Ideal location

This area has many fantastic restaurants, parks, beaches that are close by and walkable. It also provides easy access, without a lot of back ups, to those areas to which you need to drive. Over all fantastic stay!

We've always loved staying at the Island Surf. Heated pool Proximity to shopping Volleyball, roller skating and beach! Also if the owners have a lock out screen door you'll never have to use the A/C.

Great place ! appropriately priced

The description was accurate , good location in Kihei. The bottom floor was under major construction which would of been nice to know as it was very noisy during the day . overall very clean with the exception of the floors, while you couldn't see dirt they have not been mopped, Your feet were visibly dirty walking from the shower to the bedroom. Having a washer/dryer in the unit was awesome. Overall a great place and appropriately priced.

Comfy bed, great location

This is our second time staying in this unit in Kihei. You can’t beat the location, the bed is comfy (if you like soft beds) and the unit is spacious with plenty of storage. Easy check in and communication with property management. Unit is a bit run down since our last stay and could benefit from a few “touch ups”. But still a great place to relax and enjoy Maui!

Good location

The pictures provided were a pretty close representation of this unit. It could have been cleaner though. My stay was for 2 weeks unfortunately there was a water main repair in the front parking lot. Two days of my stay the water was turned off during business hours. The construction project was very loud during the day and lasted at least 5 of the days I was there. The night time street noise in this location is extremely loud. The only reason I would recommend this unit is because of its location. There are many wonderful places near by within walking distance.

Amazing location and view for the money

We have stayed at the location before at another condo and loved how close we were to everything. The location is amazing and we love waking up to a view of the ocean. This condo unit was okay, we loved the last one we stayed in a lot more. We noticed that the bathroom mirror was really dirty and the manager did drop off Windex the next day for us. I ended up having to clean it daily because it is old and gets a film over it after every shower. The shower smelled like mildew and you can see the build up on the shower doors. The last VRBO we have stayed at always have a kitchen with spices and basics this one only had salt and pepper. They also only inlucded two beach towels so I had to do laundry a lot. You get what you pay for though and are traveling on a budget this one is not bad.

Solid value but there are tradeoffs

My wife and I have been traveling to Maui for the last decade. We have stayed all over the Island but fell in love with Kihei on our previous trip in 2022. So when we found this listing, we were stoked. It was considerably (40% less) more affordable in 2024 than the place we stayed last time, and the location was very similar to Island Surf. So, going into our stay here, we were pumped. After our stay, here is our honest assessment: This unit is in a great location. You can walk/bike to a ton of great things. The tradeoff is that it is across the street from a (beautiful) park with quite a few (15-20) vagabonds. The vagabonds are pleasant and not harmful, but they sometimes ruin the vibe of seeing a guy sleeping on the bench in front of the building. The park also gets loud early in the morning when maintenance workers are cleaning. The unit has a great oceanfront view, and the tradeoff is that it faces not only the sea but also S. Kihei Rd, which is busy until very late. So you may give up some sleep for the view. The apartment itself is spotless, well-maintained, and clean. However, some of the fixtures and appliances are dated. The grill was not working, and the pool was clean, but the grounds were disrepair. The check-in process is excellent, and the management company is helpful. Overall, this is a good value for what you pay. If you are looking for something in a great location, with a view and for a great price you should stay here, just don't expect more.

There’s so many things that were wrong with this place. It looks nothing like the VRBO pictures. Check-in was supposed to be at four the cleaning lady was still there at 5 PM saying that the other cleaning lady did a horrible job. The place is falling apart, it’s outdated. bedroom fan is full of black dust. AC held together on a piece of plywood, remodel is a joke. We had to get new towels because many towels and sheets were stained. The paint in the bathroom is bubbling. The building itself is dirty and old. Sometimes hard to get through to staff although Jeff, from customer relations was accommodating and understanding about our views. And we did receive some refund but very small. I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone. It’s more for spring break kids in their late teens early 20s. Many more issues but too many to write down. I’ve never written a negative review before and for me to do this, that means it was not good. Just be aware that you’re not gonna get this remodeled place that it looks like on VRBO. The owners take no pride in it. Extremely disappointing.

The real deal Maui experience

Spent the first 5 days of our trip in Lahaina for a conference and were all ready for a break from the bustle of the resorts. Coming down to Kihei and staying at this condo was such a welcome break from the more touristy areas of the island. Great walking across the street to surf a bit in the mornings -- seems to be a good spot for beginners though we were told the surf was uncharacteristically low while we were there and we had the water mostly to ourselves. Surf culture dictates that locals get the first and best waves, so we were careful to honor that wherever we surfed. A short walk to a sand beach for the kiddos who wanted to boogie board. The management was great about communicating a few minor issues (a broken lamp and missing key from the previous renter -- both of which were replaced within 24 hours of our arrival -- and one of the sliding glass doors was a bit sticky. Nothing we couldn't deal with). The condo itself was tidy and well maintained, despite the exterior of the building looking a bit weathered. The pullout sofa mattress was SO COMFY! What a surprise! Our only complaint was that the traffic noise was significant -- sounded like some street racing in the wee hours -- so if you're a light sleeper, bring some earplugs. All in all, we absolutely loved this little spot and my whole family felt comfortably at "home".

Wonderful stay!

Beautiful unit with amazing ocean views! Kamala Park is directly across the street and we watched the sunset from the park or from the balcony. We walked to local shops and restaurants. Shaved ice was a favorite. The unit is clean and the management team was responsive to our questions. There is street noise which didn’t bother us. We would stay again!

Wonderful Stay in Kihei

This condo was wonderful. My partner and I stayed in this unit for just over two weeks while visiting Maui for our wedding. We had family staying in Island Surf as well and our unit ended up acting as a meeting place for dinners and on rainy days. It is very spacious and comfortable, has great views and felt like home. It's in a perfect location in Kihei. Would 100% stay here again and recommend to others

Wonderful Stay

We had an amazing time staying in this condo. It was an older building but the condo was renovated beautifully and we were so comfortable. Amazing ocean views - we will definitely be back and stay here again.

Conveniently located, comfortable bed free parking, and well stocked with kitchen and bathroom essentials. Cold ACs in bedroom and living room. Communication was easy and check in and out instructions clear. Would definitely recommend.

Great Location

This being our first trip to Maui we were happy to be in such a great location near the Triangle. Great restaurants, coffee shops, shopping and right across from the beach. The place was very comfortable and had everything we needed.

Location is Excellent!

Overall stay was wonderful. Location was superb, Kihei is ideal, kind of in the middle of everything. Some of the drawers (bathroom) needed a little more cleaning, wiped them down myself but not a major thing and the Sunsets were beautiful! All accommodations were 10/10.
