Our Kona Getaway at Kahalu'u Beach

We are a ground floor, 2 bed, 2 bath condo, with ocean and bay views, in the three story Kahalu'u Reef building, and part of the Kona Seaspray property. Our unit is a perfect place to base your stay in the Kona area, with easy access to one of the best snorkeling and surfing spots on The Big Island. Our pool area has unobstructed views of the ocean, and is a sweet spot to hang out and enjoy your morning cup of Kona Coffee, and to grill some fresh local fish after watching a famous Kona sunset. We are located along Alii Dr, so there is some road noise in the neighborhood all around Kahaluu Bay and Beach Park. Our condo sleeps 5 comfortably, but will accommodate up to 6, but it's a tight squeeze if they are all adult sized humans.

Great Place to Stay

What can I say, the place was great! Everything we needed was there. Perfect location to do almost anything. Most times I had the pool to myself. Paul and Bob were very helpful anytime I needed a question answered. Would love visit again. Mahalo!!

Across the best snorkeling beach in Big Island!

This is a great value considering the price, location and amenities! We were a family of 6 so it was a little cramped but we were out most of the time and it was easy to cook since there were lots of non-perishable condiments already there that we didn't have to purchase! Good restaurants and supermarket very close by but most of all the Best snorkeling beach right across the street! The manager and the owner were always available and very helpful with anything we needed!

Awsome location. Place is as is in pictures ,everything was clean and well kept paul reached out multiple times asking if we were happy with everything offering suggestions . Overall very happy with our stay at pauls place. Would definitely recommend.

ANOTHER GREAT STAY AT KONA SEA SPRAY. ALWAYS FUN AROUND THE POOL AND BBQ. KIDS LOVED THE SHAVED ICE ACROSS THE STREET AT THE SNORKELING BEACH.

Had a wonderful 10 days at Kahaluu Reef condo. The beach is right across the road. Perfect for snorkelling and surfing or just relaxing. Also a short walk to Magic Sands if you want to try out the boogie boards. The pool area is wonderful after a long day to relax and barbecue. Also the Kona area has the best weather so a great place to stay. Thanks Bob for the hospitality and Paul for making it so easy to book.

Our vacation was very relaxing.

Great place to walk across the street and watch the sunset. There are many places to go and have fun within a five to thirty minutes drive. All the furniture and beds were very comfy. The manager is very friendly and helpful. The property looks better than the photos I saw last year. The owner is very helpful and honest. I will definitely recommend this property to a relative or a friend. My family and I had a great time.

Nice place 10min drive from main strip

My father and I stayed here for 3 nights. The photo's are accurate and there is a decent snorkeling beach just down from the property. It is a lower unit of a small 3storey building, the manager is knowledgeable and very nice. Property was clean and had beach gear which is always great. I would recommend this place for someone wanting to stay out of the way but if you were planning on spending most of your time downtown you will have to drive to Kona as it is quite far. Beautiful spot though!

Fun with the family!

I took my family for 10 days and this little condo had it all. The kitchen had everything we need to cook our meals, the pool was super fun, the view from the lani was amazing. This place was also perfect for my family and it was across from the best snorkeling experience we had. It was so awesome to just walk over to snorkel. It was also nice to have Bob onsite. He manages the property and is super accommodating and Paul the owner was just as helpful even from the mainland. We had so much fun and we cannot wait to come back. Mahalo Paul and Bob! A little piece of my heart is there on the Big Island!

Great Hawaii Vacation

Aloha! We had a great time in Kona. The Condo was very clean and comfortable. It was in a great location. We didn't spend much time in the condo during the day as we were out trying to get in as much sightseeing as possible. We cooked most nights at the condo and had everything we needed. It was a ground unit so in and out was very easy. The parking is right outside the unit so loading and unloading the car was very easy. We will definitely consider this condo if we ever go back to the Big Island.

Aloha Style

This is a great stay while in kona...close to shops and food yet not in the hub of traffic..the property is clean and well maintained and well provided in the kitchen and bathrooms, including beach towels and chairs..although there is a nice pool, a great snorkel beach is directly across the street..wow...don't miss the great sunsets from poolside.. the owner is prompt to answer questions or concerns and very personable...there are tooo many activities and attractions to mention, of course hiking into a crater and swimming with dolphins were the highlight for us...definitely would recommend to friends and family. I have to say the description on the web was right on....can't forget the on site manager who was accommodating and a wealth of information....mahalo to the owner and manager.

