All Season Loon Cabin en Lake Colby en Saranac Lake

Esta cabaña está a pasos de nuestra playa privada en el lago Colby y tiene su propio pozo de fuego afuera. Los inquilinos pueden usar cualquiera de nuestros seis barcos para participar en la pesca o simplemente disfrutar del hermoso lago. Lake Colby es parte de la gran comunidad de Saranac Lake que ofrece muchas atracciones turísticas, como senderismo, esquí sobre nieve, tirolesas, golf y comida increíble. Esta cabaña también está a dos minutos a pie de la playa pública y del lanzamiento del barco.

El pueblo de Saranac Lake cuenta con maravillosos restaurantes, pubs y cafeterías. Colby Cabins está a dos minutos en coche del monte. Pisgah, donde toda la familia puede disfrutar de esquí alpino, tubos y snowboard. El lago Saranac está rodeado por algunas de las rutas de senderismo más pintorescas de la costa este. El lago Colby es conocido por su excelente pesca de: trucha arcoiris y marrón, salmón, bocazas y lubinas. Se pueden usar motores de 10 hp como máximo en este lago. Los huéspedes pueden usar cualquiera de nuestros siete barcos: 2 botes de remos, 2 kayaks de tamaño completo, 2 canoas y un kayak para niños (el check-in o el check-out del 6 / 27-8 / 30 puede ser cualquier día excepto el sábado).

The cabin was cozy and had a nice view of the lake. We also think it was pet friendly although we did not have our pet. We would definitely come back again sometime.

Cozy

Very cozy cabin. Bathroom perhaps a bit TOO cozy. Which means it was lovely, but very small. Many stubbed toes on the shower lip, but I concede that not much could be done about that. There were a few cobwebs in the rafters, some sawdust on the top of the bathroom mirror, but overall lovely.

Wonderful Winter Getaway

This was our second stay at the cabin for the holiday season and it was perfect! Cozy cabin to spend the holidays in. Huda was very attentive and responsive as a host. We loved it and would come back once again!

Great Cabin Getaway!

First of all, the hosts (The Scheideman's) were absolutely the best ever. They made sure we were happy, and everything was just right to make our stay just what we expected. Second, the cabin was absolutely gorgeous and right on the water as advertised. Lastly, the location is just perfect. We were isolated and in a quiet Adirondack community but just minutes away from Saranac Lake amenities! We will definitely visit again...and again!

"Tranquil Getaway"

Talk about cozy, this cabin is the epitome of the term. Quaint Adirondack appropriations throughout out the space. The window view is always mesmerizing & the wood stove take the chill out in minutes. The water closet is unique. The shower is just the right size & the stone tile accents look like a river bed & the overhead showerhead configuration give you the rain on me effect, any smaller and it would be tight. Watch the corner of the base of the shower, that's tight. Communications were flawless, minutes to town and steps away from the lake. Great fishing ! We'll be sure to come back.

Amazing property but musty smell

We absolutely loved the view and proximity to Saranac and Lake Placid, as well as the coziness of the cabin. However, immediately upon arriving we noticed a strong musty smell throughout the whole cabin. I believe it was due to the carpets, as they seemed to be a tiny bit damp, but we were not sure. We lit a candle and tried to ignore the smell. We were out most of the day too so it wasn’t a huge issue, but it was extremely noticeable as soon as we returned. Plus, every single piece of clothing we brought, worn or not, smelt like the musty smell once we got home. Again, we had an amazing time and the property was beautiful, but the damp musty smell was strong.

Cozy Cabin on the Lake

The cabin is cozy and well furnished with ADK style furnishings. The kitchen has all necessary supplies to prepare meals, including sink, stove, and full size refrigerator, and some extras like spices, cleaners, sponge, towels, etc. The hosts also left wood for the fire pit. There were enough and good quality towels in the bathroom. The shower is undersized but serviceable. The location is superb on the lake and very near the new ADK Bike Trail for those so interested. The owners were excellent at communication. Our only complaint is the bed. It is too soft, and we both sank to the middle making for difficulty in sleeping.

The property was overall nice. we did however smell a foul odor in the bathroom possible sewer gas. The ceramic tile at the base of the shower next to the toilet had a sharp corner we both cut our feet. The view was great the location was fantastic.

Lovely cabin on the lake

We enjoyed staying in this small but perfect size cabin for my husband and teen son. Our friends stayed in the cabin next door with their family. The location was close to the main street, which is a quaint Adirondack town with nice restaurants. It's 20 minutes north of Lake Placid and 10 minutes from all kinds of winter activities. We will definitely definitely be back.

Amazing Christmas Getaway!

Huda and Ethan were excellent hosts! They went above and beyond to make our Christmas stay special (which included a small Christmas tree). Would definitely stay here again! The area was remote yet still had a small town with grocery stores, restaurants, etc.

nice place

nice place with good adirondack cabin character. Enjoyed the rowboat and sweet old town canoe on the lake as well as nice fire in lakefront fire pit.

One of my favorite vacations!

