very far from the house and fairly straightforward to get to. Accessing other major roads required some wandering through the neighborhood. We did find ants in the kitchen when we first arrived, but we contacted our host about the problem and he took care of it immediately. We required instruction from our host to operate the TV. We would have appreciated a second TV in the property. My wife and I do not always want to watch the same program so having just one TV was an inconvenience. The thermostat on the hot water heater appeared to be set lower than ours at home, so while we did not have to take cold showers they were never quite as hot as we like. It also seemed to take a long time for the hot water to actually show up. During this stay my wife discovered the Venice YMCA and joined for the month. She went to the Y most mornings. We also took advantage of the Venice dog beach and dog parks.

Family vacation

We LOVED the place! Good deal for the price, loved the quiet neighborhood, and especially loved the pond & wildlife. Figuring out channels available on the tv wasn't the easiest since we are from another state. And this wasn't a big issue, since we only had the tv on in the latter part of the evening. Figuring out what switches turned on which lights could have been made easier with a few labels. Again, not a big deal, we figured it out. Prompt response when I texted with a question.

Peaceful, relaxing, clean

This is a really nice place. Quiet, peaceful. Very clean. Great view of the pond from back lanai. Spent lots of time watching the fish and turtles in the pond. Nice neighborhood. Good place to stay if you want to visit downtown or beaches and then come back and relax.

Great vacation home

The property was just as depicted on VRBO and we were very pleased to have stayed here. The large open spaces in the home were spotless and the view of the lake out back was a real treat. Nice location to travel from and easy to everything. Jan was both very attentive to our needs and a great respecter of our privacy. What a nice guy. We always try to leave a place in better shape and cleaner than we find it but this one was a challenge. Super clean and neat. We would book this again for sure. Many thanks Jan for making our stay easy. John and Valerie