Kahalu'u Reef

Aloha! We had a wonderful time in Kona............the condo was very clean and comfortable.......we loved being so close to Kahalu'u Reef........snorkeled every day. The shower was fine.............the courtyard entrance was under going refurbishing? or re-modeling............so was kinda cluttered (dead stove & refrig outside our door) paint cans, tarps, etc The pool area was great, We are already planning our next trip. It was a pleasure dealing with you.

one week not long enough

stayed here for a week with my family (6) it was perfect offered everything we needed. Use of boogie boards chairs and coolers for the beach was super helpful! Kitchen gave us what we needed for each meal. Beds were great as both my husband and I have back issues and debated taking our own pillows. Never had a problem!! Clean pleasant and ideally located, not too close to the business of Kona but close enough to pop over(5 minute drive)awesome sunsets from Kahalu'u beach right across the street. One week is really not enough time! =D would recommend

Well appointed unit

I was pleasantly surprised with how nice the unit is. The photos don't do it justice. On the down side, there was a lack of hot water. Also, the information provided for the property calls it the Kahaluu Reef, but the sign on the road says Seaspray Reef. We had a hard time finding it at night because the sign on the building that says Kahaluu Reef is not visible from the road at night.

Thank you for the nice comment on the condo. Apparently while you guys were there, Kona had some untypical cloudy weather, which affected the solar water heaters ability to heat the water properly. We've since had a technician out to service the thermostats and they are functioning as they should. As to finding our building, I've tried my best to describe our location with the address,description and photos. I'm sorry to hear of your difficulty in finding it at night and will try to post some photos from the other side of the road so that others may be able to identify it a bit easier. Again, thanks for staying with us and you are welcome back anytime.

Great location

Overall I was very happy with my stay at the Condo, The Property manager Bob was great and helpful. Ask him about the local things to do and you can't go wrong.The location was quiet even with Alii'i drive right outside the door. Sunsets from the Lanai were pretty awesome. I'd take my morning cup of coffee across the street and sit by the Church and enjoy the morning surf. The condo has all the basics. I didn't give it an excellent rating due to the water pressure wasn't enough to get the water to run the Shower in the guest bath. So we had to share the Shower in the Master bath. Paid for a 2 bed/2bath and got a 1.5 bath instead. Still overall was a great stay.

Great Stay

We hastely planned our vacation to Kona. This condo was perfect. Even though we overloaded it with 6 people, including 2 children, there was plenty of room. It was close to some fabulous snorkeling and magic sands beach. The unit does have a limited selection of snorkeling equipment, towels and beach mats. It's a ground floor unit so in and out was easy. We didn't spend the day in the condo so a view wasn't that important. The pool area has a great view of the beach and ocean if that is what you require. The parking is right outside so unloading and loading the car was a breeze. Property manager was very accomodating. The pool and common area was a plus benefit. I think we grilled most nights and dined outside observing the sunsets. The Costco and Walmart are a fair distance, but the solitude of this condo away from the touristy part of Kona was a bonus. We look forward to our next trip the The Big Island and would definitley consider this condo.

Kona Stay

Our stay in Pauls rental was exceptional. We truly had a wonderful time. I brought my family of four including a teenager and a 2 year old. The location was fantastic. It is located across the street from the beach were the snorkeling was great. We saw turtles, fish and some scattered coral. The cleaning staff around the units were great too. Everyone seemed to be willing to give us insight to the things we wanted to do and suggestions of places to go were great. Bob was fantastic too. He really made the stay comfortable and we felt very welcome. The place is located on a "busy" street but it never bothered us at all. The only concern we had when we first showed up was the AC. We had not paid for the convenience. It turned out to not be needed. Once the sun goes down and the fans are on the house is quite comfortable. I would highly recommend this place to anyone traveling to Kona.

Great location, but on first floor next to parking lot and busy street

This property is satisfactorily equipped and very comfortable for a few week stay. The major problem is that it is on the ground floor and the balcony overlooks the parking lot. As a result, you are exceptionally close to Ali'i road which is a major thoroughfare for surfers and their vehicles, and even some commercial vehicles. When booking the unit, I would have appreciated knowing about the ground floor location next to a busy street. The saving grace? The bedrooms are in the back of the unit and therefore away from the noise. In addition, this owner is very receptive and will respond to you as quickly as possible.

Great location, clean, everything needed supplied

Lovely place, really enjoyed staying there, very clean and well maintained. All amenities as needed. Great location, very near to the main street with restaurants and shops. Nice to have balcony to watch from. Walking distance to local beach was great, and very good for snorkelling. Easy to park car. Swimming pool looked great, but never got to use it as so many beaches to choose from and lots of boat trips. Would stay there again.

Pleasant condo near Kahaluu beach

We greatly enjoyed our stay at this condo, which is in the Reef Building of Kona Seaspray, on Ali'i Drive. This is south of Kona proper, but it was a perfect location for us, because of the terrific access to the snorkeling at Kahaluu. The building is just north of the beach and across the street, right across from St. Peter's Catholic Church. I had been concerned that it would be tough to cross the street with our two kids (4 and 6), but the traffic (while constant) was never heavy enough to be a problem even without any traffic lights. The condo itself was very clean and pleasant. There is an additional charge for air conditioning, but there are ceiling fans in every room and we found that kept things very comfortable. Bob, the property manager, is on site and was very friendly and helpful. In general, a lovely place to stay!