I can't say enough about how great our vacation at Lake Colby/Saranac Lake was for our family. The cabin was clean, cozy, the perfect size for a family of 4 and 1 dog, and right on the water. Even though there are cabins next to us, it felt like we were tucked in our nice little corner and private. The kids loved the little private "beach" we had, the firepit area with adirondack chairs was perfect to watch the sunset & have smores and read a book, the little yard in front of the lake was great for the kids to run around. The house was stocked with games as well which we enjoyed by the lake, and the canoe's and boats were in great condition and we took them out to fish every morning! Loved the view, the owners were super responsive & nice, and the house is exactly (even better!) as pictured. In regards to the other reviews about the traffic, the cabin is actually on a road through the woods, and you aren't next to the street at all. I couldn't hear the cars from our particular cabin and thought it was very peaceful. No complaints here!

So Perfect

This cabin and property is a little slice of heaven. The owner was SO wonderful- I didn't need much of anything, but if I did, they were 100% responsive. The location was perfect- private and amazing lake front view, however, close enough to walk to town (<1mi.). The interior decor was delightful- could tell it's been redone recently and so well themed to a cabin. Really nice little touches like extra towels, linens, well stocked kitchen, firewood, pictures, pillows, etc. Only sad thing was having to leave. Will be back again.

Very Noisy; Close to Main Road!

The cabin was clean and supplied with essentials. However, the main issue for us was main highway so close. It was extremely noisy. Constant traffic with logging trucks and other vehicles starting at 5 am going all day. There is also a public beach very close and so lots of noise there as well. Close neighbors, even though there are cedar trees dividing cabins. We live in a very private beautiful place, but needed to unplug from our lives, so we were hoping this would be good. However, we just could not stay, it was too noisy and we could not relax. So we left after 1 night. If you are expecting a very quiet vacation, this is not it. Huda was very nice, and tried to rent the cabin when we left, but it was confusing to work with Vbro and it was not rented. So we lost our money for the whole week.

Great view from well furnished cabin not too modern but just right.

This cabin was well stocked with the essentials, had heating and cooling, the later not needed in view of the cool weather we had in late June. The little beach in front of the house was perfect for launching a kayak or canoe which we did and we toured the lake which is big enough to offer views and wildlife. Charcoal provided and a place to barbeque much appreciated as well as the fire pit with firewood, canoes, kayaks, easy parking and access. The only drawback was its proximity to Rt. 86 which is a busy highway, but not too annoying and the proximity to the public beach for Saranac Lake which had some noisy teenagers freezing and yelling. though not too late into the evening and only one afternoon, but the beach is not open yet. The dining room table presented some challenges with a glass top that is precariously balanced on a wooden tableau. Not so comfy but very decorous, it could be amended to be more practical. Other than, this rental was pretty much perfect for us. Thanks.

Great cabin getaway.

The early mornings on the lakefront and the evening sunsets by the fire pit can't be beat! As the cabin is waterfront, even from inside or on your porch you can watch the "mirror images" on the early morning lake, listen to the loons and enjoy the peacefulness this cabin offers. Your own poly-Adirondack chairs, fire pit, lakefront and end unit cabin make it a spectacular get away. The bonus of canoes, kayaks and rowboats (with life vests provided) add to the lake experience. Fishing is a must, especially early morning. Just a wonderful place to get away to. The host was amazing, very detailed and responsive. Yes, you can hear adjacent noise from public beach facility and traffic but it's summer and is to be expected at such a beautiful lake resort area. Would definitely add this to list of return trips to make!

Loon cabin

Close to the main road, Loon is one of four cabins on the property at pretty Lake Colby. The interior is cozy, the view of the lake is lovely and the owner couldn't have been more kind and accommodating.

My husband and I live in the Hudson Valley, but our favorite place to relax and recreate is the Adirondacks. Our caretaker is up the road and you will be provided his cell number. We are also a phone call or text away.

During COVID-19 our staff are taking extra precautions to disinfect surfaces. We have Covid Checkout guidelines posted in each cabin.

We provide fresh towels and linens and in the summer months, beach towels and life jackets for guests. In warm weather months, guests can choose from two row boats, two canoes and 3 kayaks which are kept at our private beach.

This cabin is a two minute walk to the public beach and a one minute drive to the public boat launch. We do not allow check-in or check-out on Saturdays from the third week of June to the first week of September.
Let us know if you wish to book more than one cabin. We have 3 other cabins: Bear (2 bed one bath), Fish (one bed, one bath) and Loon (one bed, one bath) available for one large group to enjoy. All 4 cabins would sleep 18 people.

We do not allow check-in or check-out on Saturdays from the third week of June to the first week of September.

These cabins are on a beautiful lake where one can enjoy swimming or use of any of our 7 boats(Summer check in or check out on can be any day Except Saturday). A short drive away are excellent golf courses, some of the best hiking on the East Coast and great down hill skiing and snow boarding. Our cabins are insulated and heated year round and renters will enjoy the serenity of Lake Colby and the wonderful village of Saranac Lake any month of the year.

Our cabins are furnished and decorated with the history of the Adirondacks in mind, but with all of the comforts you would enjoy in your own home: AC, WIFI and Smart TV's. Enjoy fresh coffee on Lake Colby in the morning and a beer at the fire pit lakeside at sunset.
