Fun place to spend a few days

This place was great for a family getaway. Spacious house with a private arcade in the basement. We really enjoyed our stay.

Very cool place

We really enjoyed our stay and the owner was awesome! The house is beautiful and cozy. Our kids had a blast playing the arcade games.

Short Family Visit

Stayed for 3 nights and loved it! John was friendly and accomodating. The living room was stocked with electronic games as well as board and card games--fantastic! All 3 bedrooms were great, although only 2 have TVs. The range of arcade games in the basement covered our age range from 35 to 4--especially the foosball :) . Would definitely recommend and would stay again. Thanks, John!

Arcade Loft

My family enjoyed having their own private arcade. We also appreciated having a TV in each room as well as the projection screen. We had a really nice stay.

Repeat stay

This is our third stay here. It’s spacious and comfortable. Close enough to Bloomington-Normal to be a good spot for family weekends and graduations. A couple of the sinks leak and need some attention, but otherwise everything is clean and in good repair. Thanks again for a nice stay!

Great house, not-as-great stay

The house is great and perfect for a family. Unfortunately the skylight in a bedroom leaked water on floor and bed. Plus, air conditioner didn’t work. This made for very uncomfortable stay. Home owner was very responsive and tried to fix, but I’m disappointed he did not offer a partial discount with so many problems.

Exceptional

As we pulled up to the property, nothing could prepare us for what awaited inside. Opening the door into a large, old wooden staircase, we ascended into a “big kids” paradise. Massive kitchen with enough space for multiple families, a theatre sized projector screen supported by a surround sound system, a gigantic dining room table for games, and of course, the downstairs arcade! Rooms were spacious and comfortable, and all plumbing/appliances worked perfectly. We came down for a guys weekend, and quickly realized one weekend was not enough to fully absorb all this location had to offer. This is one of the most unique and unforgettable spots in the Midwest, and I am hopeful to return in the future! Kudos to John for setting up such an awesome experience!

Vectors Arcade: The Perfect Blend of Fun and Comfort!

Our stay at Vectors Arcade was absolutely excellent! From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the unique and inviting atmosphere of the property. The owner was incredibly accommodating, making our self- check-in and stay completely hassle-free, and providing clear instructions for using the internet, wireless setup, etc. The private arcade area/games were an absolute hit with our teens (and the adults too)! We spent countless hours laughing and competing. The large screen and incredible sound system transformed what we'd describe as a great room into a mini-theater, perfect for family movie nights and karaoke sessions. The entire property was impeccably clean and well-appointed, providing us with everything we needed for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. We loved navigating the unique layout of the house, adding an extra element of fun to our vacation. It was truly a one-of-a-kind experience that our family will cherish for years to come. We highly recommend Vectors Arcade to anyone looking for a memorable getaway! We've already decided that this will be our annual family vacation spot. Thank you for sharing your wonderful property with us!

Great place but late notice of other renter.

Place is a fantastic getaway for hanging out and gaming. The non existence of curtains was a huge let down cuz ppl can just see right in and the projector screen was directly across from the windows. So you can't even watch or game anything till night time. Arcade was a blast but apparently on the other side of the wall was other renters I knew nothing about till the night we showed up at 10pm when the landlord messaged me to be respectful bout loudness and we'd already been being loud thinking we were alone. Otherwise place was a blast. Great games, plenty of space to hangout, huge kitchen table for board games and dinner. All and all this place was definitely worth the stay. I just wished I knew ahead of time bout another renter so we weren't so loud.

Great time for gaming....

McLean is an nice little town, and it's current setup as a retro gaming town is awesome. The rental is a great way to spend some time in the general area. The place was clean and had an interesting layout. The rooms were all good sized and the beds were very comfortable to all of us. The kitchen was nice and had a lot of the necessary items to prepare a meal. The exhaust hood was a little finicky, but everything else worked flawlessly. The games in the basement were awesome, me and the daughter spent many a night playing pinball for hours. The video games had a good variety, but there were a few that didn't work at all, and 1 that had useless controls, but the remaining units still gave hours of enjoyment. The big projector tv was cool, but there really needs to be some kind of blinds on the front windows so you can use it during the day. There are many other TV's to use in the house though, so it wasn't a big deal. Awesome water pressure and the water gets nice and hot, with no problems with running out experienced. The showerheads are a bit aggressive, which may be an issue for some, but we all loved them. Not a lot to do locally, but there are several towns within 20 minutes that have plenty of things to do and places to eat. Didn't get to spend any time out on the porch, due to the crappy weather we experienced, but there is a table and chairs to sit and enjoy the (mostly) quiet town. There are train tracks nearby, so hearing a train and related horns is a frequent thing.

Fun for everyone

This is such a fun place to stay! Though it looks small from outside, this apartment is very spacious. The kitchen is well stoked for preparing meals and the natural and artificial light are gorgeous throughout. We appreciated the convenience of the washer/dryer with detergent provided. We all enjoyed the arcade within the property and the access from there to the external garden. The location is great! We had fun at the public arcade downstairs, there's a nice little shaded park across the street, and we all loved the trains. We were traveling through for a concert in St. Louis so we were only there for a weekend, but my adult kids said they'd love to come back for a longer stay. We highly recommend staying here! Of special note, we were concerned about the numerous stairs because we were traveling with a toddler, so we brought several baby gates (which turned out to be too small). If anyone else is traveling with a little one, don't worry. Turned diagonally, the two white chairs at the top of the big stairs work perfectly to block the spaces on either side of the stairs (kitchen on one side and living area on the other) and the entertainment stand in the bedroom closest to the spiral stairs work perfectly to block those stairs and keep little ones safe. So don't let the stairs keep you from staying if you're traveling with a baby or toddler. This space is so much fun and my grandson loved the tall windows all the space to run around. Thanks again!

A FUN place to stay!

We have stayed at this property twice and enjoyed it both times! The space is perfect for our large family - big kitchen, large dining table and huge great room. You can see all of that in the pictures. It's such a charming place to stay and play!

Hidden Gem

What a wonderful experience, very clean and accommodating. The house had everything we needed and then some. Great place for a staycation. Comfortable place to relax and tons of things available in the home for entertainment. Will definitely have to come again.

Hidden gem!!!

My family - my husband, three teenage boys and my parents - stayed here for a relaxing Fourth of July weekend. The house was amazing! We enjoyed cooking our meals in the beautiful kitchen and had plenty of room to eat and play games on the large dining room table. The exposed brick made us feel like we were in a restaurant! We watched a few movies on the projector screen and slept well in the comfy beds. My boys and my dad absolutely LOVED the arcade games and pinball machines and spent much time bonding over those. We had an issue with one of the pinball machines and John came over and quickly fixed it. He was great - meeting us upon arrival and filling us in a bit on his playable arcade museum! We had such a great time - we will definitely be back!!!

Excellent place for a bday party

We had my son’s 10th birthday party here with 4 of his friends. There was plenty of space to play and sleep. The arcade in the basement was a huge hit. I love how much was included with the stay- tv’s in almost every room, the arcade games downstairs, PlayStation and Xbox already connected to the projector. The green space across the street was perfect for a few pickup games of soccer and catch. Of course, have easy access to Arcadia was a plus. We’d definitely stay here again, it would be great for a small family gathering as well-

Mikey’s Wedding weekend
